Abstract

This study aims to find the relationship between compliance with HDI in East Java. With case study on Surabaya, Sidoarjo and Gresik. Where is expected to recover low HDI East Java in Java Island that year. The method to be used in this research is descriptive Quantitative research method. The first result, success in controlling the population both from the side of birth control and in-migration, will enable the achievement of a relatively low population density. As the population density diminishes, the government's education budget and health budget will have a more significant impact on improving education and public health. This will ultimately increase HDI, as education and health levels are a dimension in HDI measurement. Second, population control will increase income per capita. the income per capita (GRDP per capita) of GRDP is divided by the total population. With fewer populations, GDP per capita will tend to be higher. High income per capita will increase HDI growth.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of financial inclusion on financial system stability and its determinants in Southeast Asian countries from 2007 to 2015. A multidimensional index of financial inclusion (IFI) was used to analyze the financial inclusion index and panel data regression with Fixed Effect Model (FEM) was used to analyze the impact between variables. The estimation using IFI shows that Malaysia has the highest financial inclusion index and estimation using FEM shows that the financial inclusion variable has a negative and not significant impact on financial system stability. Other variables which have a positive and significant impact on financial system stability are GDP per capita, private credit ratio, and liquidity asset ratio. Otherwise, the financial openness index has a negative and significant impact on financial system stability.

Abstract

This study attempts to investigate the impact of Payment for Environmental Services (PES) on the socioeconomic status of local life. The socio-economic status examined is the total household expenditure to measure the level of nutritional welfare of people living in the area where the PES project is implemented. Not only total household expenditure, but also checking the poverty status of each household in the PES project area. The PES project areas analyzed are villages around Meru Betiri National Park, East Java and Segara Lake, Lombok. This study uses the Social Economy National Surveys (SUSENAS) by Central Beureu from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), before and after the implementation of two PES implementation projects to examine the effect of PES in each location and the two sites combined. To discuss the impact of PES, this study uses the Difference-in-Difference method and also combines Propensity Score Matching to get better results. it was found that statistically, PES projects had little significant impact on the socioeconomic status of local livelihoods. However, when viewed from the magnitude of the effect coefficient, the evidence shows that PES has positively affected local life. Furthermore, the effects of PES projects differ between each location.
