Abstract

This study aimed to solve the problem of low performance at PT. Api Metra Palma (AMP). Procurement is an important aspect in the company because ineffective procurement process may cause disruption to the overall business process and hinder the operational capability of the company. This procurement problem has occurred at the company long enough, causing a variety of losses, and is a complex problem because it involves many functional parts of the company. Performance measurements for procurement are delivery performance and order fulfillment lead time. Indicators of low performance in the company's procurement are marked with the slow realization of the demand (more than one month) and the underachievement of Quality Objective (QO) of the Department of Procurement and General Affairs.The analysis framework employed the stages of TOC Thinking Process. This theory uses five application tools, namely: Current Reality Tree (CRT), Conflict Cloud (CC), Future Reality Tree (FRT), Prerequisite Tree (PT), and the Transition Tree (TT). Those tools were utilized to identify the key problem, develop solutions and determine the solution to the problem. All the stages were presented in the form of effect-cause-effect relationship in a system and were presented in a form of visual images through a Tree Diagram. This study used a new approach in the TOC Thinking Process, namely the three cloud approach/3-UDE Cloud. This approach can provide guidance for communicating with various parties within the company without creating any resistance through the exposure of conflict in the company. This theory also provides a means for the system to make continuous improvement through the reinforcing loop.This study resulted in the identified root causes of the procurement problem, namely the company’s inability to change the current resources (that support the procurement) to become more reliable. A General Injection to solve the conflicts that exist within the company is through the transformation of procurement resources to become reliable. The transformation is carried out upon human resources, information technology, and procurement methods. The transformation description of the resource procurement is achieved through the implementation of several programs, namely: Internal Technical Training, Holding Visit and Midyear Coordination Meeting, TI Integration for the Procurement of Goods, Network Improvement, Negotiation of Priority Scale Policy Change, Term of Payment (TOP), Early Warning System, and Improvement of Document Control. This study was also able to identify that the company’s paradigm of cost efficiency in all functions and which was derived in the company's policy only caused the company to lose the competitiveness due to the weakened procurement performance.

Abstract

Tujuan studi ini adalah memperoleh instrumen utang dan ekuitas untuk yang tepat untuk pendanaan proyek investasi tugboat dan tongkang PTMS, memperoleh komposisi/struktur pendanaan yang tepat untuk proyek investasi tugboat dan tongkang PTMS, mendesain action plan untuk proses perolehan dana proyek investasi tugboat dan tongkang PTMS. Metode yang digunakan adalah analytical hierarchy process yang digunakan sebagai pengambilan keputusan untuk pemilihan instrumen pendanaan yang digunakan, dan pemilihan struktur pendanaan yang tepat untuk mendanai proyek investasi dengan pendekatan cost of capital. Hasil yang didapatkan adalah sesuai dengan kondisi internal dan eksternal perusahaan,bahwa instrumen yang digunakan adalah saham biasa dan hutang bank, sedangkan struktur pendanaan yang tepat untuk membiayai proyek tersebut adalah 90% saham dan 10% utang bank.

Abstract

At first, the history of the establishment of Islamic banks is intended as an alternative to conventional interest-based bank. The Islamic banking industry proved its strength to face the economic crisis. Islamic banking is also noted to have a much better growth compared with conventional banking. However, the growth of Bank Danamon – Sharia Business Unit (UUS), founded in 2002, looks not meet expectations. This condition leads to the preliminary studies and research to find the best form of sharia Bank Danamon, in order to achieve the growth targets set by the Management. To get the best form of sharia, conducted by collecting and organizing important information you need, evaluate the results (outcomes) of any decisions taken, and plan on projecting the expected results. At least there are three informations or elements necessary to produce a quality decision, namely: the existence of clear objectives (goals), alternatives or options that can be run (alternative), and the factors that influence the decision making (criterion). BOCR analysis is then used to find the best way of solving problems by considering the various criteria that give significant influence on an issue. The analysis was performed by using the method of AHP/ANP that gave rise to three scenarios for the results (outcomes) that you expect: standard conditions (B/C); pessimistic B/(CxR); and realistic conditions (BxO)/(CxR) . The best alternative is selected that has the highest value use scenarios realistic condition. With BOCR analysis using three scenarios, i.e.: standard scenario, pessimistic, and realistic, founded that SPIN-OFF option remains the best option.

Abstract

Dewasa ini penggunaan social media menunjukkan tren yang semakin meningkat dalam skala global. Dengan peningkatan yang pesat tersebut, penggunaan situs-situs internet dalam jejaring social media seperti misalnya Blog, Facebook, Youtube,Twitter, dsb. memiliki dampak yang berarti terhadap tahap pengembangan suatu bisnis pada umumnya dan membentuk pola baru perdagangan elektronik dunia maya (E-commerce) di masa yang akan datang. Tulisan ini merupakan sumbangan tinjauan pemikiran dari sudut pandang bisnis yang mungkin dapat dimanfaatkan untuk keperluan riset manajemen lebih lanjut terhadap aspek hubungan interaktif dalam penggunaan jejaring social media, berkaitan dengan peranannya sebagai salah satu faktor pendorong pertumbuhan industri E-commerce dalam skala global, serta peranannya dalam evolusi industri jejaring social media.

Abstract

The positive psychology and positive organizational behavior approach has grown rapidly in the last decade. This research was designed to find the relationship between strengths use and psychological capital (PsyCap). Survey questionnaires are administered to Indonesian employee, most of them in managerial level. After that, several simple regression procedures are performed. The main finding is that the strengths used among Indonesian manager is low. The low score can be attributable to the mindset dimension of strengths use. Other finding is that, although have a positive significant correlation coefficients with PsyCap, the strengths use in the workplace is a weak predictor of PsyCap. Some discussions about the findings and managerial implication is presented.
