Abstract

The objectives of this paper is to describe how the role and how to apply starategy blended learning in mathematics. blended learning strategy is mixing two or more strategies or learning methods to obtain the expected learning outcomes. Blended learning strategy in mathematics learning has three components which are mixed into one form of learning. The components consist of 1) online learning, 2) to-face learning, and 3) self-learning. Appropriate blended learning strategy is used in mathematics to study the future of the development of information and communication technology in Indonesia is very adequate.

Abstract

An increasing number of Papuans qualified teachers realized by sending young people from Papua to continue their education in the College of Education. But the basic capabilities, especially mathematics, which owned high school students graduated from Papua that continuing education is very low. This, presumably because the students have math anxiety, thus preventing them from material master mathematics. By using a qualitative research approach, particularly the case study method, this research describes what factors are the cause of math anxiety prospective teacher students from Papua, based on the results of questionnaires and interviews that have been analyzed.

Abstract

Students’ difficulty within learn geomety is closely related to the spatial ability. Spatial ability is needed by students to support and solve mathematics problems, partcularly in geometry. This descriptive qualitative research aimed to describe the spatial ability of the students JHS in manipulating and rotating mentally the object and also the ability imagine the shape of object from the different perspective by giving test of geometry three dimensions. The research subjects were 3 students of JHS with different mathematical ability, namely higher level, average level, and lower level. The research subjects were given test of geometry three dimensions I and interviewed. Time triangulation was conducted to check the credibility of the data by giving test of geometry three dimensions II and interviewed again. Based on the results of analysis were found that the ability to  change mentally the shape of object into different shape and the ability to move mentally the position of object were possesed by all of the subjects However, the higher and average level ability have difficulty in representing the image of three dimensions into two dimensions at the plane. Differ from those two subjects, the subject with lower level ability was found has difficulty in visualizing the shape of object from the different perspective.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models on mathematics learning achievement viewed from students independence learning. The learning models compared were cooperative learning model of TAI GNT, cooperative learning model of TAI, and conventional model. The type of the research was a quasi-experimental research. The population was the tenth grade students of senior high school at East Lombok. The results of this research are as follows. (1) In each level of independence learning (high, medium, and low), TAI GNT model gives better mathematics learning achievement than TAI and conventional model, besides, TAI model gives better mathematic learning achievement than conventional model. (2) In each learning models (TAI GNT, TAI and conventional), the students with high independence learning have better mathematics learning achievement than the students with medium and low independence learning, and the students with medium independence learning have the same mathematics learning achievement as the students with low independence learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is that students are able to understand the basic concepts of Least Common Multiple (LCM) easy by using traditional games in Palembang, namely Bom Angka. The method used is design research with preliminary design, teaching experiment, and retrospective analysis stage, with the subjects were primary school students in the fourth grade. The results of this study indicate that the use of the traditional game in LCM motivated students to be more interested in learning mathematics, because students can learn and play at the same time. In addition, the pronunciation of numbers in sequence once uttered a bomb in every multiple of the numbers that have been agreed enables students to think quickly while helping students memorizing multiplication automatically, who were eventually able to instill the concept of LCM well.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is the renewal of learning methods into calculus courses with modules of computer-assisted learning through maple. The products produced in this study is in the form of teaching materials in the form of calculus course lab guide through maple. With the resulting product of this research will be useful theoretically and practically. Theoretically, it is expected to result in the learning principles that can improve the quality of learning calculus, so as to enrich the theory of the existing learning models. Type of research is the development. Learning products developed include: (1). Models and learning strategies; (2). The device in the form of learning, Syllabus, Unit Learning Event, Book Teaching Material Calculus computer-assisted, student worksheet; and (3) test the learning outcomes. Product trials involving calculus course lecturers, heads of university and student mathematics education courses Se-Lombok. The test results were analyzed using descriptive statistics.
