Abstract

The research was conducted at the TTU Slaughterhouse (RPH) and Pasar Baru Kota Kefamenanu from October to November 2018. This study aims to look at consumer behavior in buying meat, both in terms of meat quality, consumer tastes in choosing meat, and also price. The method used is a survey method with descriptive approaches and correlational methods. The descriptive method aims to make descriptions or descriptions of the facts, characteristics, and relationships of the phenomena being investigated in a particular population or area in a systematic, factual, and accurate manner. The correlational method is a continuation of the descriptive method which aims to study the statistical relationship between the variables under study. The variables observed were consumer tastes where beef buyers both in the new market and at the Kefamenanu City Slaughterhouse (RPH) prefer fresh beef with a slightly brownish-red color with fat color attached to white meat, less fatty meat, distinctive aroma of the meat, or odorless and smooth meat texture. Most consumers choose has to beef because it has a soft texture and contains a little bit of fat, and most consumers who buy beef for business, be it for shops, selling meatballs or salome with a range of buying meat between 1 to 4 kg and above every day. For the reason that consumer prices do not feel influential in buying beef, but the supply system is important in purchasing meat and the satisfaction of prices is felt by consumers today due to the availability of sufficient beef at affordable prices.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to see the application of solid bokashi fertilizer with different ingredients on the growth and production of purslane (Portulaca oleracea. L.). This research was conducted on 02nd March 2020, located on the agricultural land of the University of Timor. The method used in this research is a field experiment that applies a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications so that there are 16 experimental units. The treatments tested consisted of R0: Bokashi without fertilizer (control), R1: Bokashi Fertilizer made from Chicken Excreta, R2: Bokashi Fertilizer Made from Cow Feces, R3: Bokashi Fertilizer Made from Goat Feces. The variables observed in this study were stem diameter (mm), number of tillers, spreading length (cm), fresh plant weight (grams) and plant dry weight (grams). The results showed that offering solid bokashi made from cow more significantly supported the growth and production of purslane (Portulaca oleracea. L.). Of the four (4) treatments, namely R0, R1, R2 and R3, in general the application of solid bokashi fertilizer made from cow feces (R2) significantly supported the growth and production of purslane (Portulaca oleracea. L.). In the stem diameter parameter, R2 was 0.39, the length of the spread, R2 was 8.53, the number of tillers, R2 was 2.11, plant fresh weight, R2 was 3.17, while on the plant dry weight parameter, R2 had no significant effect, which is only 0.40. It can be concluded that giving bokashi made from chicken and cow feces is very active in increasing the value of growth and production of purslane plant, because it contains nutrients needed for plant growth.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of biochar level and compost tea dosage and the interaction between the factors on the growth and production of odot grass. This research was conducted from 25 May 2020 to 3 August 2020 at the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Timor, Sasi Village, Kota District, North Central Timor Regency. The method used in this research is the experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) 3x3 factorial pattern. The factors tested were the first factor, the level of biochar and the second, the dose of compost tea. Biochar level consists of 3 levels including: L0: Without Biochar, L1 : Biochar 100 g / pot, L2 : Biochar 200 g / pot. The second factor consists of 3 levels of compost tea, including D0: Without Compost Tea, D1 : 150 ml / pot dose, D2 : 300 ml / pot dose. From the two factors above, 9 treatment combinations were produced consisting of L0D0, L0D1, L0D2, L1D0, L1D1, L1D2, L2D0, L2D1, L2D2 and each combination consisted of 4 replications so that there were 36 experimental units. The variables observed were plant height (cm), number of tillers (shoots), stem diameter, leaf fresh weight (g), leaf dry weight (g). Results showed that there was no interaction between biochar level and compost tea dose on plant height, stem diameter, number of tillers, fresh weight and dry weight of odot grass leaves. It was concluded that the best crop production was produced by the combination treatment of 200 g/pot of biochar and 300 ml/pot of compost tea and there was no interaction between biochar level and compost tea dose on growth and production of odot grass. Giving Biochar with a level of 200 g (L2) significantly (P<0.05) was able to increase the production of fresh weight by 66.40 g and plant dry weight by 29.10 g, but had no significant effect (P>0.05) on plant height, stem diameter and number of tillers generated. Giving a dose of 150 ml compost tea (D1) gave the best results on the resulting stem diameter of 1.27 cm but had no effect on other variables.
