Abstract

Order picking is a process to fulfill customer order, with fast timing and provide high customer satisfaction. The order picking process is the highest cost in both manual and automatic systems, so it is necessary to improve efficiency and productivity. This study is aims to improve the productivity of order picking by shortening the distance. By choosing heuristic method using the application of interactive warehouse program, it is found that heuristic routing method can shorten picking distance. So, the routing heuristic method can increase the productivity of picking orders.

Abstract

This research was conducted on companies engaged in the manufacture of Speakers, Megaphones and Amplifiers. The purpose of this study is: to determine the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) value of a machine so that steps can be taken to improve the effectiveness of the machine, in addition to knowing the main root causes of damage that often occur on the machine, and knowing how to solve the problem so that it can increase the productivity of the machine. In addressing this, an analysis of the performance of the machine is done by determining the identification based on the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) calculation ratio, namely availability time, downtime, machine working time, total output, operating time, cycle time and defect amount. Then calculate and analyze the OEE value: Availability Rate, Performance Rate, Quality Rate, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and determine the value of Six Big Losses.The main causes of the low OEE value are the low Performance Rate with an average value of 75.01%, this is due to the value of Reduced Speed Losses which has the largest contribution in the six big losses.

Abstract

Today, trains being the most popular transportation mode. A lot of people choosing this transportation to hold for far destinations. Customer satisfaction is the important thing for all of industries, such as PT KAI. The completeness and renewal of facility in trains being one of factor for achieving that. Toilet is one of the most important support facilities on passengers train cars and indeed many complaints from passengers about it. Toilets located in passenger train cars have drawbacks, especially on the use of available space, material used, and cleanliness of the toilet. In this research doing design of HOE for toilet interior using Ergonomic Function Deployment (EFD) method.

Abstract

This research is conducted at an electronics company in Tangerang which produces a refrigerator with an average production capacity of 5,500 units per day. To improve productivity in the manufacturing process at the company has done several automation processes in several workstations that allow automation processes. Takt time reduce from 12 seconds to 8.5 seconds and the number of operators 80% decreased from 10 operators to only 2 operators. It also has the effect of reducing the possible risk of accidents for operators. Automation processes using robots have advantages in terms of process stability and ease in the adjustment of motion, making it particularly appropriate in automation processes in the manufacturing process industry. That is based on analysis conducted by using SWOT analysis method.

Abstract

Increased investment in the beverage industry sector has boosted the growth of the beverage industry while impacting the size of beverage packaging needs in Indonesia. PT. Indo Tirta Abadi as a company engaged in beverage packaging supply chains for the largest beverage companies in Indonesia seeks to maximize the company's performance to become the leading beverage packaging manufacturer in Indonesia. The problem is that the Injection Husky-8 engine that produces PET-Preform as the company's flagship product has increased the number of pending products and caused losses for the company. The aim of this study was to improve the achievement of OEE on the 8-Husky Injection machine. Analysis of the six big losses and fishbone diagrams is used to identify losses and their causes, then FMEA and 5W1H are used as tools to determine priority recommendations for improvements based on the level of risk of causing losses. The existing OEE value of Injection machines is 92.40%. This achievement is quite good when compared to word-class OEE but has not yet achieved the company's target. Based on the analysis, the dominant factors that have not achieved the OEE target are defects in process & rework and reduced speed. Priority improvements are needed, namely overcoming the crust of the barrel material and the burning runner at start-up, overcoming the high tower cooling temperature, and overcoming high feed temperature by purging with undried resin during engine startup, periodic cleaning and maintenance processes on the cooling unit tower, and install Premixer in feedthroath.

Abstract

Today, the development of information technology in the banking world is very fast. The dependence of banking on information technology is very high. Innovation is always strived to have excellence in customer service than competitors. PT. Bank Danamon provides Firewall Management System services to enable every activity to gain access to each application. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of Firewall Management system implementation in PT. Bank Danamon by adopting the DeLone and McLean models for the successful implementation of information systems. Sampling with questionnaire used in this research with 220 questionnaires distributed to users of IT infrastructure at PT. Bank Danamon, Kebon Sirih branch. Data processing and analysis in this research using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) method with assumption hour hypothesis using AMOS (Analysis Moment of Structural) statistic software. The result of analysis shows that information quality and system quality have positive and significant effect on user satisfaction, while service quality has no effect. The results also show that user satisfaction has positive and significant impact on individual performance.  Further research can improve the model and sampling method that will be used by other financial services.

