Abstract

Da'wah is an inviting activity carried out by da'i to mad'u. The Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) of Sintang Regency has implemented a da'wah strategy deeply rooted in the philosophy of da'wah to enhance community religiosity, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. In fulfilling its role as a guiding organization aimed at nurturing a generation with noble character, MUI Sintang collaborates with Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) to broadcast its da'wah messages. Radio is chosen as a medium because it is accessible to all segments of society, especially in rural areas where other forms of communication may be limited due to poor signal reception. The da'wah efforts by MUI Sintang are carefully designed to ensure that every element of the da'wah process is considered, with the ultimate goal of making the da'wah message acceptable, understandable, and impactful in changing the thoughts and behaviors of the mad'u. This study explores the effectiveness of these strategies and their role in enhancing the religiosity of the community in Sintang Regency.

Abstract

The tahlilan tradition in Sindangjaya Village is a religious practice rich in Islamic values, functioning as a medium for socialization and actualizing religious values. Not only does it function as a religious ritual to pray for people who have died, but also as an effective da'wah medium to spread Islam. This research aims to explore the role of tahlilan in cultivating religious values among the Nahdliyin community. Through interviews with religious leaders and local communities, it was found that tahlilan functions as a ritual to pray for people who have died and as a means to convey religious messages that include aspects of aqidah, worship, and morals. The process of socializing religious values in tahlilan involves two crucial aspects: the application of religious values in spiritual and social aspects. Tahlilan is a forum to strengthen people's relations with Allah (hablum minallah) and with fellow humans (hablum minannas). In addition, this tradition also serves as a tool to strengthen social solidarity and maintain good relations between citizens. The results of the study show that tahlilan has a significant impact on shaping the character and attitude of the community, as well as in internalizing religious values that are inherited from generation to generation. Thus, tahlilan is not only a religious ritual, but also an integral part of the cultural identity of the Nahdliyin people that needs to be preserved and developed.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly transformed various aspects of life, including the religious practices of Muslims. In this digital era, religious practices such as worship, religious learning, and the dissemination of Islamic values have undergone changes influenced by the ease of access to information and digital media platforms. This study aims to analyze the impact of digital transformation on the religious practices of Muslims, focusing on the opportunities and challenges faced in contemporary da'wah. Identified opportunities include the expanded reach of da'wah, efficiency in delivering messages, and global connectivity among Muslims. However, challenges such as the misuse of technology, biased information, and the lack of digital literacy in society also require attention. Through a qualitative approach, this study explores strategies that da'i (preachers) can adopt to maximize digital media as an effective and contextually relevant tool for da'wah in today's socio-cultural landscape.

Abstract

This paper examines the transformation of children's character education in Islamic da'wah within the era of social media. The main question addressed is how Islamic da'wah can adapt to effectively nurture children's moral development amidst rapid digitalization. Positioned within the framework of Islamic educational values, this study argues that conventional da'wah approaches must be integrated with innovative digital strategies. The discussion is conducted through a qualitative descriptive method, using literature review and analysis of contemporary digital practices. The main result indicates that effective Islamic character education today requires the use of creative, interactive, and value-based digital content, parental collaboration, and the development of positive online communities. These strategies ensure that Islamic values are meaningfully transmitted and internalized by children in their formative years despite the challenges posed by the social media environment.

Abstract

This paper explores the integration of Islamic da'wah with local culture through the Wiwit Mbako ritual, a traditional agricultural ceremony practiced in Temanggung, Central Java. The central research question investigates how Islamic values are communicated and embodied within this cultural tradition, particularly in the context of rural agrarian communities. Employing a qualitative approach, the study analyzes the Wiwit Mbako ritual as both a cultural and religious practice, focusing on key elements such as prayers (doa), communal meals (selamatan), and social gatherings (gotong royong). Through these ritualistic components, the paper examines how Islamic teachings—such as gratitude, trust in Allah, and communal solidarity—are contextualized and disseminated within a familiar, culturally resonant framework. The findings highlight the dual role of the Wiwit Mbako ceremony, which not only serves as an expression of thanksgiving for a successful tobacco harvest but also as a medium for Islamic da'wah, promoting social harmony and religious devotion. The paper concludes that the Wiwit Mbako ritual not only reaffirms the community's dependence on divine will but also strengthens the role of da'wah by blending Islamic messages with local customs, thereby enhancing their relevance and impact within an agrarian society. This fusion of religion and culture underscores the adaptability of Islamic da'wah in rural Indonesia, making it a vital tool for preserving both cultural identity and religious values.
