Abstract

Teaching materials to help students understand the concept of social arithmetic and attract the attention of students is still lacking and does not motivate students in the learning process becomes a problem to do the research. Math module is one alternative teaching materials that can be used in the learning process. This research aims to develop a social arithmetic module using a problem solving approach students of class VII and assess the feasibility of the product being developed. The development of research in the Research and Development (R & D). Subjects were expert assessment of the product, math teacher of MTs Class VII and students of class VII MTs. Subjects to be tested in this study were students of class VII of MTs Maguwoharjo Sleman. The research instrument used was a questionnaire and the type of data used is the quantitative and qualitative data. Data collection techniques used were interview, documentation and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques were used: (1) data analysis product assessment by subject matter experts and media experts, (2) data analysis product trials, analysis of trial data usage. The results of the research and development of social arithmetic module using a problem solving approach to the VII class of SMP / MTs. The results of the feasibility test of the material included in both criteria with an average score of 29.5 out of a maximum score of 40. For the feasibility study media included in both criteria with an average score of 30 out of a maximum score of 40. While the results of the student questionnaire responses into the product trials both criteria with an average score of 39 out of a maximum score of 48. The results of the questionnaire responses of students to test usage included in both criteria with an average score of 39.22 out of a maximum score of 48. The results shown that social arithmetic material module using a problem solving approach to the claass VII in SMP / MTs eligible for use in the learning process.

Abstract

Low of student mathematics learning outcomes are related to several factors. Self Confidence, learning discipline, and use of learning resources is some of the factors related to learning outcomes. This research aims to determine the presence or absence of a positive and significant relationship among confidence, learning discipline, and use of learning resources with mathematics learning outcomes in students class VIII of even Semester of  MTsN Yogyakarta II in the academic year of 2015/2016. The population in this study was the girl students of grade VIII in MTsN Yogyakarta II in the academic year of 2015/2016, which was divided into 4 classes, namely VIII D, VIII E, VIII F, VIII G totaling 137 students. Samples were taken in class VIII E as research class sample and with random sampling technique to the class. Data was collected by questionnaire and test method. The research instrument were validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Test requirement analysis includes test of normality, linearity, and the independence. Analysis of the data for testing hypothesis using correlation and linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship among self confidence, learning discipline, and use of learning resources with mathematics learning outcomes students of class VIII of even Semester in MTsN Yogyakarta II in the academic year of 2015/2016. It was showed by Fcount =  Ftable = 2.9011 with R = 0.511998 and R2 = 0.2621 with , with SR = 30.7344 , SR = 18.5067% ,and SR = 50.75895% SE = , SE = and SE = 13.3060524 %.

Abstract

This study was conducted because of the low interaction mathematics learning. The purpose of this study seeks to increasing interaction of mathematics learning in class VIII B of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping on second semester in academic year 2015/2016 using Model Cooperative Learning Think Pair Share. This research was classroom action research. The subjects were students of class VIII B of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping many as 30 students. The object of research is the application of Model Cooperative Learning Think Pair Share. Data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and tests. Analysis of data using data analysis observation, analysis of interview data and test. This research is consisting of three cycles that include planning, action, observation and reflection. Research result showed that increased interaction study mathematics. Based on the observation of the data are the average percentage increase interaction mathematics learning in each cycle an average of 55% to the category of "enough" in Cycle I to 58.05% with the category of "enough" in Cycle II became 79.17% with category of "strong" in Cycle III. The increase also occurred at an average of 65.34 cycles of the test results on the first cycle increased to 76.5 in Cycle II subsequently rose to 81.67 in Cycle III. And on mastery learning from 60% in the first cycle increased to 73.34% in Cycle II then increased again to 80% in Cycle III. Thus the results of the comparison between the results achieved with the targets set, has also shown that optimal results.

