Abstract

This study aims to describe the estimation point of measurement error in mathematics tests using the classic theory and to find out the effect of the estimation model of measurement errors. This study population is all participant answer sheets of UN SMA mathematic test conducted in 2009/2010 academic year in the city of Yogyakarta in the form of a multiple choice test. The sample was established by stratified proportional systematic random sampling. The data were in the form of  documentation and analyzed with  the Iteman program. The model used for the analysis is Thorndike, , Kristoff, and Feldt models The research results can be summarized as follows. For the error estimation model with the classic theory, the average error estimation of the mathematics test is in the range of  2.65742  £ SEM £  3.544352. In the classic theory, Thorndike model yields the biggest measurement error estimation, which means Thorndike model is the most effective model to estimate measurement error in a mathematic test.

Abstract

Heuristic strategy is one of the mathematics problem solving strategies to gain effective results. This research aimed to analyze the use of the heuristic strategies based on the modification of the Krulik and Rudnik model. This research discovered and classified the students’ heuristic strategies which can be used as a basis to provide assistance in the learning. This research was a qualitative research involving 32 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Yogyakarta as its subjects. The research variables are the indicators of the Krulik and Rudnik heuristic models which the students performed including: read and think, explore and plan, select a strategy, find and answer, as well as reflect and extend. The data was taken through questionnaire and interview methods. The result suggested that: 2 students (6.25%) were in the good category as they did all of the heuristic strategies more often; 21 students (65.62%) were in the fair category since they implemented some indicators of the heuristic strategies; and 9 students (28.13%) were in the poor category since they were lack in implementing the heuristic strategies. In all categories, indicator of find and answer was more oftenly done by the students while the indicator of explore and plan was less done.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan kepada guru matematika SMP untuk mengembangkan instrumen tes matematika SMP. Peserta pelatihan ini terdiri atas 12 guru dari 4 sekolah yaitu SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean, SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping, SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Minggir, dan SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Godean. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian adalah melalui ceramah, diskusi, dan proyek. Pada kegiatan ceramah pemateri meyampaikan materi tentang teknik penambangan instrumen penilaian sesuai dengan prosedur yang baku dilanjutkan dengan diskusi. Setelah diskusi, peserta pelatihan megerjakan tugas proyek berupa menyusun instrument tes mata pelajaran matematika SMP, menganalisis secara kualitatif, mengujicobakannya, dan menganalisis berdasar data empirik. Melalui pelatihan ini peserta memeroleh keterampilan dalam mengembangkan instrument penilaian tes matematika SMP. Kegiatan ini telah menghasilkan perangkat instrument tes pilihan ganda untuk mata pelajaran matematika SMP untuk materi perbandingan, bangun datar, dan   hubungan antar sudut yang terstandar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan karena masih rendahnya kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT (Teams Games Tournaments) terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Banguntapan Kabupaten Bantul tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Populasi penelitian seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Banguntapan kecuali siswa kelas VII G dan VII H. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sampling yaitu pengambilan sampel dengan cara undian kelas. Dari undian kelas diperoleh kelas VII B sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII E sebagai kelas kontrol. Kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika diperoleh menggunakan metode tes. Pengujian instrumen menggunakan uji validitas, uji daya pembeda dan uji reliabilitas dengan Cronbach Alpha. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk uji prasyarat adalah uji normalitas dengan Chi-Kuadrat dan uji homogenitas dengan uji-F, sedangkan uji hipotesis dengan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil uji-t dua pihak diperoleh dan , sehingga dengan taraf signifikan 5% dan dk = 54 menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT berbeda dengan siswa yang menggunakan metode ekspositori. Dari uji-t satu pihak diperoleh sehingga dengan taraf signifikan 5% dan dk = 54 menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TGT lebih efektif daripada model pembelajaran menggunakan metode ekspositori terhadap kemampuan memecahkan masalah matematika.

