Abstract

This research aims to study: general description and factors that determine salt business income In Oesena Village, Miomafo Timur District, North Central Timor Regency,. In Oesena Village, East Miomafo District, North Central Timor Regency, this research was conducted. The population and samples in this analysis were obtained using saturated sampling techniques. The overall population in this sample was 20 people who worked on salt in the Oesena Village. Through measuring the sample size using the saturated sample method, all members of the population are sampled. Thus, from the explanation above, all participants of the population are observed, that would be 20 people. The results showed that the salt processing process carried out in Oesena Village was divided into three stages: the filtering stage of raw material (seed salt), the cooking stage and the filtration stage of the ripe salt. Salt marketing takes place where consumers take salt at each farmer's house at a fixed sale price. The total expense incurred by the salt farmers in Oesena Village in 2020 for the salt industry is IDR 497,057,090, while the total revenue is IDR 813,000,000. Total Salt Business Income is the result of a reduction in total sales with a total cost, so that the total Salt Business Income in Oesena Village in 2020 is IDR 315,942,910. On the basis of the capital factor t-test, the volume of production has a significant effect on income with a significant value of 0,00 <0,05 with a confidence level of 5%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the feed management and profitability of smallholder beef cattle farming. The study was conducted in Langkat Regency with a total of 80 respondents from smallholder beef cattle business. The method of the study is a survey. The data analysis used is descriptive quantitative. Data were analyzed using income analysis, profitability and One Sample T-Test using SPSS. The results showed that the management of feed, namely the feed provided only consisted of forage, feeding was given in the morning and evening and the way of feeding was the Kreman method. Based on the results of calculations during the covid 19 pandemic, the total of revenue were Rp. 16,122,500; production cost of Rp. 12,389,581. The amount of income is Rp. 3,732,919. Profitability value of 23.15% is greater than BRI Bank deposits of 4%, so the beef cattle business is declared profitable and feasible to be developed.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the supply chain system in the rice milling business. This study is an explanatory research. The case study was conducted at UD. Only Son in East Kolaka. The results of this study are, the supply chain system in the rice milling business consists of 2 groups, namely the raw material supply channel (grain) and the product distribution channel (rice). The channel for supplying raw materials (grain) is dominated by the Farmer - Grain Collector - Company channel which has a 50% share of the total annual purchase volume. Meanwhile, the product distribution channel (rice) is dominated by the Company - Wholesaler channel which has a 55% share of the total annual sales volume. The complexity of the supply chain creates the possibility of potential financial risks. Most of the supply chain in terms of volume and percentage (>50%) is traversed by products, namely from farmers, grain traders, UD Putra Tunggal, and wholesalers.

Abstract

Bima Regency is the center for the development and production of the largest shallot commodity in NTB Province. However, the productivity of shallots in Bima Regency still needs to be increased in order to achieve maximum production. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that influence shallot farming and to analyze the technical efficiency of farmers in conducting shallot farming. Bima Regency is the research area determined by purposive sampling because it is the center of shallot development in NTB Province. The research data was taken by conducting interviews with 35 respondents who were determined by proportional sampling. Then the data obtained were analyzed using the Cobb Douglas Stochastic Frontier production function approach using the Frontier 4.1 software program. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the production factor of the number of seeds, urea fertilizer and labor had a significant effect on the production of shallots at the alpha level of 5 percent while pesticides and KCL fertilizers had a significant effect on the production of shallots at the alpha level of 15 percent. The level of technical efficiency of onion farming in Bima Regency is classified as efficient because it has a value of 0.9569. Farmers can still improve efficiency in onion farming by optimizing the use of superior seeds, labor, balanced fertilizer application, and increasing farmers' skills in adopting innovation and using onion cultivation technology.

Abstract

Efficiency can be achieved by minimizing the resources needed to produce a particular output, or maximizing the output generated from a particular resource. Efficient use of resources can increase productivity. How efficient is the use of resources in rice paddy farming, invested through studies aimed to estimate production factors that affect rice farming and to measure its efficiency. The research was conducted in Noelbaki Village, Central Kupang District, Kupang Regency. Determination of the population used purposive sampling method, in which with the consideration of farmers who own rice fields. Sample is chosen as random sampling as much as 60 famers from the population. Data is analyzed with Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier production function, and Cobb-Douglas Stochastic Frontier cost function to obtain economic efficiency value. Allocative efficiency is estimated from rasio between technical efficiency and economic efficiency. The results showed that the factors of land area production, seeds, fertilizers, labor have a significant effect on rice. The use of input factors in rice paddy farming can be said to be quite efficient technically and economically with an average value of 0.81±0,11 and 0.84±0,15, respectively. While the allocative efficiency is very efficient with an average value of 0.99±0,21.

Abstract

Population growth continues to increase every year with a percentage increase of 1.19% per year in the 2016-2020 period. This is not in line with the availability of land in Indonesia which continues to decline. One of the efforts that can support the acceleration of increasing rice production is to use new high-yielding varieties (VUB) which have high yields, are resistant to major pests and diseases, or are tolerant to the local environment, and have special characteristics. This study was conducted to determine the level of adoption of the use of new superior varieties seeds in lowland rice cultivation, what factors affect the adoption rate, as well as to develop strategies for implementing the adoption of new superior varieties seeds in lowland rice cultivation. The method used is a descriptive method and multiple linear regression. Respondents were taken as many as 67 people who were determined intentionally (purposive sampling), namely farmers who became members of farmer groups and carried out rice cultivation business. The results showed that the adoption rate was included in the low category with a percentage of 81%. Factors that have a significant effect with a significant value of Conformity 0.026, Complexity 0.000, and Strictness 0.019. The strategy used in this research is to increase the adoption of innovation in the use of superior varieties of seeds, namely by conducting counseling to farmers by referring to the most critical and influential indicator, namely the suitability indicator.

Abstract

Subsidized fertilizer is one of the policies carried out by the government to increase agricultural production, especially food crops. This study aims to analyze the decision making of farmers to buy and use subsidized fertilizers, as well as the preferences of farmers in Biboki Anleu Subdistrict to use subsidized fertilizers. The research was carried out in June-August 2021. Quantitative description methods and logistic regression were used to analyze this study. The number of samples used in this study amounted to 320 respondents. The results of this study are the area of land, the performance of the extension worker, knowledge, the amount of production affect the decision of farmers to buy subsidized fertilizer. Decision making by farmers is significantly influenced by land area, performance of extension workers, knowledge, and ability to access information. The opinion and performance of the extension worker, land area, ability to access information and purchase fertilizer at official kiosks are the preferences of lowland rice farmers.