Abstract

The failures of students learning are related to many factors, such as, low interest in learning something, low discipline, and less-supportive learning environment. This research intends to know the presence or absence the positive and significant correlation among learning interest, discipline and learning environment with mathematics learning outcomes of eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Banguntapan, Bantul Regency, the first semester of the 2015/2016 academic year. The population in this research is the eighth-grade students amounting to 5 classes. The class sample was taken from the class VIII-A, and the class test was taken from the class VIII-E by random sampling technique. Data collecting technique was done by questionnaire method and testing method. The test of research instruments involves validity test, reliability test, and different power test. The test of analysis preconditions involves normality test, linearity test, and independence test. The analysis of data used product moment correlation analysis and double linear regression analysis. The result of research showed that there is a positive and significant correlation among learning interest, discipline, and learning environment with mathematics learning outcomes, as well as Ŷ = -28,5840 + 0,2766 X1 + 0,2412 X2 + 0,2788 X3  and SR X1= 38,181%, SR X2 = 6,593% and SR X3= 35,226%.

Abstract

This reasearch was conducted because of the low activity of student learning in mathematics at school. For that it need an efforts to improve students' learning activeness. This study aims to improve the activeness of mathematics learning in sudent of class VIIIC of SMP Negeri 1 Selomerto Wonosobo through Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model of semester II in academic year of 2015/2016. This reasearch was a classroom action research consisted of two cycles. The subject of this research is class VIIIC of SMP Negeri 1 Selomerto Wonosobo in academic year of 2015/2016. While the object under study is the effort to increase the activity of learning mathematics through cooperative learning model TPS. Instruments used observation sheet and questionnaire. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion triangulation. The results showed that the learning model TPS can increase the activeness of mathematics learning for students in class VIIIC in second semester of SMP Negeri 1 Selomerto Wonosobo in the academic year of 2015/2016. Percentage activity of learning mathematics increased each cycle. In the first cycle with an average of 49.74% with a criterion being, in Cycle II was increased so that the second cycle the average percentage of 65.97% with high criteria.

Abstract

This research was done because there are many students who are less active in learning. Students do not want to ask about the material they have not understood that the learning outcomes obtained less than the maximum. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of mathematics learning by using strategies question giving and getting answer compared using expository strategy on learning outcomes math of students in class XI of SMK Negeri 1 Pundong Bantul District even Semester in the academic year 2015/2016. This research design was control group posttest-only design. The population in this research was a class XI TKJ A, XI TKJ B, and XI TITL A student of SMK Negeri 1 Pundong. Samples were taken using random sampling techniques derived class XI TKJ B as an experiment class and class XI TKJ A as the control class. The data collection is done with test method. Testing instrument using validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using analysis prerequisite test including normality test with Chi-square formula, homogeneity test with Bartlett's test, and hypothesis testing using t-test. Based on calculations with significance level  and degrees of freedom of 60, the conclusion that: (1) there are differences in learning outcomes of students learning math using active learning strategies type of giving question and getting answer by learning to use expository strategies. This is indicated by the results of the first test hypothesis that  that is .(2) learning to use active learning strategies type of  giving question and getting  answer more effective than learning to use strategies expository. It is shown from the results of the second test the hypothesis that  that is .

Abstract

The lack of seriousness and independence of student learning, logically thinking ability of students who have not undeveloped, and learning environment at home that is not condusive are factors which affect the results of learning mathematics. This research aims to determine whether there is a positive and significant relationship among learning independence, logically thinking ability and learning environment at home with mathematics learning outcomes of students grade XI of audio video mechanical (AVM) deparment in SMK Negeri 1 Pundong Bantul Yogyakarta in even semester in academic year of 2015/2016. The population in this research is a class XI AVM student of SMK Negeri 1 Pundong. Samples were taken using the techniques random sampling and obtained a class XI AVM as a sample. The data collection was conducted by questionnaire and tests. Testing instrument using validity test, different power test and reliability test. Data were analyzed using analysis prerequisite test including normality test and independently using Chi-square formula, linearity test using the formula F-test and hypothesis testing using t-test. The results showed a positive and significant correlation between: (1) learning independence with mathematics learning outcomes, with = 0,1534 and  = X1;(2) the ability to think logically with mathematics learning outcomes, with 0,3524 and  = X2; (4) learning and the ability to think logically with mathematics learning outcomes, with 0,4276 and  = ; (6) the ability to think logically and learning environment at home with mathematics learning outcomes, with  0,3628 and  = (; (7) learning independent, the ability to think logically and learning environment at home with mathematics learning outcomes, with 0,4276 and  = (.

