Abstract

A conventional learning model that is still used in the mathematics learning process at school causing less active students in the class because they are just sitting, listening, and make a note when the teacher explains the lesson. This is experimental research aimed at finding out the cooperative learning model's effectiveness between type TGT (Teams Games Tournament) and NHT (Numbered Heads Together). This research population consists of 4 classes from seventh-grade students in State Junior High School 1 Turi Sleman (SMPN 1 Turi Sleman) in 2017/2018. This research uses a purposive sampling technique, where VII C and VII B as an experimental class. Instrument tests include validity tests, power differentiator tests, and reliability tests. In analyzing the data, this research uses an analysis prerequisite test consisting of a normality test and homogeneity test. The hypothesis test uses two t-tests and a one-party test. Two t-tests, with a significant level of 5% and 61 degrees of freedom, show that  and =1,99996 with the result  > . It shows that  denied and  accepted, which means there are differences in learning mathematics results in seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Turi Sleman using cooperative learning model type TGT with type NHT. Based on the calculation of a one-party t-test with a significant level of 5% and 61 degrees of freedom, it shows that  and = 1.670385 with the result > . This indicates that   is denied and  accepted, which means that cooperative learning model type TGT is more effective than type NHT reviewed by mathematics learning result of the seventh-grade students SMPN 1 Turi district Sleman in the academic year 2017/2018.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media on a linear program with Macromedia Flash 8 HOTS exercises for SMA/MA students in class XI. This research is included in the research and development using the development model of ADDIE consisting of five-phase, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subject is media experts, material experts, and student response of State Senior High School (SMA Negeri) 1 Kasihan and SMA Negeri 1 Sanden Kabupaten Bantul. Data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires, observation, interviews, and exercises were done before developing the product. The research instrument used is observation sheet, interview sheet, and questioners to assess the interactive learning media that has been developed. The data analysis technique uses qualitative analysis that is converted into a Likert scale cumulative value. The results of the expert assessment of the media obtained an average score 4,58 very good category, by the expert assessment of the materials obtained an average score of 4,50 very good category, the student responses to the technical quality assessed in the small-scale trials obtained an average of 4,17 good category, and the student responses to the technical quality assessed in the classroom usage test scored an average of 4,44 very good category. Based on the average, the learning media of mathematics developed is a media of mathematics learning.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the number of students who often come late to school and the poor students' poor way of greeting teachers. This study aimed to determine whether or not the relationship between the learning discipline and school environment with the student mathematics learning outcomes of class X even semester even of the Light Vehicle Engineering Program of Muhammadiyah Vocational High School (SMK Muhammadiyah) Imogiri academic year 2017/2018 or not. The population in this research was all students of class X, even semester program of expertise of Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Muhammadiyah Imogiri academic year 2017/2018, consisting of 6 classes with 211 students. A sample was established using a random sampling of the class and obtained class X TKR 1 with an amount of student 30 people. Methods of data collection using questionnaires to obtain data of learning discipline and school environment and test instrument to obtain mathematics learning result data. The instruments were analyzed of their validity, reliability, discriminant, and difficulty. Data analysis in the form of the prerequisite test included a normality test, linearity test, and independence tests. The hypothesis test consisted of a simple linear regression test and multiple linear correlation-regression tests. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between the learning discipline and the school environment with mathematics learning outcomes of students of class X semester, even the expertise program of Light Vehicle Engineering SMK Muhammadiyah Imogiri academic year 2017/2018. This is shown by Fcount ≥ Ftable with R = 0,521089029 and R2 = 0.2715337761 with Ŷ=13.268027 + 0,4152482X1 + 0,2961205X2, with RC X1 = 75.1%, RC X2 = 24,9%, EC X1= 20,4%, and EC X2= 6,8%.

