<![CDATA[In this journal, the author describes the idea of E-KOMPEN (Short Electronics-Comics) as a smart solution in increasing reading interest in Indonesian society in the digital era. With this solution, it is hoped that it can help the community to increase their reading interest in books, journals, and other sources. Comics are illustrated stories. This idea was motivated by the problem of reading interest in Indonesia. The reading culture in Indonesia is ranked the lowest with a value of 0.001. That is, from around one thousand Indonesian residents, only one has a high reading culture. This condition is much different when compared to America which has an index reading of 0.45 and Singapore 0.55. This solution is expected to be able to answer the challenges of increasing the reading interest of the Indonesian people to improve the quality of Indonesia's human resources. With the increasing quality of Indonesia's human resources, Indonesia's natural resources will be managed well by the Indonesian people themselves without having to make massive imports. Also, Indonesia will be able to use the demographic bonus as well as possible so that the demographic bonus can be a big advantage for Indonesia. Keywords: Comic, reading, library.]]>

<![CDATA[Maintenance of library materials is not new to the library. This is the task of the library manager, the establishment of a library means that library materials need to be maintained and preserved for the next generation. However, the task of preservation is not easy, because library managers will be faced with 'book enemies', namely: nerds, termites, cockroaches, mice, fungi and also by humans themselves such as tearing pages, folding paper, crossing pages, etc. other. This study aims to determine how to maintain library collections so that they are durable and what factors can damage library materials, as well as the obstacles faced by librarians in the process of maintaining library collections. From the results of the study the authors found that the library collection in the library of Palembang 57 Public High School was still not maximally processed due to lack of human resources and funds in the maintenance and repair of library materials in this library. For more details the author will explain the clarity in this paper. This research was conducted by means of collecting data quantitatively, then presented descriptively in analysis. <![CDATA[This paper describes the development of RFID-based Medan North Sumatra State University (UINSU) library. The development of RFID in the UINSU library is part of an effort in making efforts to increase libraries to become effective and efficient libraries in the education process. RFID is a technology that is very useful and has strengths and strengths or also called "powerful emerging technology" because an institution or college can achieve the totality of a service and management. The development of RFID-based UINSU library automation is currently very much needed by the library and UINSU Medan users. The development of RFID-based automation makes it easy for library staff to improve librarian performance in the use of information technology. <![CDATA[Series publications are sources available in the library. These information sources have up-to-date and updated information on various topics of discussion that are used as sources of reference science for research of students and lecturers. Serial issue is one of the library collections which are mostly unprocessed and utilized. In this paper, we discuss about serial publications in the Bala Putradewa Museum library, including journals, newspapers or newspapers, bulletins, magazines and others. In the library of Bala Putradewa Museum, most public collections are not collections related to history. This confession is still very minimal for updated information to be consumed by visitors, the visitors are almost non-existent every day. Preservation of publications in the library Museum Balaputra still uses manual methods because of the absence of a special budget. Development of collections was not carried out due to the absence of a budget. On average, collections in the old Putadewa Bala Museum and many collections have been lost and damaged. So in the library of the Museum of Bala Putradewa all still use the manual system because of the lack of attention from the leadership and the staff themselves. <![CDATA[This journal discusses how be-on services (online libraries) initiated by researchers can influence distance learning which was developed as a form of adaptation to the age of globalization. This distance education requires an interactive telecommunication system to connect the two and various resources needed in it. The learning done in this distance education program is through online which specifically combines electronic technology and internet-based technology. Through this library service, students can obtain information easily and practically and can conduct meetings virtually by utilizing information technology. besides being able to meet lecture meetings with no face-to-face meetings, students can also obtain information on assignments given and can obtain books, journals or other media that can be accessed through online library services using the internet.]]>

<![CDATA[The "Seneng Maca" library, Melung village was established in 2015 with the intention that the reading interest of Melung villagers increased. This study was conducted with a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection through observation, and interviews. As a result, with a collection of around 540 copies, the "Seneng Maca" library was visited by mothers while waiting for their children in PAUD and TK schools, school children after they returned (late in the afternoon), and PKK mothers when they were active in the village office near the library. It is recommended to be able to recruit workers or volunteers who have a background in library science, so that the "Seneng Maca" library can be better managed. <![CDATA[The writing of this scientific work aims to describe how the development of literacy in Muslim countries and how Islam develops with science and literacy. This paper is motivated by a sense of appreciation for Muslim scientists in the era of the glory of the Islamic dynasty and the desire to recall the advances in Islamic civilization in science, especially literacy as learning for the present generation. In addition, this article discusses how libraries and literacy play a major role and is the key to the development of ancient Islamic glory. This paper also tells how the Islamic library in its history also experienced a dark period. When Muslims were conquered by other nations such as Europeans, Tartars, and Indians many libraries were destroyed and their collections destroyed. The destruction of the library which later became the background of the breakup of the scientific chain, between the golden age of Islam and the era afterwards. It also makes the present reality, which makes Muslims become people who are left behind from other nations, for example, Europe, which is a symbol of intellectual progress in modern times.Keyword: Library, Literacy, Civilization of Islam.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to find out the management of dynamic records and archival retrieval systems at the Archives Office of South Sumatra Province. This study uses the observation method with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, namely Mr. H. Ir. Muhammad Sidik Faisol, M.Sc as a guest speaker. The results obtained from this study are known that the management of dynamic records in the Office of Archives of South Sumatra Province uses a classification system as a means of structuring the archives so that in the archive storage will be arranged based on classification numbers. The archive destruction method used was enumeration, this method was chosen because it was considered more environmentally friendly than the combustion method. And for the file retrieval system, still by manual or by using a computer system.]]>

<![CDATA[This paper discusses how the library is transformed and develops along with the development of the times in order to compete with things that rival the library, such as ebooks and books by utilizing other technologies. In educating the life of the nation, especially students as academic people as well as iron stock for the civilization of the nation and state, the existence of a library is a basic thing that must be considered, and of course must be integrated with technological developments to provide ease of service to users and can maximize library services and of course will increase the attractiveness of the library itself. The evolution of library services today has evolved digitally, but with increasingly rapid and instant technological developments so that digitalized library services are still considered to be less effective and less efficient in time and costs. Therefore, the author offers an idea namely Smart library, which is a mobile application-based library information system with the integration of IoT concepts in libraries that can be used by users using their respective smartphones. This paper also contains a system of smart library usage, its ease, obstacles that have been found by the community with the use of manual systems and how to progress when using systems that have been transformed with technology.]]>

<![CDATA[Archive management is an important aspect in an organization, both business and government organizations. Increasing the volume of work of an organization, causes an increase in the number of records produced. The increasing number of archives over time, requires good handling so that the information contained in the archive can be found quickly and precisely. Archiving is a very important part of office work. Archiving is needed in the implementation of office activities because the archive is the memory center for every activity in the office. However, in handling the archives at the Palembang City Government Office, Ilir Timur Tiga District is still inefficient because it still implements conventional information systems and takes a lot of time for information retrieval. This study aims to determine the management of existing records in the office of Ilir Timur sub-district. Data collection uses observation and interview techniques. The results of this study are that management of records management has not been completely transferred to media into electronic archives. It is hoped that in the future it can be completely transferred from the manual archive to an electronic archive. It is expected that staff in the special archives section at the office of Ilir Timur Subdistrict in Palembang to be able to manage records effectively and efficiently by using electronic media in archiving management will obtain the benefits of speed, convenience and accuracy of invoices]]>
