Abstract

As this far Indonesia which well-known as agrarian country is still undertaking massive import of rice considering the undeniable disaster; therefore, the farmer exchanging value in Indonesia is experiencing a sharp decrease where many farmers gain financial loss. The aim to optimize is to determine the grained-rice price (win-win solution) in which it is the fair solution for both sides by eliminating the price difference that occurs form not linier programme optimizing method by Fibonacci technique. The agreement of grained-rice price on December 2001 (s=1%) is Rp 1540,00/kg ; (s=5%) is Rp 1490,00/kg and on (s=10%) is Rp 1420,00/kg. on January 2002 (s=1%) is Rp 1610,00/kg ; (s=5%) is Rp 1550,00/kg and on (s=10%) is Rp 1480,00/kg; on March 2002 (s=1%) is Rp 1900,00/kg; (s=5%) is Rp 1850,00/kg and on (s=10%) is Rp 1770,00/kg.

Abstract

A series of field experiments have been conducted to estimate values of thermal parameters of a heat exchanger, such as overall heat transfer coefficient (U), number of transfer units (NTU), and effectiveness (?), in a nocturnal cooling system. Accumulated experimental data showed that these parameters are proportional to the logarithmic relation to mass flow rate of water flowing into the heat exchanger. Empirical correlation developed for this purpose indicated that correlation coefficient of U was 0.76. the correlation function developed for cross-flow is applicable to predict outlet air temperature with an average error of 0.10C.

Abstract

Agriculture and tourism sector have been a priority in the policy of economy development of Bali. This policy is expected to bring a balance growth to the various economy sectors in Bali. However, tourism development in some agricultural areas leads to a decreasing of agriculture sector in these areas. It is caused by some reasonsm namely: the changed of land use from agriculture land to tourism facilities, the use of irrigation water for tourist facilities, and the lack of employees in agriculture sector. Theoretically, a growth in one economy sector will pull another economy sector because they are closely linked through supply-demand mechanism. Linkages between agriculture and tourism sector could be achieved through several activities, such as: (i) agricultural landscaoe as a tourist attraction (sight seeing); (ii) agricultural activities, including agroindustry as tourist attractions (agrotourism); (iii) agricultural products supplied for hotel and restaurants (agrobussiness). A successful effort in facilitating linkages between agriculture and tourism sectors could be able to empower agriculture sector in Bali, and could minimize land use changes from agriculture land to other land uses in Bali. Thereforem agriculture practices in Bali will be still exist, and available as tourist attractions.

Abstract

The research was conducted to produce salam leaf extract flavor, and to determine the composition of its flavor compounds, and to know the preference. The experiment was undertaken by using a randomized block design. Three methods of the separation process were undertaken, namely steam distillation, water distillation and simultaneous distillation-extraction. Fresh salam leaf were cutted and extracted by three methods and the flavor extract was drying by MgSO4 anhydrate. The flavor extract were determined its yield and characteristic of sensory and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The research result showed that the most preferred was the salam leaf flavor extracted by the simultaneous distillation-extraction method. Its flavor extract was contained the main compound of ?-ocimene (9.04%), octanal (11.31%), cis-4-decenal (28.43%), ?-humulene (9.20%) and decanal (6.49%).

Abstract

This research was conducted to determination the optimum activity of endogenous PG enzyme in cocoa pulp using response surface methodology. The results of this research had benn used as reference to develop the condition of fermentation mechanism in cocoa processing. This research was carried out by assaying the enzyme activity for 60 minutes on varying of temperature and pH. The treatment of temperature were 30, 40, 50 and 600C and pH were 3,5; 4,0; 4,5; 5,0; 5,5 respectively. Determination the optimum activity of endogenous PG enzyme in cocoa pulp using response surface methodology. The result showed that optimum condition of activity of endogenous PG enzyme was the combination of temperature 42,50C and pH 4,6 with regression model of response surface curve: Y= 750+2.27 X1 – 0,0434 X12 + 0,000260 X13 – 721 X2 + 245 X22 – 36,5 X23 + 2,01 X24, with R2= 0,929.