Abstract

High order thinking skill (HOTS)-oriented PBL learning model emphasizes the use of real problems that can entice students to think high-level in solving problems. This study aims to find more effective learning between mathematics learning using the HOTS-oriented PBL model with mathematics learning using the direct model of mathematics learning outcomes. This study population was all students of class X Muhammadiyah Vocational High School Light Vehicle Engineering 1 Bambanglipuro ( SMK 1 Muhammadiyah Bambanglipuro) academic year 2017/2018, which amounted to 184 students. Samples taken by two classes using the Random Sampling technique, obtained class X Light Vehicle Engineering (TKR) F as control class and class X TKR E as experiment class. The technique of collecting data using the test method. Instrument testing uses validity test and reliability test. The data analysis technique used for the prerequisite test is the normality test with Chi-Square and homogeneity test with the F test formula, while for hypothesis test with t-test. The results showed that at a 5% significant level and dk = 56, it was concluded that        (1) there was a difference in mathematics learning results among students whose learning using HOTS-oriented PBL model with students using a direct model. This is indicated by the value = 2,8166 >   = 2,0045. (2) Mathematics learning using the HOTS-oriented PBL model is more effective than mathematics learning using a direct model of mathematics learning result. This is shown by  = 2,8166 >  = 1,6733.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of a mathematical learning module on the material of sequence numbers and series in school. This study aims to develop the module of mathematical learning on the material of the pattern of sequence number and series for class X students of Vocational High School (SMK), which is used as independent teaching materials of the students. This research using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model consisting of five main stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study's subjects are material experts, media experts, and vocational school students in two schools: SMKN 1 Pleret and SMK Diponegoro Depok. The data collection method techniques using questionnaires. Simultaneously, the data analysis techniques using qualitative data are converted into quantitative data with a Likert scale. The research results showed that the development of mathematical learning modules included in good categories based on a questionnaire by a media expert with a score of 120. Average results by three material experts in excellent categories with a score of 86. The questionnaire responses of small class students obtained by 75,87 with very good categories and questionnaire responses of large class students were obtained by 74,87 with very good categories—the results based on the research that the mathematical learning module is proper to use in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Insufficient teaching media cause a lack of students' interests in mathematics. Moreover, they have difficulty to understand more about statistics. Therefore, we need a teaching media for Statistics E-Modul. This research is aimed to develop teaching media, especially Statistics E-module for grade XII students of vocational high school (SMK). Furthermore, it is also aimed to know how feasible this E-module from a financial point of view and how good of students' responses to this media.  The type of this research is development research. It uses research and development. They are elaborated in some stages, such a problem identification, data collection, product, and good design, product revision, trial usage, product revision, and mass production. The subject of this research is SMK N 1 Sanden and SMK 1 Muhammadiyah Bambanglipuro. Meanwhile, the object of the study is a statistics e-module based on Edmodo with a realistic approach oriented HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) for grade XII students of vocational high school. There are two types of data. Those are qualitative and quantitative. The data collection uses interviews and questionnaires, which will be done before product development, is done. The instrument of the research is the guidelines of interview and questionnaire to rate the E-Module. The data analysis technique is a quantitative analysis that will be changed into qualitative analysis using a Likert scale.  The research result showed that the result of scoring instrument from the expert with the average score 124.7 is in the level good. The result of the research showed that the result of the scoring instrument fro the expert with the average score 91.7 is in the level very good. Moreover, the instrument of students’ responses with the average score 85.53 is in the level very good. Based on the scoring result from the expert, media expert, students' responses to the development of teaching media statistics e-module based on Edmodo with a realistic approach oriented HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill)  for grade XII students of vocational high school is feasible to apply in the learning process.

Abstract

The teacher still does learning so that it has not allowed students to develop independence through finding and thought processes. Therefore, critical thinking becomes very less. The purpose of this study is to find out the values of students' critical thinking learning using the PBL learning model and direct learning model and compare the effectiveness of PBL learning model and direct learning model to critical thinking skills of students of Class VII of State Junior High School 3 Kasihan (SMP Negeri 3 Kasihan) Bantul in Academic Year of 2017/2018. The population of this study is all of the students of class VII. The samples were taken by using a random sampling technique. As the experiment class was Class VII and as the control class was Class VII A. The data collecting of this study using the essay test. The data collecting instrument of this study by using the validity test and reliability test. The data analysis technique used a prerequisite analysis test. There are normality test and homogeneity test, and hypothesis test using a t-test. The result of a significant level of 5% and df =60 showed that: (1) there was a different ability between students' critical thinking, which used the PBL learning model with a direct learning model. The value of  = 2,682884 shows it>  = 2,0003 and (2) the PBL learning model more effective than the direct learning model toward students' critical thinking ability. This research showed that the  = 2,682884 >  = 1,6706.

