Abstract

This article describe about the function of  school as a formal institution that can develops choldrens attitude and behave nasinality. In the class students are learen about nationality education. The teacher duties are to develops students attitudes to become the good generation. Especially for PKn and religiuos teacher that try to develops student’s morality and attitudes.Loyality for nation is one of the behavior should be inside of the childrens soul to be proud to their nation as a citizen. Abstract

The purpose of this theoretical study is to investigate alternative model assessment (portfolios, verbal presentations and debates, interviews and conferences, laboratory skills checklists, and evaluation of its own evaluation of paired peer evaluation) in learning in elementary school. Alternative assessment is defined as the use of non-traditional approach to assess the performance or student learning outcomes. Besides alternative assessment may also be referred to the authentic assessment or performance assessment. Alternative assessment is a new development of traditional assessment. In other words, alternative assessment does not eliminate the role of traditional assessment. Asessmen this alternative to be a solution for elementary teachers in assessing students' attitudes while in the learning environment. Kata kunci: Assesmen Alternatif, Elementary school Teacher

Abstract

The study was conducted to address the problems experienced by low-grade student in a writing activity. The research conducted a grade one and two SD Alkhairaat 04 of Ternate. The  method used  descriptive qualitative.  The  data collected questionnaire, interviews, observation  and  documentation  Data  analysis  used  qualitative  analysis.  The  results showed the difficulties experienced by the first graders among others, (a) writing letters, words and simple sentences, (b) write the letter continued, (c) write the sentence correctly, (d) to distinguish the letters b and d (often confused ), (e) hard imitating or copying written form provided by the teacher (f) it is difficult to string words into simple sentences. While the second graders have difficulty writing in terms of: (a) writing letters, words and simple sentences with a clear, (b) write a sentence correctly and appropriately in accordance with the teacher delivered, (c) write and use the letters continued, and (d) have not been able to recognize and understand the function of punctuation correctly, such as commas and periods, use of capital letters. and it is hard to maintain the neatness and the written form. Key words: writing problem, the beginer students.

Abstract

This research discussed about the role of parents in develops childrens morality in Tabam North Ternate. The background of this research explained about the moral develops of the childrens in families and their growth. Spouse are the genetics for their generation to develops their attitudes.  The environment is the key of childrens behavior while taking car of children is not a simple way, they need their parent’s guideing.This research used  naturalistic qualitative approach to  describe the  parent’s role inside childrens   natural   behavour.   Naturalistic   qualitative   approach   used   to   perceive   the information deeply about the parents participation in develop and create childs behavior, with techincs by observation, interview, and documentation. Interview used in this research to reach the information based on the questions.Summary of this research are while the education parents has influences to the childrens morality that can be aplicated by the children at the school and community. Spouse with their standard education level will influence to their childrens behavior. Key Words: parents, students, Morality,  Tabam elementary school

Abstract

The objective of the research was to describe the third grade students’ interest in reading. The  research  design  applied  collaborative  classroom  action  research.    The  subjects involved the  Third  Graders  of Maccini  Public  School  II  in  Makassar  City. The  data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The conclusion of the research showed that student’s interest in reading through teaching   reading activities tends to increase.The objective of this research is to find out if the picture demonstration tool could increasethe student’s reading interest in students of grade III of Maccini II State Elementary School Makassar City. This research was in-class action research conducted in 2 cycles. The subjects of this research were students of grade III of Maccini II State Elementary School Makassar City in the second semester of the academic year of 2007/2008. The data of this research was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed collaboratively through three interactive model activity plots, i.e. data reduction, data explanation, verification and drawing conclusion.The actions conducted in this research result in some positive changes in the activities done by the students in reading. These changes are indicated by the increase  of thepercentage of students which are conducting reading activity. Before the conduction, thestudents who were enthusiastic about reading were only 41.02%, which, after Cycle I increased to 79.49%; and in the end of Cycle II it increased to 97.43%. In terms of the students’ activity in comprehending the text and story through intensive reading, it increased from 41.15% (early condition), to 71.79 (end of Cycle I), and increased to94.87% (end  of  Cycle II). The  students’  activity in expressing their ideas  orally  and appropriately increased from 30.77% (early condition), to 69.23% (end of Cycle I), andincreased to 87.18 % (end of Cycle II). The activity of students in scrupulous readingincreased from 48.72% (early condition), to 76.92% (end of Cycle I), and to 94.87% (end of Cycle II). The activity of students in individual and group enjoyable reading increased from 33.33% (early condition), to 69.23% (end of Cycle II) and to 94.87% (end of Cycle II). The last activity, completing sentences according to the meanings given on figures, increased from 28.20% (early condition), to 76.92%) (end of Cycle II), and to 97.43% (end of Cycle II). The average percentage of the given activities (6 indicators of activities) increased from 37.20% (early condition), to 73.93% (end of Cycle I), and to 94.44% (end of Cycle II). Thus, in all the activities there was a gain percentage of 36.73% in Cycle I and 55.22% in Cycle II. Keywords: students’ reading interest, Picture Demonstration Tool
