Abstract

Some social analysts regard that religious extention as social phenomena was replaced by technology. It is a instrument to legitimate a lower class or group that no having power by way of alienation process. But religion is one aspect of culture that is infortant in social reality. It could influence social system or it could be influenced the other aspect thruought values, morals or ethics. Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) as phenomena of religious organization, that rised at national awakining period in Indonesia, do religious movement through some social roles or functions. The founding of NU could be realized as a religious movement by way oftheory‟s social movement from Sidney Tarrow and Sartono Kartodirdjo. Result of analysis indicate that the rising of Nahdlatul Ulama is a religious movement, because this oraganization is not only has colletive challenge, common purpose, social solidarity and sustained interaction, but has messinaistic, messinaistic, millenaristic, nativistic, holy war, protec to loval culture, megico-mysticism andappreciate to ancestors.

Abstract

This article discusses the relationship of God and man in view of Hinduism. The paradigm used in this reflection is the Plato's metaphysics about relatinships pattern of Idea and reality. View of Hinduism, Brahman is the highest Idea that must be addressed by all human beings. To make it easier to understand God or Brahman, in Hinduism there is the understanding that God manifests itself in various forms of gods and goddesses. Man in view of Hinduism, has same elements with the universe as the manifestation of God, then to recognize God, man can also through the understanding of human identity that is Atman. Hinduism teaches various ways or methods to serve and understand God, including of it: bhakti yoga, karma yoga, jnana yoga and raja yoga. In this life, humans are bounded by responsibility. If  it’s actions or works are good, so humans will find good result, but if the evil that is done, then humans will get karma. Karma is what prevented him to merge with Brahman / Atman, so that human life will undergo a series or sequence of rebirth, even in the form of lower called samsara. To break this samsara, people should stay away from the mirage of life, do the good, and be aware or understand of their identity that blends with nature is that while blending with the Almighty or moksha.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the issue of "how important Humanism religious life of the 21th century". Among the results was the word humanism temuanaya when seen from history before or after the time of scholastic renaissance, has a positive purpose and its impact can be felt to this day. To create a human being has dignity, the theme of humanism should be lifted, therefore the theme of humanism flourished before the 19th century as a forerunner to the renaissance. But with a growing era of many figures that interpret the meaning of humanism itself. Tertebut interpretation of which are still in kolidor approach to history, there is also the ekstrime or the so-called secular humanism that interprets humanism with methods that result in contradictory to religion, and this has led to the pros and cons of the theme of humanism.

Abstract

Environment is a place close to the existence of human life, but the environment also has significance for humans. With the physical environment man can use it to meet his material needs, with the human biological environment to meet his physical needs, and with his social environment man can meet his spiritual needs. This research has found that Tumpek Wariga as the local wisdom of the Balinese Hindu community is not an offering for plants, but a ceremony made, presented to the Lord. This means the ceremony is to express God's gratitude. The implementation of the ceremony Tumpek Wariga provides education to all Hindus of the importance of conservation, especially the preservation of plants.

Abstract

The Starting from the 19Th centuries, the word of secularization appears, the secularization is intended to hand over power and property rights to the state church and secular foundations. And in the 20th century, the term has developed a conceptual long, so it has meaning and significance vary. While in Indonesia the word secularization or secularism is the word 'proscribed' was to talked. In Indonesia the issue of secularization first raised in the 1970s by Nurcholish Majid and reap the pros and contra. Differences of secularization and secularism, secularization is understood as the process of release of Life is no longer dominated by the religious institution or authority of religious institutions. Secularization is also be interpreted as a separation movement or extrication themselves from the power of religious institutions in its various aspects. While secularism is as an ideology or ideologies that deny the existence of a sacred setting. The leaders  agreed to the secularization and secularism modernization of Auguste Comte, for example, he announced that as a result of modernization, the people is grow beyond the "theological stage" in the evolution of social and religious at that time will be abandoned. It also resulted in the secularization of Modernization. Because the transformation is the shift in value is due to the attitude of the religious by growing who tend to adapt themselves to the structure of modern society, which is materialistic, rational and pragmatic and very demanding realization of subsistence. Positive side of secularism is as an ethical system, which teaches people to continue to improve their living standards that benefit by finding good in the world through human abilities without being bound and the reference to religion or religious doctrine that is supernatural. The downside of secularism is defined as the ideologies that reject sacred settings, resulting distrust of religion.

Abstract

This study tries to analyze Islamic Liberal thought in Indonesia context. Islamic Liberal in this study analyzed of its genealogy, a frame of reference and contextuality of issue on Indonesia, by using two approaches were complementary. The first, by using positivistic approach to objective explanation an Islamic Liberal thought. The second, by using verstehen approach to interpret the meaning of Islamic Liberal thought on its context. It‟s found that in Islamic Liberal thought there are many problems that can make social destruction, because it goes beyond text, seeking that which is represented or revealed by language, then it‟s miss social meaning which based on the text. Islamic Liberal thought didn‟ really destructive in it‟s thought, but in its implementation which is not true to context. In the middle east context, Islamic Liberal thought struggles to liberate the spirit of Islam from corrupt power isolation. But isn‟t like that on Indonesia, because the political majority in Indonesia isn‟t majority religious.

Abstract

This article  to discuss the radical groups that exploit it through social media,  this matter take a very large role in providing information to the public,  especially young people will be radical ideology.  Given the fact that the recruitment of youth into radical organizations mostly done by using the internet.   Social media plays an important role in providing information to the public on the issues so that the public terpropaganda radicalism towards radical issues in spread through the media.  This fact is evidenced by a number of terrorist groups that use social media to media propaganda and build a special site as a medium to coordinate all activities related to the execution of terrorist acts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the problems faced by the Department of Comparative Religion in Indonesia especially in UIN, Bandung, Jakarta and Yogyakarta. The problems could be experienced by the students or by the department, in both academic field and student affairs, besides among academic authors also wish to express how the perspective of rural communities, in the village area of West Bandung Cibenda about majoring in comparative religion, is it true this course can not be accepted by society, especially rural areas? The results showed that there was strong relationship between exclusive religious attitudes and religious conflict in society. The exclusive attitude could trigger conflict easily. In this situation, the existence of the Department of Comparative Religion is needed, as an academic medium which task is to produces mediators,  who can reduce or reconcile religious conflicts through mainstreaming inclusive and pluralist religious attitudes in society,  Unfortunately, the existence of this Department has not been promoted well. So that, people has not perceive this department well.

Abstract

A conviction, however, the shape is not born from empty space, including a religious sect. He comes from a special variety of life experiences that a person experiences appropriate yan g embraces these beliefs. In practice a cult require means to be recognized. This research seeks to understand the characteristics of a sect that has a very unique, with different religious backgrounds but to sustain an existence of their religion, they establish sect. By using a kulitatif method in Darma Ramsi monastery Cibadak an object of study, researchers sought explores the other side of this sect. The results of this study concluded that the concept of many according to Ramsi Vihara Dharma is by giving what is needed other people, namely in the form of staple food, because in a way it is similar to a living person, when the  activity was undertaken gods will be happy and radiated to the monastery pilgrims themselves.