Abstract

Limited learning resources is a problem that affects the achievement of learning goals. The school does not have a mathematics learning module with a contextual approach. This research aims to create modules as mathematics teaching materials and know the quality of the module in terms of the feasibility of content, presentation, and conformity with the contextual approach's characteristics and principles and know the students' responses to the mathematics module. The type of research is development research. This research model used is research and development that developed, including identifying potential and problem, collecting the information, designing a product, design validation, design revision, experiment, product revision, and product test. This research's subjects are teachers of mathematics, ICT teachers, and students. The object is The Development of Mathematics Module in Linear Equation System Two Variables Material with Contextual Approach for Grade VIII Students SMP/ MTs. The type of data used is qualitative data, which is then converted into quantitative data. The data collecting technique used is the form of interviews and questionnaires. The instrument tests are performed by material experts, media experts, and students. The data analysis used is descriptive analysis, and questionnaire analysis. Based on the research results obtained from material experts' assessment, an average score is 129.33 included in the very good category, the assessment of media experts an average score is 136.33 included in the very good category. Student responses to the module indicate that an average score is 133.86 included in the very good category. Based on the assessment of research from material experts, media experts, and students' responses to the development of mathematics modules in line are equation system two variables material with a contextual approach for grade VIII students, SMP/MTs is feasible the learning process.

Abstract

The results of interviews in SMK Negeri 1 Pleret country found some problems that numerical ability is still lacking, assuming that mathematics is a difficult lesson or complicated. Social, economic parents are still less, such as inadequate facilities, and the result of student learning mathematics is still low. This research aims to determine the presence or absence of positive and significant the relationship between numerical ability, student’s perception of mathematics, and social, economic parents to mathematics learning outcomes in students class X TITL of State Vocational High School 1 Pleret (SMK Negeri 1 Pleret) Bantul in Even Semester in Academic Year of 2017/2018. This research population was the students of X TITL of SMK Negeri 1 Pleret Bantul in 2017/2018, consisting of class X TITL A, X TITL B, X TITL C, totaling 101 students. Class X TITL B was selected as a class of research samples with a random sampling technique. The writer uses the questionnaire method to collect the data of student's perception of mathematics and social, economic parents, and test method to get data of numerical ability and the resulting learning of math. The research instrument: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Test requirement analysis includes a test of normality, a test of linearity, and independence. The writer uses product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear Regression analysis to analyze the data. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between numerical ability, students' perception of mathematics, and social, economic parents with mathematics learning outcomes in students class X TITL of SMK Negeri 1 Pleret Bantul in Even Semester in Academic Year of 2016/2017. Abstract

The ability to solve problems is one of the 21st-century skills that students master. In school, there are various cognitive styles in solving math problems. So it is necessary to describe the problem-solving skills of students of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 3 Kasihan Bantul class VIII in terms of the cognitive style of field-dependent (FD) and field independent (FI) of the academic year 2017/2018.  This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject of research consists of 2 students whose cognitive style FD and two students cognitive FI style. The instrument used in this research consists of the main instrument that is self-researcher. The auxiliary instruments are Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT) and Problem Solving Testing (TKPM). For data collection techniques used are GEFT, TKPM, and interviews. To obtain data consistency, used technique triangulation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the subject of FD tends to think globally in solving the problem. Subjects have used three problem-solving indicators: understanding the problem by repeated reading, planning by analyzing, implementing plans that have been prepared to get the results of completion, and drawing conclusions. At the same time, the subject of FI is more analytical in solving the problem. The subject has used three troubleshooting indicators, understood the problem by repeated reading, drafted a settlement plan from the information obtained, executed the plan developed to get the result of completion, and drew conclusions. The subject of FD and FI equally did not re-examine the answer.
