Abstract

The disruption of the electric power system due to overcurrent causes a trip to the 3rd generator of pesanggaran power plant . This causes a decrease in frequency due to the system losing its supply. Frequency interference can be detected automatically with UFR (Under Frequency Relay). The working principle of UFR is to compare the value of the system frequency and the value of the frequency setting. The comparison will determine how much load is released to balance the generator supply. This study analyzes UFR performance at Pesanggaran Substation by simulating a case of the generator being released so as to produce a decreased system frequency state. The method used is by comparing the ETAP simulation results and calculation results. The results of the comparison obtained the system recovery time when the conditions (gen1 tripped), (gen1 and gen2 tripped), and (gen1, gen2, and gen3 tripped), each is 1.171s; 4,531s; and 4,514s.

Abstract

Automatic control technology for energy savings is no stranger to social life. Negligence in turning off lights and air conditioners in class is one example of the waste of electricity that occurs in school and campus institutions. By using the PIR (Passive Infra Red) sensor and LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) on the automatic control system of lights and air conditioners, it is expected to reduce excess electricity consumption. All uses of sensors are connected directly to Arduino Nano as the center of automatic system controllers. Software design uses the basic programming language C Arduino and utilizes the timer library function which functions as a room timer. From the results of the research, this tool can already be used as an automation while saving electricity consumption in the use of electronic devices such as lights and air conditioners.

Abstract

Increased load current on the Pesanggaran – Sanur transmission line by 333,536 Ampere or 83,384 % of the current carrying capacity caused the uprating conductor from ACSR Partridge 135 ????????2 into ACCC Lisbon 310 ????????2. Upratingj cause changes in impendance value. This change affects the zone reach protection of GIS Pesanggaran – GI Sanur distance relay which overlaps with Zone protection of GI Sanur – GI Gianyar distance relay. Resetting is done by recalculation according the distance relay rules and the result are tested with short circuit at 86 % Pesangaran – Sanur transmission line. Resetting result shows the distance relay operate appropriately according with the IEEE Standard C37.113-2015.

Abstract

At present the power plant has a high dependence on energy sources such as diesel, natural gas and coal, while its energy source in nature is increasingly scarce, this situation encourages the development of renewable energy, one of which is in micro hydro power plants. This study aims to determine the effect of the width of the work triangle on the highest rpm produced. the fall of water on the pinwheel is set from the position angle of the nozzle 00, 150, 300, 450, 600, 750 and from the angle of the nozzle 00, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350 and 400 on the semicircular blade turbine, triangle blade turbine , and fin blade turbines. Semicircular turbine blade, working triangle area produces greater rpm at position of angle nozzle 00 and angle of nozzle 250 with area of work triangle 360,36 cm2, where the position produces 216 rpm at windmill rotation and 1626 rpm at generator rotation. When the nozzle position angle 150 and the nozzle angle 200 with the working triangle area 264.27 cm2, produce 221 rpm at the pinwheel rotation and 1711 rpm at the generator rotation. while at the nozzle position angle of 300 and the angle of the nozzle 100 the area of the triangle works 134.37 cm2 and produces 173 rpm at the spinning wheel and 1307 rpm at the generator rotation. on the triangle blade turbine and fin blade, the working triangle area does not affect the rpm produced.

Abstract

Kerobokan feeder supply electrical energy in the area of Kerobokan. This feeder supplies 67 distribution transformers that serve a variety of customers with nonlinier electrical loads. Nonlinier electrical loads cause harmonics which adversely affect customers and power system equipment, especially distribution transformers. In Kerobokan feeder, only 3 (4.5%) of the 67 transformers has THDi content that according with the IEEE 519-2014 standard and 64 (95.5%) of the 67 transformers has a high THDi content and exceed the IEEE 519-2014 standard. For this reason, the power losses, efficiency, and work capacity of the transformer are analyzed due to the effect of THDi. This study uses a direct measurement method in all transformers in the Kerobokan feeder and simulation on the ETAP Powerstation program. The results of the analysis showed that total power losses without being affected by THDi for all transformers were 49.4 kW and after being affected by THDi were 591.71 kW. The highest THDi content is in the KA 0992 transformer is 24.8% which results in an increased in power losses is 12.02 kW or 12.02% of its capacity and a decreased in efficiency is 12.66% and has a decreased in work capacity is 19.9%. While the smallest THDi content is found in the DB 449 transformer is 6.8% which results in an increased in power losses is 2.2 kW or 0.88% of its capacity and a decreased efficiency is 1.01% and has a decreased in work capacity is 2.7%.