Abstract

Six sigma is a method for improving processes that focus on reducing process variations using statistical approaches and effective problem solving. The purpose of this method is calculating the impact of six sigma applications to company productivity. Six sigma not only aims to achieve zero defect, with the Six Sigma method optimizing production (Productivity), Six sigma, supporting the proper procedures in line with business goals both system and process. With the DMAIC method, we get as much information as possible and as soon with the smallest sample unit of the experiment. From the results of the paper, Takt Time reduce, 9.2s à  8.5s proved by DMAIC analysis to get effective and efficient improvement that ultimately can improve the company's efficiency.

Abstract

PT. XYZ is automotive component manufacture that produce safety glass are tempered safety glass and laminate safety glass that are supplied to the car maker manufacture in domestic and overseas. Safety glass that are produced by PT. XYZ is for OEM (Original Equipment Manfacture) and ARG (Automotive Replacement Glass). Due to demand from customer always increase in every year, so many things that should be done for improvement on production line to increase production quantity resulted beside additional new production machine. The objective of this research is to improve the laminate production department on the trimming line where on this process is the latest production process that will determine finish good result. There is improvement that was done on this trimming production line is on the loading glass method that firstly is done manually by operator then changed by use supporting tools that is called felting. After kaizen is done, the production result that previously is 1,588 glasses per shift increase to be 1,791 glasses per shift or increase 12.8%. By this increasing production result is hoped the production plan on the next year and there is buffer stock if any additional demand suddenly. This kaizen implementation is suggested can be implemented in others process line that the loading glass method is still manually.

Abstract

High competition in the lubricants business results in customer services become a benchmark for the success of this business in Indonesia, One of the services provided is pegudangan system that is part of the supply chain system. The existence of obstacles in the process of handling in and out in a warehouse handling PT Petronas Niaga Indonesia resulted in the need for companies to choose a new warehouse as an alternative lubricants. The number of alternatives which can be used warehouse forced the company to make the process of pre-qualification and qualification process to obtain alternative lubricants warehouse priority desired by the company. In the pre-qualification process lubricants warehouse alternative screening process is done by using the weighted product method to reduce warehouse alternative lubricants in the process of qualifying criteria based lubricants warehouse needs. In the process of qualifying the selection process is then performed by Analytical method Hirarchy Process (AHP) using five criteria: cost, infrastructure, market, safety, and the macro environment. Each of these criteria are translated into sub-criteria. The results obtained qualification process priority is the best lubricant warehouse is PT GAC Samudra Logistics with the highest weight, followed by PT Wiraswasta Gemilang Indonesia and PT Jaya Puninar with weights respectively and PT GAC Samudra Logistics superior in infrastructure and safety criteria, while PT Wiraswasta Gemilang Indonesia superior at cost and market criteria.

Abstract

Law No 33 Year 20014 on halal product assurance affecting Indonesian market requirement of a product. Based on this regulation all products marketed in Indonesia must be a halal certified product. Flavor product is categorized as the material which requires halal certificate due to the complexity of the ingredients. Assessment Institute for Food, Drugs, and Cosmetic, The Indonesian Council of Ulama (AIFDC – ICU) taking the role as the halal certification body in Indonesia. Prerequisite program on halal certification is the implementation of Halal Assurance System (HAS). HAS contained eleven criteria, one of them is a written procedure for critical activities. This paper is to identify which stage of production activity that considered as critical activity. A qualitative empirical study performed in this research and the result showed that incoming material, production processes, quality inspection, packing, warehousing, and distribution are the critical activity in halal certified flavor production. Written procedure for critical activities cannot stand alone, this criteria is related to HAS criteria number four and six, material and production facility.