Abstract

This research is done because of the application of usual teaching system that is dominated by teacher and the learning teaching process is not enjoyable, so that it needs the teaching method involving the students in order the students will be more active and consider learning is enjoyable. This research is purposed to know the effectiveness of Problem Posing type Post Solution Posing and cooperative type of Think Pair Square (TPSQ) learning model for students at seventh grade in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sleman in even semester of academic year 2015/2016. The kind of this research is experimental research. The population in this research is the students at seventh grade in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Sleman of academic year 2015/2016, which is divided into three classes in total ninety six students. Sample taking used random sampling technique so it can be got in class VII C as the experimental class I (Post Solution Posing) and class VII A as the experimental class II (Think Pair Square (TPSQ)). The collecting data is done using documentation and test methods. The analysis data technique used is to pre-requirement analysis test including normality test using Chi-Square formula, homogeneity test using Barlett test formula, and Hypotheses test using t-test. The research’s result in significant level of 5% and db = 62 shows that: (1) there is a difference between the result in learning mathematics in students learning mathematics using Problem Posing type of Post Solution Posing learning model to the students using cooperative type of TPSQ. It is shown in the result of first hypotheses test, it results value  = 2,581 >  = 1,99962. (2) Problem Posing type of Post Solution Posing is more effective compared by cooperative type of TPSQ. This is seen using the result of second hypotheses test, it results value  = 2,581 >  = 1,67017.

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of mathematics learning by using Learning Cycle 5E model toward learning outcomes of students' mathematics of class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan district Sleman in Even Semester in Academic Year 2015/2016. This was control group posttest only. The population in this research were students class VII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Kalasan district Sleman. Samples were taken using random sampling techniques derived class VII A as an experimental class and class VII C as the control class. The data collection is done with test method. Testing instrument using validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using analysis prerequisite test including normality test with the formula Chi-square, homogeneity test by test Bartlett, and hypothesis testing with t-test. Based on calculations by the significant level  5% and the degrees of freedom 58, we concluded that: (1) There is differences in learning outcomes of students learning math using Learning Cycle 5E Instructional Model with learning using direct Learning Model. This is indicated by the results of the first test of the hypothesis that  2,406  >  = 2,002 (2) learning using Learning Cycle 5E Instructional Model is more effective than learning using direct Learning Model. It is shown on the second hypothesis that the test results  2,406 >  = 1,671.

Abstract

The use of less precise learning model makes students less understand with the material explained by teachers and cause to low learning outcome in mathematics. This study aims to determine which is more effective between cooperative learning model of TAI and NHT on the results of students' mathematics learning. The population in this study were students of grade X techniques vehicles light (TVL) of SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati Sleman in academic year of 2015/2016. Technique sampling using random sample of the class and the grade XA TVL as the class that uses cooperative learning type of TAI, and grade XB TVL as a class using type of cooperative learning of NHT. Data collection technique is to use the test. The research instrument is the mathematics result test in the form of an objective questions. Instruments test include validity, distinguishing capacity and reliability testing. Analysis of the data used is the prerequisite test analysis consists of a normality test and homogeneity test. Then the hypothesis test using t-test two sides and one side. Based on the calculation of  t-test in two sides in this research with a significant level of α = 5% and degrees of freedom df = 48, then obtained which means that there are differences in learning mathematics result between students learning using cooperative learning model type of TAI with students whose learning using cooperative learning model type of NHT. And based on the calculation of t-test in one side with significance level α = 5% and degrees of freedom df = 48, then obtained which means that the learning mathematics using cooperative learning model of TAI type is more effective than using NHT type on the students' mathematics learning outcome in class X TVL of SMK Muhammadiyah Mlati Sleman in the Academic Year of 2015/2016.