Abstract

The negligence of residents and the lack of a house security system are the causes of the rampant cases of theft. Technological developments are increasingly rapid, making technology can be applied as a security system at home. This can be a solution to these problems. In this study a home security system was developed in the form of a prototype. This study uses a microcontroller that can be controlled using mobile devices via bluetooth communication. The prototype consists of a keypad to enter a password as a substitute for a home key, a PIR sensor as a detection of human body heat movements, and a buzzer as an alarm. The results of this study are that the prototype has been realized where the servo motor has been able to open and lock by entering the correct password. Setting ON / OFF lighting, display information on the LCD, and ON / OFF PIR sensor from an Android mobile phone via Bluetooth communication are in accordance with the plan.

Abstract

MANET or Mobile Ad Hoc Network is a technology in Ad Hoc network that is mobile and its own use is very wide because, nodes-nodes in this network is moving randomly so that the network topology is also always changing. Setting Buffer size with Scheduling method using FIFO can improve the quality of this network. This simulation uses OPNET Modeler 14.5 by comparing the effect of the Buffer Size value change. Buffer Size parameter values will be changed to 20000 bits, 30000 bits, and 40000 bits using 20 nodes. QoS of MANET performance is a method of measuring how good a network is and an attempt to define the characteristics and properties of a service. The results of this study can be seen the value of delay, packet loss and throughput have obtained the appropriate results and already meet ITU standards with the lowest delay value of 1.30 millisecond and the value of throughput with 258,096 bps.

Abstract

One of the technologies that continues to be developed today is automated system technology. An automatic system that has the potential to continue to develop in this modern era is the vending machine. Along with the development of technology, vending machines have begun to be developed using tags / RFID cards (Radio Frequency Identification) in lieu of paper money. The disadvantage of this system is the dependence of machine activation on an RFID tag / card that still has security risks. Therefore, a vending machine will be developed using QR (Quick Response) Code and integrated with an Android-based smartphone instead of RFID. The microcontroller based vending machine system uses a QR Code to work to serve drinks automatically after processing serial data sent by a smartphone through an application that has been designed with Bluetooth communication. Users can register an account on the application and fill in the balance to buy canned drinks at the vending machine.

Abstract

Saba feeder is a feeder who supplies 78 distribution transformers with feeder length 38,959 kms, through this Saba feeder electrical energy is channeled radially to each distribution substation. In 2017 the voltage shrinkage at Saba feeder was 9.88% (18,024 kV) while the total power loss was 445.5 kW. In this study an attempt was made to overcome the voltage losses and power losses using the method of optimizing bank capacitors with genetic algorithms and network reconfiguration. The best solution obtained from this study will be selected for repair of voltage losses and power losses in Saba feeders. The results showed that by optimizing bank capacitors using genetic algorithms, the placement of capacitor banks was placed on bus 23 (the channel leading to the BB0024 transformer) and successfully reduced the power loss to 331.7 kW. The network reconfiguration succeeded in fixing the voltage on the Saba feeder with a voltage drop of 4.75% and a total power loss of 182.7 kW. With the combined method, reconfiguration and optimization of bank capacitors with genetic algorithms were obtained on bus 27 (channel to transformer BB0047) and managed to reduce power losses to 143 kW.

Abstract

Technological developments have encouraged many human lives in automatic matters. One of the uses of the rapidly developing electronics field is the application of household appliances. This study will be made a prototype of fish feed and water replacement in the aquarium of ATmega328P microcontroller based. This prototype aims to facilitate feeding of fish and replacing water in the aquarium. The sensor reading is using an ultrasonic sensor to control the amount of fish feed which when the feed runs out will be marked with a buzzer that lights up. The system for regulating fish feeding and replacement of water is regulated by the DS1307 Real Time Clock IC with a display in a 20x4 cm LCD. A valve opening for fish feed containers uses a servo motor. The program used in designing this prototype is to use the C Programming Language. The results achieved in this study are fish feed schedules and water changes can be arranged with a switch button with a twice daily feeding schedule and water replacement every three days. Another condition that is achieved is the servo motor and the water drain pump can work according to the schedule of the time that has been arranged. The conclusion of this research is that the prototype of fish feed and water replacement can already be implemented using the ATmega328P microcontroller. The fish feeder prototype can realize wave reflections from the ultrasonic sensor when the feed has run out, and it will automatically move the servo motor to open the valve, and the buzzer will sound if the fish feed is below 20%.
