JIPI (Jurnal Ilmu Perpustakaan dan Informasi) is a journal of Library and Information Science published by the Library and Information Science Department of Social Sciences Faculty, State Islamic University of Sumatera Utara (UIN Sumatera Utara) Medan. The journal covers all issues in librarianship and information studies. The coverage of the discussion in librarianship may be viewed from various perspectives of disciplines. JIPI is intended to be published twice a year in May and November. In addition to its electronic format, it is also published in a printed form.

<![CDATA[Abstract(Objectives) The purpose of writing this paper is to explain the process of making industrial trees (interactive) as an information service development activity carried out by the Center for Scientific Data and Documentation (PDDI) which is useful for the community because it provides an overview and stimulates entrepreneurs to carry out and develop product diversification with economic value through the schematic presented. (Method) The stages of making an industrial tree start from topic selection, literature search, article selection and analysis, then proceed with visualization which is then posted on the web.. (Findings) The result of this research showed that audit experience, audit expertise, and locus of control significantly positive affect audit judgment taken by the auditor. This article will discuss the implementation of the STBI "Search Operation" to help students find information according to their needs. This also relates to the online learning process. This article uses a qualitative method using descriptive analysis method. The purpose of this article is to assist students in implementing STBI "Search Operations" and provide an understanding of the effects of "Search Operations" in the online learning process and improve student literacy skills.]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perilaku pencarian informasi beasiswa Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro melalui media online. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dalam melakukan pemilihan informan. Teknik pengambilan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur dan wawancara mendalam kepada 13 informan Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro. Penelitian ini menggunakan thematic analysis sebagai metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro membutuhkan informasi beasiswa dikarenakan adanya beberapa tujuan yang harus dipenuhi salah satunya yaitu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan finansial. Sehingga yang mendorong mahasiswa melakukan kegiatan pencarian informasi beasiswa dengan menggunakan berbagai sumber informasi media online seperti search engine google, website, instagram, facebook, twitter, line dan whatsapp. Kegiatan pencarian informasi beasiswa dimulai dengan menggunakan sumber informasi yang pernah digunakan mahasiswa sebelumnya atau dengan bertanya kepada teman atau relasi dan kegiatan pencarian diakhiri dengan menggabungkan informasi, mendaftar dan menyiapkan berkas persyaratan, membagikan informasi beasiswa serta memantau kembali perkembangan update informasi beasiswa. Kegiatan pencarian informasi beasiswa mengalami beberapa hambatan diantaranya mahasiswa kesulitan dalam menentukan kata kunci yang tepat, terkendala akses internet, terkendala terkait karakteristik atau kualitas sumber informasi beasiswa serta kredibilitas informasi beasiswa yang masih rendah karena beberapa penyedia sumber informasi beasiswa kurang menyaring dan mengkroscek keakuratan informasi beasiswa sebelum dibagikan ke publik.]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis 64 artikel yang terdapat pada Journal Of English Language Teaching Volume 8 Tahun 2019 dengan menggunakan metode kuantitatif melalui teknik Bibliometrika Evaluatif yaitu Analisis Sitiran. Volume ini memiliki 4 nomor yang setiap nomornya memiliki jumlah artikel yang berbeda-beda. Nomor 1 terdapat 475 buah sitiran, nomor 2 terdapat 50 buah sitiran, nomor 3 terdapat 273 buah sitiran, dan nomor 4 terdapat 217 buah sitiran. Sitiran yang dianalisis terdapat 1016 buah sitiran. Hasil dari analisis ini diperoleh usia paro hidup Journal Of English Language Teaching Volume 8 Tahun 2019 sebesar 15,75 tahun dengan sitiran yang sudah usang sebanyak 269 buah sitiran (26,47%) dan sitiran yang baru sebanyak 747 buah sitiran (73,53%). Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan analisis ini karya ilmiah akan ditulis pada tahun berikutnya disarankan mengambil referensi tidak lebih dari 15,75 tahun dari karya tulis yang dibuat.]]>

<![CDATA[The school library is one of the crucial supporting facilities in learning. This study aims to describe the optimization of school libraries through the SLiMS application. This research is a qualitative research with the type of descriptive research. The data source in this study is the SLiMS application while the data is the use of the SLiMS application at the Surakarta Special Program Batik Junior High School for optimizing the school library. Data collection techniques are content analysis, observation and note-taking techniques. The data analysis method in this study uses an interactive model of Milles and Hubberman. The results of the study show that the optimization of the school library can be done by using the SLiMS application. This application can be used by librarians to manage school libraries. The optimizations are (1) arranging library administration for the Surakarta Special Program Batik Middle School, (2) classifying the books in the library, and (3) cataloging and attaching labels to books. With this optimization, it is hoped that it will support student achievement and higher interest in library.]]>

