Abstract

This study aims to analyze the amino acid component contained in the golden sea cucumber so that it can be used as a basis for consideration, management, especially the development of sea cucumbers. Protein in sea cucumbers have complete amino acids, both essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids. The result of the proximate test of golden sea cucumber has high protein content which is 95,14% and fat 0,20% compared to other sea cucumber type while the protein of sea cucumber is very low that is 1.78% and 1.54% ash. The highest content of dried sea cucumber amino acids in golden sea cucumber meat seen in glutamic acid of 6.6049%, 7.1769% glycine, aspartic acid 3.9227% and proline of 3.4189% while the results of wet sea cucumber amino acids have a low amino acid value with glutamic acid 0.2281%, Glycine 0.2308% and Alanin 0.2169%.

Abstract

The purposes of this research was to investigate the proximate content, amino acid content and sensory snakehead fish (Channa striata) powder broth with the effect of drying temperature. The research was conducted on April 2016 to August 2016. The research method was used randomized block design (RBD). Drying temperature treatment used 50 oC, 60 oC and 70 oC. The parameters of this research was proximate analysis such as water content, ash content, protein content, lipid content, and carbohydrate content while for amino acid analysis only to find out the amount of essential amino acids and non-essential course and analytical sensory (appearance, flavor, texture, color and taste). Proximate content gave significant effect on protein content and there was no effect on water content, ash content, fat and carbohydrate content. Gave significant effect on sensory analysis (appearance, flavor, texture, color and taste). The concentration of protein content of the resulting broth powder ranges from 11.99% to 20.94%, there are eight types of essential amino acids and 7 types of non-essential amino acids while sensory analysis produced for sightings range from 3.72 to 4.52, flavor range between 3.8 to 4.32, textures range from 3.52 to 4.4, color range from 1.88 to 3.8 and taste range from 3.84 to 4.4.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the effect of electric current on the survival rate of Fry finger in dry transportation. This research was conducted at the Aquaculture Laboratory in Aquaculture Study Program of Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya on April and September 2016. The research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications. The stunned fry finger was put in styrofoam and brought for 2 hours. The parameters observed in this study were the number of unconscious fry finger, duration to be conscious, the number of recovered fry finger, and the survival rate. The results showed that stunning with different electric currents had a significant effect on the number of unconscious fry finger of which the largest number was on the current of 0.07A at 96.67%. The fastest duration to be conscious was on 0.05A at 46.67 seconds. The largest number of conscious fry finger at 66.67% was on the current of 0.05A. The best treatment with the survival rate reached 66.67% was obtained by the low current of 0.05A, while the lowest percentage of fry finger viability with the rate 46.67% was reached by the highest current, 0.07A.

Abstract

Consumer demand for live fish commodities has increased, especially for the type of fish that have high economic value, one of which is tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus). Good handling transportation system is needed to make fish still alive until destination. The purpose of this research is to determine the concentration of Pangium edule leaves extract best as the fainting of tilapia in fish transportation. This research method was an experiment with two replications with each concentration 0, 600, 800, 1000, 1300, 1700 and 2500 ppm. The research consists of a preliminary research to determine the limited concentration extract of Pangium edule leaves that can make mortality to the fish and primary research to determine effective concentration as anesthetic material and application during dry transportation system. The results showed that the effective concentration of Pangium edule leaves was 2500 ppm with faint average 35 minutes and recovery time was 5 minutes. Application of Pangium edule leaves extract for the dry transportation system with a concentration of 2500 ppm reached an optimum level of survival rate was 100% for 2 hours.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to assess the status of sustainability from fish ckerekers processing house hold in Ogan Ilir by a multy-dimensional system. The sustainability analysis used a modification method of Rapid Appraisal for Fisherier (RAPFISH). This research used a survey method to read a fact that occurs in location. The visit and interview have been done by using, structure quisionnaires. The data proced as a tabulation and a analised by descriftive method. As a result, the sustainability status of ckerekers processing in ogan ilir was less sustainable, wich indeks value was 2.29. From all dimension, the marketing dimension was the highest indeks value that means enough sustainable. In other hand, the technology dimension was the lower value of sustainable indeks, with status s was not sustainable.

