Abstract

Learning that leads to the achievement of cognitive aspects and science process skills needs to be improved. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of practice-based Biology learning on cognitive learning outcomes, science process skills, and student responses to respiratory system material. The research was conducted at one of the high schools in Demak Regency. The approach used in this research is a quantitative approach using experimental methods. The research design used was a non-equivalent control group. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling. The sample in this research was all 58 class XI Science students. Data was collected by providing test questions and observation sheets and distributing questionnaires. The research results show that applying simple respiratory system training aids greatly improves cognitive learning outcomes. Students construct knowledge through experience. Applying simple, practical teaching aids for the respiratory system effectively develops students' science process skills. Students care about carrying out the science process by referring to worksheets adapted to the syntax of learning practices. Students' responses to applying practical teaching aids to the simple respiratory system were very good. Using simple props in demonstrations can help students understand difficult and abstract material.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) determine the validity of the e-module based on the Cucurbitaceae family in the Spermatophyta Class X IPA sub-material. 2) Knowing students' responses as a result of the practicality test on the Cucurbitaceae Family-Based e-module on the Spermatophyta Class X IPA sub-material. This research and development uses a model adopted from the Branch, namely ADDIE, which consists of the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. This research was conducted at MA NU Raudlatus Shibyan Peganjaran Bae Kudus. This study used three material expert validators, three media expert validators, and one Biology educator. A limited-scale trial was carried out on all members of class X, totaling 28 people. The results showed that for the validation test by material experts, a score percentage of 91.85% was included in the very valid category, media experts 94.42% were in the very valid category, and Biology educators 78.7% were included in the valid category. The results of the e-module trial for students obtained a score with an average percentage of 78.5%, which was in the feasible category. The local potential-based e-module can be used in the learning process.

Abstract

The Indonesian education system requires developing 21st-century skills, including creative thinking skills (CTS). Students' CTS is still low. The study aims to describe student learning activities, analyze students' creative thinking skills, and describe student responses by applying a the problem-based learning (PBL) model that integrates Islamic values with mind-mapping assessments. The research method uses a true-experimental design with a posttest-only control design. The research location is at SMAN 1 Dukupuntang, and the respondents are 30 students. The sampling technique was random sampling, the population of all IPA students in class X. The selected classes were class X IPA 1 as the experimental class and  X IPA 2 as the control class. Data collection research includes observation sheets, mind mapping, and questionnaires. Data processing techniques are in the form of normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. The results showed that the average value of student learning activities is 88, classified as very good. Applying the PBL model that integrates Islamic values with mind mapping assessments can significantly improve students' CTS with scores of Asymp Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000. Student responses are positive with a response scale interest category (67,8). The findings in this study are that students need more stimulation to integrate Islamic values with science during online learning. It can be concluded that the PBL model, integrated with Islamic values and mind mapping assessment, can improve students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the difference in improving critical thinking skills between students who applied with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by E-Booklet and those who did not applied with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by E-Booklet. This research was conducted in an Islamic School in Cirebon City with a Quasi-Experimental design in the form of a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sampling using the Positive Random Sampling technique with a sample size of 64 students. Data collection techniques in the form of essay instrument tests, as many as six questions, with Bloom's taxonomy levels C4-C6 declared valid and reliable. The data analysis technique consists of the N-Gain Test and Statistical Test in the form of a normality test, a homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing with the Mann-Whitney U test. The results showed that the average N-Gain in the experimental class and control class fell into the moderate category, with the acquisition of an average index of 0.61 and 0.47. In the hypothesis test, the experimental and control classes were stated with a significance value of 0.001 ≤ 0.05, meaning Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by an E-Booklet in learning biology on environmental change material can improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The development of internet-integrated teaching materials is important in meeting the demands of education in the era of globalization, which allows students to access information quickly and keep it up-to-date. In addition, integrating various branches of science in teaching materials can enrich students' knowledge, improve critical thinking skills, and prepare them to face global challenges. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of STEM-based electronic modules on environmental conservation materials, the practicality of STEM-R-based electronic modules on environmental conservation materials, and the effectiveness of STEM-R-based electronic modules in improving mastery of environmental conservation materials. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study involved media experts, material experts, biology teachers, and students, while the object of the study was the STEM-R-based electronic module. Data collection techniques used include Validation sheets to assess the feasibility of the module, practicality questionnaires to evaluate the practicality of the module, and test instruments to measure the module's effectiveness in improving mastery of environmental conservation material concepts. The study results showed that the developed electronic module was declared feasible with an overall Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Coefficient Validity Index (CVI) value of 1, the developed electronic module was declared very practical with a practicality percentage of 96.17%, and the developed electronic module obtained an N-Gain value of 0.64. The STEM-R-based electronic module is categorized as moderately effective in improving students' mastery of environmental conservation material.
