Abstract

This research discusses the implementation of Reading Culture in Developing Student’s Reading Interest in SDIT X di Depok. The goal of this research is to identify the implementation of Reading Culture in developing student’s reading interest with reading habituation. This research uses qualitative approach with case study method, and held from January 4th to June 14th 2020. The informants of this study were 7 (seven) students of sixth grade, the head of library, and the initiator of Reading Culture. The research of this study aims to show the implementation of Reading Culture in developing student’s reading interest. The findings in the implementation of Reading Culture are the rise of new culture and the Mobile Library considered as the most successful program. However, some programs were considered weak because of the hindraces from the students and teachers, the lack of socialization, and incondusive implementation. These implementations are expected to keep evaluated and developed to aims the goals to develops student’s reading interest.

Abstract

Pustakawan referensi merupakan seseorang yang berperan dalam memberikan petunjuk atau arahan kepada setiap pemustaka yang membutuhkan bantuan dalam mendapat informasi yang dibutuhkan. Dalam memberikan bimbingan kepada pemustaka untuk mendapatkan informasi yang dibutuhkan, maka pustakawan referensi sudah seharusnya memanfaatkan internet sebagai alat referensi dalam mendapatkan informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh pemustaka. Dalam artikel ini akan dibahas mengenai teknik pustakawan referensi dalam memanfaatkan internet sebagai alat referensi yaitu kapan dan bagaimana pustakawan referensi dalam memanfaatkan internet sebagai alat referensi.

Abstract

AbstrakArtikel ini berisi mengenai proses kontrol yang diterapkan oleh Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi X di Jakarta. Adapun proses kontrol terdapat dua jenis yakni kontrol formal dan informal. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mewawancarai para pustakawan serta pemimpin perpustakaan, observasi langsung terkait perilaku individu, dan melakukan analisis dokumen yang mendukung kegiatan pengendalian di Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi X tersebut. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa peranan kontrol yang diterapkan di Perpustakaan X lebih berperan besar melalui kontrol sosial dibandingkan kontrol formal.

Abstract

This study discusses the interpersonal communication between librarians in the circulation service unit of Depok Public Library. The purpose of this research is to identify the quality of interpersonal communication between librarians in the circulation services unit. This research used qualitative approach with case study method. The results of this study indicate that the interpersonal communication between librarians in Depok Public Library when serving the library users was done properly and in a good manner, in general. However, research findings also indicate that the librarians tended to show a rather superior attitude toward the users. Such attitude made the librarians look less proactive and sympathetic when serving the users.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis kemampuan literasi informasi masyarakat bantaran Sungai Ciliwung di kelurahan Cawang, Jakarta Timur, khususnya pada RT.02 dan RT.15/RW.03. Tujuannya untuk mengetahui tingkat literasi informasi terkait banjir dan media yang digunakan. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dan kuesioner berdasarkan model UNESCO dan IFLA. Hasil menunjukkan masyarakat memiliki literasi tinggi, dengan perbedaan signifikan antara RT.02 dan RT.15 dalam evaluasi dan akses informasi. Google dan WhatsApp menjadi aplikasi utama untuk mencari informasi banjir. This study analyzes the information literacy skills of the community along the Ciliwung River in Cawang Village, East Jakarta, especially in RT.02 and RT.15 / RW.03. The aim is to determine the level of information literacy related to flooding and the media used. The method used was a survey and questionnaire based on the UNESCO and IFLA models. The results show that the community has high literacy, with significant differences between RT.02 and RT.15 in information evaluation and access. Google and WhatsApp are the main applications for finding flood information.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi strategi yang digunakan Taman Bacaan Masyarakat Masjid Fatahillah dalam pemenuhan fungsi rekreasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui penelitian kualitatif dan metode studi kasus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dengan informan dan observasi secara langsung di Taman Bacaan Masyarakat Masjid Fatahillah selama 3 bulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Taman Bacaan Masyarakat Masjid Fatahillah menerapkan strategi dalam pemenuhan fungsi rekreasi TBM melalui 3 metode, yakni: membuat lingkungan yang edukatif, membuat layanan yang inovatif, dan meningkatkan partisipasi pengunjung. Ketiga metode tersebut hadir dengan didukung oleh banyaknya program yang diselenggarakan oleh TBM Masjid Fatahillah. Metode tersebut dapat memberikan hiburan sekaligus pengetahuan tambahan bagi pengunjung terutama anak-anak. Anak-anak dapat beradaptasi serta bersosialisasi dengan orang lain, juga memiliki pengalaman baru yang mengasyikkan dan mengesankan. Semua strategi yang dimiliki TBM Masjid Fatahillah perlu ditingkatkan dalam rangka membuat TBM Masjid Fatahillah sebagai TBM yang lebih aktif dan bermanfaat bagi masyarakat sekitar.