Abstract

Pembelajaran dikatakan efektif apabila dapat merespon kebutuhan khusus siswa. Hal tersebut dikarenakan adanya perbedaan individual pada siswa, diantaranya adalah perbedaan jenis kelamin dan perbedaan gaya belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui pengaruh jenis kelamin terhadap hasil belajar matematika, (2) Mengetahui pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika, dan (3) Mengetahui pengaruh interaksi jenis kelamin dan gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan populasi penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Negeri di kabupaten Bantul. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan Random Sampling terhadap kelas dan didapatkan kelas VIII A sebagai kelas sampel dan kelas VIII D sebagai kelas uji coba. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan tes. Uji instrumen yang digunakan adalah uji validitas, daya pembeda, taraf kesukaran, dan uji reliabilitas. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji prasyarat meliputi uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas, dilanjutkan dengan uji hipotesis menggunakan analisis variansi dua jalan dengan sel tak sama. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh: (1) Nilai dan sehingga , artinya tidak ada pengaruh jenis kelamin terhadap hasil belajar matematika. (2) Nilai dan sehingga, artinya tidak ada pengaruh gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika. (3) Nilai dan sehingga, artinya tidak ada pengaruh interaksi jenis kelamin dan gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar matematika.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of a mathematical learning module on the material of sequence numbers and series in school. This study aims to develop the module of mathematical learning on the material of the pattern of sequence number and series for class X students of Vocational High School (SMK), which is used as independent teaching materials of the students. This research using the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model consisting of five main stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This study's subjects are material experts, media experts, and vocational school students in two schools: SMKN 1 Pleret and SMK Diponegoro Depok. The data collection method techniques using questionnaires. Simultaneously, the data analysis techniques using qualitative data are converted into quantitative data with a Likert scale. The research results showed that the development of mathematical learning modules included in good categories based on a questionnaire by a media expert with a score of 120. Average results by three material experts in excellent categories with a score of 86. The questionnaire responses of small class students obtained by 75,87 with very good categories and questionnaire responses of large class students were obtained by 74,87 with very good categories—the results based on the research that the mathematical learning module is proper to use in mathematics learning.

Abstract

Several factors can cause low student learning outcomes. Independence learning, parents' attention, and utilization of learning resources are possibly related to learning outcomes. This research aims to determine the presence or absence of a positive and significant the relationship between independent learning, parent's attention, and utilization of learning resource to Mathematics Learning Outcomes in Students Class VIII of State Junior High School (SMP Negeri) 3 Sumbang Purwokerto Central Java in Even Semester in Academic Year of 2018/2019. The population in this research was the students of VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Sumbang Purwokerto Central Java in the academic year of 2018/2019, consisted of class  VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D, VIII E, totaling 192 students. Class VIII A is a sample class that was taken with the random sampling technique. The writer uses the questionnaire method to collect independent learning data, parents' attention, and the utilization of a learning resource and test method to get the resulting math results. The research instrument: validity test, different power test, and reliability test. Test requirement analysis includes a test of normality, a test of linearity, and independence. The writer uses product-moment correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis to analyze the data. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between independence learning, parents' attention, and the utilization of learning resources with mathematics learning outcomes in students class VIII of SMP Negeri 3 Sumbang Purwokerto Central Java Even Semester Academic Year of 2018/2019. Abstract

The application of conventional learning models in school plus student's mindset that mathematics is difficult, too many questions, too many formulas, making the lack of interest in learning mathematics of students, consequently the learning of mathematics unattractive so that influence on student learning result of the student. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of cooperative learning model type Jigsaw and Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) to the results of learning mathematics. The population in Gamping (SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Gamping) Sleman Regency 2016/2017 academic year is divided into three classes, which amounts to 110 students. Two classes took samples with a random sampling technique. They obtained Class VIIIC as Experiment Class I, Class VIIIB as Experiment Class II, and Class VIIIA as Trial Class. Data analysis techniques used include a prerequisite test using normality test with Chi-Square formula, homogeneity test with F test, and hypothesis test with T-test. The results showed that: (1) There was no difference in mathematics learning results between the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model and Student Team Achievement Division (STAD). This is indicated by the value Tcount = -0.08566 <Ttable = 1.99394 at a significant level of 5% and df = 71. (2) There is nothing better between the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model and the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) type. (3) Jigsaw cooperative learning model and Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes.