Abstract

Crackers are a type of biscuits produced through a fermentation process. They are crunchy, have a flat shape and a rather salty taste, and when broken, they show a multi-layered cross-section. A study on the effects of the addition of siamese gourami fish meal on the sensory and physicochemical characteristics of crackers was carried out at the laboratory of Fishery Technology. This research used a randomized block design with five treatments of different types of the concentration of siamese gourami fish meal, i.e. 0%, 5%, 10%, 20% and 30%. The observed parameters were sensory characteristics, physical characteristics (color and crispiness) and chemical characteristics (water content, ash content, protein content, fat content, and carbohydrate content). The results suggest that the addition of siamese gourami fish meal significantly affects the sensory characteristics (appearance, odor, color, texture and crispiness), as well as chemical characteristics (ash content, moisture content, protein content, fat content, and carbohydrate content). The best treatment found in this research was A2 (20 g fish meal : 180 g wheat starch).

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to know the physicochemical and sensory characteristic of seaweed nugget with an addition of carp fish meal. The research was conducted from March 2016 until February 2017. The research method used a randomized block design (RBD). The treatments were 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% of fish meal. The parameters of this research were chemical analysis such as water content, ash content, protein content, carbohydrate content, and calcium; physical analysis was hardness, color and sensory analysis (color, taste, and texture). The results showed that treatments gave significant effect on water content, ash content, protein content, lipid content, carbohydrate content, calcium, lightness, chroma, hardness, and taste, but there was no effect on hue, color and texture. The water content was 47.01%-48.19%, ash was 1.29%-4.36%, protein was 2.26%-7.10%, lipid was 11.83%-14.79%, carbohydrate was 26.75%-36.42%, calcium was 15.11 mg/100g-48.46 mg/100g. The lightness of this seaweed nugget were 33.70%-63.43%, chroma 25.00%-35.10%, texture 26.97 gf – 50.80 gf. Taste sensory analysis of seaweed nugget were 2.72 (unlike) – 3.84 (like). The best treatment found in this research was A1.

Abstract

Catfish (Pangasius sp.) aquaculture in Gandus district until now have some problems such as decreasing environmental quality due to decreased water quality so resulting water pollution, limited knowledge and skill of cultivators, the technology used is still limited and simple, and technical production has not same of SOP (Standard Operation Procedure) so that production not yet good. Constraints and problems in cultivation need to considered, because in addition to being a challenge also a threats to the development of fish farming. Therefore, catfish aquaculture in Gandus district Gandus subdistrict needs to developed based on application of cultivation technology in accordance with the support environment. The research was held in Gandus district of Palembang. The purposes of this research were to identification enlargement catfish aquaculture situation, analyze internal and external factors of the aquaculture and analyze a developing strategy catfish aquaculture. The research was descriptive. Data resulted were analyzed by descriptive qualitative and quantitative. The score of the IFAS analysis was (-0,18) and score of EFAS was 0,77. The SWOT analysis result was in the third quadran, so the strategy applied is WO strategy (Weakness-Opportunities). WO strategy is a strategy minimalized weakness to get the opportunity. In the business, WO strategy was used in the standard category. Strategy are used water quality management and good in terms of quantity and quality to reduce pollution of the aquatic environment, give training and skills to cultivators about technology utilization and production system to increase global production, the use of appropriate technology to reduce pollution of aquatic environment to increasing market demand, and enhance cultivation cooperation with local agencies in providing extension regarding the implementation of production standards.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to investigate the nutritional content and profile amino acid of siamese gourami (Trichogaster pectoralis) fish meal. This research was conducted on Agustus 2016 until Oktober 2016. This research method used laboratory experiments and the result then analyzed descriptively. Parameters observed were proximate analysis consisting of moisture content, ash content, fat content and protein content, amino acid analysis and the analysis mineral of calcium and phosphorus. The result showed that water content, protein content, fat content, the ash content of siamese gourami for fish meal material were 79.27%, 5.08%, 3.50% and 3.16% respectively. While water content, protein content, fat content, the ash content of siamese gourami fish meal were 2.68%, 65.21%, 4.22%, 18.65% respectively. According to amino acid analysis, on siamese gourami for the material fish meal had detected 18 amino acid was detected that consist of 10 essential amino acid with the total value 69,437.92 mg/kg and 8 non-essential amino acid with the total value 68,448.62 mg/kg. While for siamese gourami fish meal had detected 18 amino acid that consists of 10 essential amino acid with the total value 366,629.6 mg/kg and 8 non-essential amino acid with the total value 381,846.88 mg/kg. The value for calsium and phosphorus siamese gourami (Trichogaster pectoralis) were 0.0034% and 0.1964% respectively. While the value for calcium and phosphorus of fish meal were 0.004% and 0.26% respectively and the whiteness value was 55.44%.