Abstract

Social inclusion for people with disabilities is a fundamental value that must be integrated into library services. This study aims to identify the efforts of the Bogor City Library in supporting social inclusion, focusing on six main elements of the inclusive library model: collections, physical barriers, partnerships, programs, training, and marketing. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method conducted from March to May 2024 through interviews with three informants who are librarians involved in disability services, field observations, and document analysis. The results of the study show the availability of various facilities to support accessibility for people with disabilities at the Bogor City Library. The library also has disability services, regular activities for people with disabilities, and a special collection of braille books. Additionally, the library collaborates with various organizations related to people with disabilities. The challenges faced include a lack of understanding among library staff in serving patrons with disabilities and the low visitation rate of people with disabilities. The conclusion of this research is that the Bogor City Library has demonstrated its commitment to providing inclusive services for people with disabilities through the provision of disability-friendly physical facilities, inclusive regular programs, and partnerships with disability communities. However, the library needs to enhance the skills of library staff, promote its services, and improve facilities to optimize social inclusion for people with disabilities.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategy for optimizing e-Resources services for the National Library of Indonesia (Perpusnas) during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Perpusnas stated that all online library services had increased three times. Perpusnas provides free open access services to local and international publications through the e-Resources portal. However, during 2020, statistical data shows a decrease in visitors to the e-Resources portal. The decrease in visitors to the National Library of Indonesia's e-Resources services is not proportional to the increase in all online services from the National Library of Indonesia. Therefore, the research problem is how the National Library of Indonesia's strategy in optimizing e-Resources services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this research is to find an effective strategy for optimizing e-Resources services during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data collection was carried out by online interviews with the National Library librarians and online observations of e-Resources digital collection services. The results show that the National Library of Indonesia's strategies in optimizing the use of e-Resources includes online user guidance, collaboration with universities, promotion on social media, and the Ask a Librarian service.

Abstract

This paper discusses the process of transferring knowledge blind educators in Yayasan Mitra Netra. The aim of this research is to explain the process of transferring knowledge blind educators and also to find out the obstacle in process of transferring knowledge blind educators in Yayasan Mitra Netra. This paper used a qualitative approach with study case method. Data collection techniques in this research used interview, observation, and document analysis. This research found that transferring knowledge blind educators in Yayasan Mitra Netra is to develop student’s knowledge and skills. Yayasan Mitra Netra is informal education institution with the majority of student in Yayasan Mitra Netra are adult students who will go on to college and work. Collaboration between teachers and students who feel that they have something in common makes the knowledge transfer process effective. The seci process in socialization phase is most prominent compared to the other phase, because teachers and students are blind who have lack in seeing and making them only rely on the other senses such as hearing, touch, taste, and etc. in receiving knowledge. So, tacit knowledge can be created and transferred well, although that there are many obstacles in process of transferring knowledge blind educators are laziness, mood, teach too fast, and blind with other needs.

Abstract

This article analyzes the impacts of the policy implementation on e-resources access at Jakarta Delima Academic Library. The aim of the research is to analyze the impacts regarding the new policy of e-recources access at Jakarta Delima Academic Library to its users. This research was used qualitative approach with case studies. Data collection for this research was conducted through interview, observation and literary study. The result shows that the impacts caused by the new policy are it does not meet the user needs of information, the ineffectiveness of the e-resources use, and the loss of the essence of e-resources in the library.
