Abstract

This research aimed to understand the effectiveness of PAIKEM (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Enjoyable Learning) strategy in the KTSP (School Based Curriculum) in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Ma’arif Gedangan and in the Curriculum of 2013 in MI Ma’arif Mangunsari applied in the 4th Grade students in the academic year of 2016/2017.  The curriculum changing gave an impact in education especially on the use of learning strategy for teachers to reach the education goal.  This research was descriptive qualitative research which used observation, interview, and documentation as the method to collect the data. It used field research as the research method which was conducted by researcher collaborated with teachers. The research result showed that the use of PAIKEM strategy is more effective when it was used in the curriculum of 2013 than applied in KTSP curriculum. The implementation of PAIKEM strategy in the KTSP curriculum is less effective applied in the classroom. It was proven with the students’ interaction in the class. Many students were less active during the learning activities. However, teacher and students as the object of the research could follow the activities which applied PAIKEM strategy in the classroom. From the research result, it can be concluded that PAIKEM strategy can be implemented in KTSP and the curriculum of 2013. The implementation of PAIKEM strategy in the curriculum of 2013 is more effective than in the KTSP curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims at producing a literature module of children based on nationalism character to improve the critical thinking ability of fourth grade students MIN Boyolali, and measuring the effectiveness of the module use in classroom toward critical thinking ability of fourth grade students MIN Boyolali. Set within the research and development type, this study adapts 10 (ten) stages of development procedure as formulated by Borg and Gall (1983). The subjects of the research were students and teachers of grade IV MIN Boyolali. Data collection was conducted through interview and observation, product validation, teacher and student response questionnaire, and performance of pre-test and post-test—which was analyzed using independent sample t-test. Meanwhile, product effectiveness was tested through quasi experiment. The result of the research showed that the module was categorized as “fit” by material and language expert; while the media expert categorized it as "very fit". In the other hand, teacher and student responses to the use of learning module were categorized as "excellent". Further, the output of the independent sample t test showed that the p value (0.000) was less than the 0.05 significance level (p≤0.05), indicating that the module was effective to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The research aims to find out the improvement of students achievement in the subject of Mathematics on the aspect of multiplication by using the teaching aid of Napier Bones. This research is conducted on the frame of class action research upon two cycles. The context of the research is at Islamic Elementary School (MI) Ma’arif Dukuh, Salatiga.  The population covers 21 of fourth grade students. The method of data population includes documentation, observation, and test. Meanwhile, the data analysis uses percentage formula. This research find out that the teaching aid of Napier Bones improve students achievement on the subject of Mathematics upon the research subjects. The significant of the result can be overviewed from the 85.71% of students that have achieved the standard of minimum completeness. It means that the teaching aid of Napier Bones is significantly proven to improve learning achievement on the aspect of multiplication.

Abstract

The low literacy ability of the society will have an impact on the quality of human resources. Nowadays, literacy (read-write) has not yet become a necessity of life and part of nation's culture. Schools as the primary means of shaping the character of students need to plan programs that lead to literacy culture as a solution to the problem. Currently, schools are busy implementing government programs through literacy programs with the aim of the growing awareness of students in familiarizing the culture. This program provides the significant influence for students with various forms of activities undertaken by school. On this occasion, the writer tries to present some explanations related to the basic concepts, urgency, stapes of cultural development of literacy and the form of programs that can be done in supporting of literacy culture in Elementary School.

Abstract

This study aims to develop innovative, effective and practical learning media to improve learning achievement of students in memorizing and recognizing the basic instruments of gamelan. The background of this study is that there are still many elementary school (SD) and Islamic elementary school (MI) students who do not know the basic instruments of gamelan, which hinder the achievement of Javanese language competencies. This method of developing learning media uses research and development method steps. Dissemination is carried out at the Central Java Center of Education Information and Communication Technology Development (BPTIKP) for the implementation toward more targeted users. The results of the study show that they have succeeded in developing the Virtual Virtual Javanese Gamelan in which the students can use to play while learning. The learning results show a significant increase in learning achievement, in the initial conditions without using Virtual Javanese Gamelan, from 18 students, only 5 students (27.8%) have completed the learning with an average score of 66. While the learning results obtained after using the Mutimedia Virtual Javanese Gamelan, the completion reaches 18 students (100%) with an average score of 90. So it can be concluded that Virtual Javanese Gamelan multimedia can improve the learning achievement of the second graders at MI Miftahul Huda 01.

Abstract

Language is the most essential communication tool for human beings. Languages possessed by humans are so dynamic that it continues to evolve over time. The language instruction was termed Linguistic Etiquette. In Linguistic Etiquette there is a term of speech levels.  The use of language in Islamic Elementary School (Madrasa Ibtidaiyah/MI) was implemented in an integrated manner with the relationshipbetween fields of study. Javanese is the mother tongue of the Javanese. The society levels of speech in Javanese language are Ngoko, Krama Madya, and Krama Inggil. The Javanese practices Krama level language to communicate between students with teachers, among teachers and teachers with headmaster of MI at school. This research was conducted qualitatively to informants from MI Tegalwaton and MI Al Islam Bonomerto. The researcher used qualitative descriptive approach to describe the state or phenomenon status of the data obtained from the research object, which then analyzed. This study are investigating MI programs in instilling Javanese `Krama` language, the results of Javanese `Krama` language cultural cultivation in MI Tegalwaton and MI Al Islam Bonomerto as well as obstacles experienced by the students in using Javanese `Krama` language.
