JSW: Jurnal Sosiologi Walisongo - ISSN 2503-3166 (print) ISSN 2503-3182 (online) is a critical, reflective, and transformative academic media that is published by Laboratorium Sosiologi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo Semarang, in the effort for developing the discipline of Sociology having the perspective of unity of sciences. Article is based on research in all division of sociology like sociology of religion, sociology of politic, sociology of law, sociology of development, urban/rural sociology, democracy, social ethic, anthropology, community development, social philosophy, gender, and social welfare.

<![CDATA[This article focuses on the influence of new religions (Islam and Christianity) to the changing of agroecosystem in Dayak Loksado. In line with the government policy in employing modern agricultural farming, spreading new religions (Islam and Christianity) have affected the changing of traditional farming to the modern one. This research aims to know the influence of religious conversion in an agroecosystem in Dayak Loksado and several influential factors and also the impact of that system. Using qualitative as an approach, the data are collected from in-depth interview focused on special region named Balai Padang, Malinau, Loksado. The result of this research shows that conversion to a new religion has changed agroecosystem in Dayak Loksado in terms of belief and practice for some people. Moreover, swidden cultivation or nomad agriculture has changed into a permanent one gradually. There are several influential factors decreasing of a local field for paddies and availability of field for rubbers and palms plantations.]]>

<![CDATA[The case of injustices and human rights violations in Kendeng, Rembang Regency become a national issue that has led to the emergence of the social movement to defend the rights of people. LBH Semarang is among CSOs that actively engage in the movement. This research is qualitative and descriptive using LBH Semarang as a case study. By applying observation, interviews and document study, this research found that LBH Semarang Plays important role in organizing the movement to reject the establishment of cement industry in Kendeng. ]]>

<![CDATA[On a global scale, the music industry is currently experiencing declining growth after a significant decline in profits. This phenomenon is common in the era of digital transformation. Based on the EU report (European Commission, 2017) that global technology is changing rapidly. This reflects the desire of humans to do more by finding opportunities to meet their needs. The internet is the starting point for why the global world is changing so fast. One example is the global economic sector. By using the internet, people can search for all digital entertainment content easily without filtering it out. Sharing files on the internet has a negative impact on the music industry's sales the old way. They demand the termination of sharing music through the internet such as Youtube. This paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of company-based file-sharing businesses in Indonesia. <![CDATA[This paper describes the social and cultural situation of Pematang Gubernur Village, Muara Bangka Hulu Sub-district, Bengkulu City. Formerly, this area belongs to Suku Lembak who lived in Tanjung Agung and Tanjung Jaya village. The population of Pematang Gubernur has increased along with the establishment of Bengkulu University housing and the relocation of government office of Bengkulu City to Muara Bangka Hulu Sub-district. Based on the sociological analysis, Suku Lembak becomes a minority group in their own territory and as a minority, they are no longer able to carry out their customs and traditions, in contrast, the migrants that have become majority group, in fact, can apply their traditions and rituals from their origin. This research found that the social structure of Pematang Gubernur Village is seeking its ideal format. The community of the village is diverse and live in different groups based on housing complex and kampong. This makes the community divided and trapped in the situation in which the interaction between groups is limited. This also makes the community of Padang Gubernur has a narrow perspective in understanding poverty by seeing it as merely a problem of success and failure in pursuing the career and business of their neighbors. They also have narrow self-orientation and non-competitive capacities.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia is a democracy. Therefore the government must encourage and guarantee freedom of speech, religion, opinion, an association for every citizen. The government must enforce the rule of law which the majority must respect the rights of minority groups and their citizens give each other equal opportunities to live together to get a decent life. The Republic of Indonesia is a unitary state with a high degree of plurality in the fields of religion, ethnicity, race, and class. To support religious life, the national and state community in a peaceful, healthy, prosperous and happy manner, civil religion is needed. This research is a phenomenological study focusing on analyzing the description and explanation of civil religion in Indonesia. A phenomenological approach is used in interpreting the "meaning" of data. With this method, it is expected to obtain interpretations about civil religion in Indonesia. The results of this study concluded that Pancasila could become a "civil religion in Indonesia", at least it had developed along with the will of the people who led, and placed Pancasila as a transcendental backing (civil religion). Pancasila with its five principles is a real picture of civil religion.]]>

<![CDATA[This study focuses on the changing of orientation and expression among the elites of pesantren in Tasikmalaya in the effort to form a community life that is in accordance with the culture and values of Islamic teachings. To answer the questions, a descriptive-qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach is used in this study. The results of the study show that there are differences in views related to religious relations with the state, especially those which related to the intersection of Islamic Law with the legal system that applies among pesantren in Tasikmalaya. The first view states that to find solutions to various problems of society and in forming an Islamic society requires the involvement of the State; The second view states that to form an Islamic society does not need to involve the state. This view is more supportive of the implementation of religious ethics or morals with a cultural approach. The third view is the view which is a compromise between the two groups in the making of regulations.]]>

<![CDATA[The social phenomenon that became the focus of sociology has diversity in the aspects of social life of society both as a real and practical reality as well as abstract and utopian reality. The reality is static and moves dynamically inherent in social processes in the daily life of social setting. The social process shapes reality as part of the past takes place today and becomes a hope for the future. Among the social phenomena that become part of the fundamental study of sociology are structure and social system. Social structure is a process of social interaction that lasts a long time, regularly and form a pattern. The social system is a functional social interaction of a set of elements in a group or society to defend the boundaries or unity of its parts. Both in this context are interesting to explain the process of its formation, relationships, functions, traits and changes in discourse and praxis. Applying literature study this article will explore the processes of formation, relationships, functions, traits, and changes of social structure and social system in discourse and praxis. The effort is important to strengthen the sociology repertoire on the macro and abstract level.]]>
