Abstract

Imperative sentence is sentence that used to express command, request, direction, and prohibition. Imperative sentence often be seen on many media, one of them is guidance for using on medicine product. Guidance for using medicine product is a horde of sentence that used to give guidance to the consumer in order to decrease the misuse of the medicine product. The existence of the guidance to use of medicine product is being the source of this analysis is supposed to bring us the classification of guidance of medicine product those are divided by several kinds of them, imperative as a command, request, direction, and also imperative sentence that used to give prohibition. The process of classifying of this analysis is helped by the descriptive qualitative method in order to make the analysis to be sharp enough and easy to get the aim of this analysis that will peel off the purpose of imperative sentence on medicine product by classifying on what type they are mostly formed consisted. After having analysis over the entire related source in the imperative sentence, the researcher found that there is a tendency at almost of the sources is included to imperative sentence as a direction with totally amount 20 cases, 15 cases are included to imperative sentence as direction, then 4 cases of imperative sentence as prohibition, the last is 1 case of imperative sentence as command. As said by Swan that the meaning of direction is guidance or guideline, the instruction to do something, Imperative sentence as direction is used to give some guidance to someone else to do or to use some product in right way. Abstract

This study aimed to investigate: (1) Indonesian vowel pronunciation difficulties faced by Thai speakers, (2) Indonesian consonant pronunciation difficulties faced by Thai speakers, and (3) Causes of Indonesian pronunciation difficulties faced by Thai speakers. This study used a descriptive method. The data were taken  from recorded Indonesian pronunciation by four Thai exchange students at the University of Bengkulu. The data were analyzed through the transcription of the recorded pronunciation in the form of International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), the data were reduced to pronunciation difficulties by Thai speakers by drawing a conclusion and verification of data. The results of this study revealed that: (1) Thai speakers found it difficult in pronouncing some Indonesian vowel sounds (such as /a/, /u/, /e/, and /ǝ/) and diphthongs (/au/ and /oi/), (2) Thai speakers found it difficult in pronouncing some consonant sounds (such as /g/, /v/, /ŋ/, /r/, and /ñj/) and clusters (double and triple consonants), (3) The difficulties in pronouncing Indonesian vowel and consonant are likely to occur due to the language transfer (interference), simplification, reduction, over generalization, and addition. These are developmental errors which may reduce as they study Indonesian further by practicing intensively and interacting with the native speakers of Indonesia. Keywords: Pronunciation,  foreign speakers, language transfer, interference, simplification, reduction, overgeneralization, addition, developmental errors.

Abstract

The purpose of this analysis is to find out about how the influence of the Id, Ego and Super Ego of the teenage characters in the novel and to know that there is a kind of juvenile delinquency in the novel The Casual Vacancy (2012) Sigmund Freud. Theory about the condition of the human psyche is one theory which is often used, this theory helps in analyzing the psychological condition of a person in the face of the challenges of life in adolescents. By using qualitative descriptive methods the authors tried to explore any form of juvenile delinquency by Fagan (2006). Then the writers also delve more deeply about the psychological impact of juvenile delinquency by Sigmund Freuds theory that the id, ego and super ego. After analyzing the data, which in getting various quotations within the novel, the writers ultimately conclude that the dominant juvenile delinquency, are the use of cigarettes and drugs. Adolescent mental condition is always influenced by the presence of the id, ego and super-ego as it had been by Sigmund Freud describe through the theory of psychoanalysis. Juvenile delinquency largely influenced by his ego. It can be seen from the surrounding adolescent measures contained in the novel The Casual Vacancy (2012). Abstract

Social conflict is an event that we often overcome in our daily life. People usually face the social conflict by many attitudes. There are three kinds of social conflict, they are conflict between individual, inter-group conflict, and conflict between organizations. There are many ways of someone to express their thought about social conflict, One of them is by using beautiful combination of words that contains implicit meaning that makes that combination of words is hard to be understood. One of the famous poets is Robert Frost. Robert frost beautifully uses combination of words and metaphor to express his thinking of social conflict. By using descriptive qualitative method, the researcher is helped to pill off the meaning of the poem that closely related to social conflict in the selected poem of Robert Frost. After having analysis over the entire related source in this case in this case is poem, the researcher found that there is a tendency of the author of the poem, Robert Frost, in using the social conflict sense in presenting the poem. The implicit point of social conflict in the poem, most of them is included to conflict between individual, then the rest is included to inter-group conflict. As said by That condition is analogously with the theory of social conflict that is conflict between individual that stated Conflict between individual is conflict that occurs between one individual, to another individual or more. Abstract

This study is a focus description study, in which the researcher gave an attempt to analyze the meaning of each of the sentences or utterances that use metonymy. The theory by Panther and Thornburg (2004) was used to analyze the data. The analysis of the data were based on three types of metonymy. They are the referential metonymy, the predication metonymy and the illocutionary act metonymy. The results revealed that, from the aforementioned three types of metonymy, the types of metonymy that are frequently used are the referential and the predication because the two types are related to language newspaper which usually made with retelling a story. And three types at the least are the type that the illocutionary act because of the types associated with the act including in the pragmatic study cause language news rarely use direct act. Keywords :Metonymy, Discourse, Speech Acts, Structure, Lexicon

Abstract

Women are human beings that should have rights as well as men. In the past women were only wives and mothers. However, nowadays many women achieve high positions in the workplace and social life. This achievement would be impossible without the work of feminist that have struggled to fight for women empowerment. This paper discusses women empowerment struggle and development process in comparison between Australia and Indonesia from the beginning to the contemporary era deals with faith of the communities. The reasons, of studying these two countries are because the two countries are different in levels of development and culture. Australia is developed country that recognizable as a very multicultural country where being engaged in a religion is not compulsory where Muslim people is minority among the population, the majority of Australian that belief in faith are Christian; meanwhile Indonesia is a developing country that has the biggest Muslim populations in the world. The methodology of writing will be study of published literatures on the issue.
