Abstract

The problem of poverty has a very urgent nature and has no clear boundaries. This is due not only to its continued upward trend, but also to its impact that transcends the economic sphere, encompasses social aspects and even threatens political stability within the country. Most countries with large populations also tend to have higher poverty rates compared to countries with smaller populations. Likewise, with the level of education and TPAK where inmany communities with low economies, opportunities to get adequate education, ranging from elementary to higher, are often limited, furthermore, if TPAK increases this can have a positive impact on economic growth. This study uses time series data with variables of population growth, education level, , TPAK, and poverty rate in the last 26 years, namely 1996-2021 until the number of observations is 26 observation points. Based on the results of data processing and testing simultaneously shows that population growth, education rate, and labor force participation rate (TPAK) affect simultaneously in Papua Province. Population growth has a negative and significant effect on poverty. The level of education, that is, the average length of schooling, has a negative and insignificant effect on poverty. The labor force participation rate (TPAK) has a negative and significant effect on poverty. keyword: Population Growth, Education Level, TPAK, Poverty

Abstract

The study investigates the impact of capital, working hours, business duration, and e-commerce on the suckling pig (Babi Guling) business in Denpasar City. Babi Guling, a traditional Balinese dish, has transitioned from being solely associated with religious events to becoming a culinary attraction for tourists, potentially boosting tourism in Bali. The study categorizes Babi Guling as a Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprise (MSME) under Government Regulation no. 7 of 2021. The research employs primary data and adopts Roscoe's theory due to an unknown population size. Accidental sampling is used to select participants who meet specific criteria within Denpasar City's four sub-districts. Data analysis utilizes multiple linear regression. Findings reveal that capital, working hours, business duration, and e-commerce collectively influence the income of Babi Guling ventures in Denpasar City. Individually, capital, working hours, and business duration significantly impact income. Moreover, Babi Guling businesses in Denpasar City that incorporate e-commerce generate higher average earnings compared to those not utilizing e-commerce. keyword: Capital, Working Hours, Business Duration, and e-commerce

Abstract

The problem that most often arises in development is unemployment. Development will be hampered if unemployment increases because it triggers the emergence of new problems in the economic and social fields. According to Sukirno (2006), unemployment is a situation where a person included in the labor force wants to get a job but has not got it yet. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP), Total Population, Human Development Index (IPM), and the Covid-19 Pandemic on the unemployment rate in the Province of Bali. The data used is secondary data, namely unemployment data, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP), Population Projection, Human Development Index (IPM), and the Covid-19 Pandemic as a dummy variable. This research was conducted in 8 regencies and 1 city in Bali Province from 2017-2021. This study was tested using panel data regression analysis techniques with the selected estimation model, namely the common effect model using Eviews software. The results of the research conducted show that the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) has a negative and significant effect on unemployment, total population has no significant effect on unemployment, the Human Development Index (IPM) and the Covid-19 Pandemic have a positive and significant effect on unemployment in the Province of Bali. keyword: Unemployment, GRDP, Total Population, HDI, and the Covid-19 Pandemic.