<![CDATA[This research discusses the implementation of Reading Culture in Developing Student’s Reading Interest in SDIT X di Depok. The goal of this research is to identify the implementation of Reading Culture in developing student’s reading interest with reading habituation. This research uses qualitative approach with case study method, and held from January 4th to June 14th 2020. The informants of this study were 7 (seven) students of sixth grade, the head of library, and the initiator of Reading Culture. The research of this study aims to show the implementation of Reading Culture in developing student’s reading interest. The findings in the implementation of Reading Culture are the rise of new culture and the Mobile Library considered as the most successful program. However, some programs were considered weak because of the hindraces from the students and teachers, the lack of socialization, and incondusive implementation. These implementations are expected to keep evaluated and developed to aims the goals to develops student’s reading interest.]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini membahas mengenai Kontribusi Kampung Baca Asuransi Jasindo dalam Memenuhi Kebutuhan Literasi Informasi Masyarakat Di Taman Sandik, Desa Sandik, Kecamatan Gunungsari, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Bagaimana Kontribusi Kampung Baca Asuransi Jasindo dalam Memenuhi Kebutuhan Literasi Informasi Masyarakat Di Taman Sandik dan untuk mengetahui Bagaimana kendala-kendala dalam Memenuhi Kebutuhan Literasi Informasi Masyarakat Di Taman Sandik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan teknik analisys flow model (model alur). Untuk menunjang penelitian ini ada tujuh langkah penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti yaitu (1) menyusun rancangan penelitian (2) Memilih lapangan penelitian (3) Mengurus perizinan (4) Menjajak dan menilai lapangan (5) Memilih dan memanfaatkan informan (6) Menyiapkan perlengkapan penelitian (7) Persoalan etika penelitian. Kontribusi Kampung Baca Asuransi Jasindo sebagai sumber belajar di Desa Sandik adalah menjadi wadah belajar yang berusaha menyediakan berbagai sumber belajar dan informasi, baik berupa bahan pustaka, novel, buku cerita rakyat dan bahan multimedia lainnya kepada masyarakat luas tanpa memandang status, usia, dan profesi. Adapun bentuk-bentuk dari kontribusi Kampung Baca Asuransi Jasindo sebagai sumber belajar di Desa Sandik antara lain adalah membuat program “Literasi Informasi”, dimana kegiatan tersebut berisi tentang kegiatan yang bersifat memperkenalkan masyarakat dalam menggunakan bahan bacaan yang ada di Kampung Baca Asuransi Jasindo.]]>

<![CDATA[This research contains about the utilization of social media Instagram in an effort to promote the library at the West Java Regional Library and Archives Service. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the use of social media Instagram as a media promotion for libraries in the Regional Library and Archives Office of West Java Province. The method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach, in which the problems to be studied are not yet clear, holistic, complex and meaningful. The results of this study indicate that the social media account Instagram @dispusipdajabar has utilized Instagram social media in an effort to promote the library at the West Java Regional Library and Archives Service by involving three dimensions of informing, persuading, and influencing. In utilizing Instagram social media in an effort to promote libraries at the West Java Regional Library and Archives Service, it is hoped that DISPUSIPDA JABAR needs to create more innovative content in order to increase publications in library promotion so that more people visit.]]>

<![CDATA[Novel with the tittle Beta Testing is a novel written by an authorl with a pen name Mooseboo and published in 2019. The aim of this research is to look how a novel represented a Libarian as Profession and the function of library. This research using the representation theory as a main theory and used to find and see how a librarian and function of library portrayed. And then the semiotics theory was used as analysis to find a symbols, the meaning and the messages that representing a profession of librarian and the function of library inside this novel. The method used in this research is collecting words or dialogs and then dissected using Roland Barthess semiotics theory. Conclusion that was find from this research is that profession of librarian was represented as, 1) Librarian as helper, 2)Librarian as a educator, 3) Libaraian as a discussion partner, 4) Librarian as a consultant, 5) Librarian as information fasilitator. While the representation of function of library was found ou as, 1) Libarary as a storage collection and 2) Library as education facilities.]]>

<![CDATA[The covid-19 pandemic has succeeded in changing the order of life, one of which is in the field of libraries. This also changes the services carried out in the BINUS University library. The BINUS University Library has made several adjustments to some of its services. Services that are usually done in person and face-to-face are now done online. This online service is also an example of using computers as a medium for communication. This computer-mediated communication is reflected in several services and innovations carried out by the BINUS University library. This article aims to describe the services and innovations carried out by the BINUS University library. The method used is direct interview and literature study. The services provided by the BINUS University library are asynchronous, that is, they are carried out in a different time and space, and synchronous, that is, they are carried out in the same time and space. The results of the study show that several services and innovations have been carried out, such as reference clinics, cross-service services, document provision, and plagiarism checking, which are now also carried out online. Circulation services in the form of a book delivery system have also been improved during the pandemic. The BINUS University library has also made several innovations in its services in the pandemic era. These innovations include the payment of fines through Go-Pay and QRIS BCA, a virtual tour library service, and libtalks.]]>
