Abstract

Palm oil farming productivity is largely determinate by seed quality. The growing importance of the use of good quality seed to palm oil production encourages farmer to be more critical in choosing variety of palm oil seed. Attitude dan satisfaction of farmer in using certified palm oil seed is important to understand what the farmer want in farming activities. This research is designed to observe it. The attitudes of farmers were analyzed using fishbein multiatribut approach while customers satisfied using Important Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfied Index (CSI). Based on this research, attributes that affect farmers in using certified seed palm oil are production potential, seed endurance, plant age, seed viability, efficient in use fertilizers, variety, seed size, seed certified label, seed price, fresh fruit bunch price, seed location, seed availability, ease of selling fresh bunch price, and shop promotion. Fishbein multivariate analysis show that neutral attitudes on certified palm oil seed (76 percent). While result CSI on certified palm oil seed are satisfied 70.04 percent farmers.

Abstract

Management of plant pests and diseases is very important role in efforts to maintain agricultural production. Consumers want a chemical-free agricultural production that can generally be obtained from sustainable organic farming. Institutional strengthening through the practice of organic and sustainable agriculture includes increasing the role and rules of the game as well as re-functioning the roles of the community in the development and utilization of vegetable pesticides that support organic agriculture. The purpose of this study is to analyze the institutional index actual and analyze institutional strengthening in the management of plant pests and diseases in supporting the development of sustainable organic agriculture. This research uses primary data and secondary data. Primary data collection methods are interviews with farmers and through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Primary data consist of, general condition of research location, area of organic agricultural land and organic agricultural production. Data analysis methods used a weighted approach while strengthening institutional control of pests and plant diseases in support of sustainable organic agriculture were analyzed through the Interpretative Structure Modeling (ISM) reliability matrix approach. The results showed that in the reserach location an institution had been formed even though the index category was not good, namely the farmer group, organic farming union and agricultural village with values of 26.25%, 28.32%, and 32.83% respectively index while institutional improvement in motivation has 44.64% which shows a reasonably good performance. In order to strengthenthe management of plant pests and diseases institutions in supporting the implementation of organic agriculture, key indicators that must be carried out consecutively are: availability of regional regulations on pest control and plant diseases, Role of Village Milim Business Entity in plant pestsand diseases management, assistance, plant pests and diseasesmanagement planning, availability of organic farming markets, certainty of organic production prices, organic farming organizations and increasing community participation in plant pests and diseases management.

Abstract

Dryland rice farming can be use to increase rice production in order to meet national food needs. To achieve high productivity, dryland rice farming systems must be carried out efficiently so that extra skills are needed from each individual farmer. This study aims to analyze factors that influence the production and economic efficiency level of dryland rice farming in Lampung Selatan Regency. Data collection was conducted by survey method with 60 farmers. The stochastic frontier production function is used in this study for data analysis. The results showed that the factors affecting dry land rice production in Lampung Selatan Regency were land area, seeds, N fertilizer, P fertilizer, solid pesticides, labor, and types of seeds. The average level of technical, allocative, and economic efficiency of dryland rice farming in Lampung Selatan Regency is 0.869; .957; and 0.829. These results indicate that farmers can still improve technical efficiency and allocative efficiency in order to achieve economically efficient conditions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence the production and efficiency of pepper farming allocations. This research was carried out in Ameroro Village, Tinondo District, East Kolaka Regency, where the location was determined deliberately. This technique takes research samples using simple random sampling and is calculated using the Slovin formula. The number of respondents obtained was 60 households. This research was conducted from December 2018 to April 2019. The type of data analysis used is multiple linear regression and allocation efficiency. The model used is the relationship between the cobb-Douglas production function. The results of this study use simultaneous or together (F test). There is a significant effect on pepper production. With an adjusted R2 value of 0.799. This shows that at 79.9%, pepper production is influenced by land areas (X1), labor (X2), phonska fertilizer (X3), and pesticides (X4). The tukey test shows that the factors of production of land areas, labor, phska fertilizer, and pesticides are very influential on the increase in pepper production. Based on the results of the analysis of the efficiency of production factors: NPMx/Pxis greater than 1, which means it is ineffective, so an increase in the input is needed to produce a more massive output.
