Abstract

Instagram is the first largest social media in the world with a total of 26,9 billion active users in 2020. In Indonesia alone, several new phenomena such as endorsement and paid promotion have been carried out by celebrities famous for Instagram. This study aims to analyze the motivations behind endorsement of both the brand and the party itself. And the effect of endorsement on followers. The study was conducted on one of the celebrities with their @rachelvennya account. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. And the data collection methods used in this research are interviews, documentation studies and literacy studies. The results in this study indicate that with the emergence of new media such as Instagram, the rise of celebrities is used as a tool to market products from online stores. Where this endorsement phenomenon arises because of the appropriate reciprocity between endorsement service users and also with endorsers. Celebrities who become opinion leaders succeed in making Instagram followers interested in what they are marketing on Instagram stories.

Abstract

The awarding of the title "Mangkubumi" to Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Pembayun, contextualises the successor to the throne. In the Islamic kingdom of Yogyakarta has never been led by a queen. This seems to be the step of the Sri Sultan HBX to change the position of the Yogyakarta Sultanate. The demands of globalization, especially the emancipation of equal rights of men and women, are the reason. The openness of the leader's mind determines the progress of the Yogyakarta Sultanate. Three information on globalization: 1) slowly leaving modernity. 2) moving towards new conditions. 3) Demonstrate the dynamics of development (Steger, 2008: 8). Cultural globalization refers to intensification and expansion. Associated with culture, globalization is a symbolic construction, and articulation, some opinions suggest that cultural practice lies in contemporary globalization (Steger, 2008: 69). Paugeran did not become a reason for rejecting the appearance of the Queen in the height of modern power. Development dynamics and the creative economy make life balance in the welfare of society. The social and cultural environment in Yogyakarta changes with the needs and realization of life. Like the spatial layout of the city, the tourism sector and culture in Yogyakarta. In this era of globalization it provides a space for gender equality and male domination is a past for women in the Yogyakarta Sultanate.

Abstract

Digital divide in rural areas becomes important to be investigated so that later the results of this study can become literacy for the community in increasing the potential of human resources and social living standards through the use of information and communication technology. Research objectives (1) analyze the level of global information accessibility among rural communities in 4 community groups namely, groups of farmers, civil servants, students and housewives. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey method to the study population originating from Belopa Village and Desa Senga Selatan. Samples taken amounted to 100 respondents with stratified sampling technique. Descriptive statistical analysis techniques are used to analyze the level of global information accessibility among rural communities. The results showed that (1) the level of global information accessibility among rural communities in the farmer group was quite low, where none of the 100 respondents surveyed used digital devices to access information through online media, (2) the level of global information accessibility in the group Civil servants are good enough where out of 100 respondents the most active PNS groups access information through online media, (3) the level of global information accessibility in the group of housewives is quite low where of the 100 respondents studied only 6% access information through online media.

Abstract

This journal article reviews the literature on the implementation of computer-mediated communication in electronic recruitment or digital staffing which aims to explore how the computer-mediated communication environment has been applied in optimizing its activity. In addition, there are study investigations in particular the benefits of computer-mediated communication and the factors that influence the use of computer-mediated communication in this kind of activity at  startups focused in recruitment services. This study discusses the implementation of computer-mediated communication as a forum for digital staffing. In this era of globalization, recruitment activities have shifted from traditional channels and practices to online processes. Therefore, online recruitment today has presented a series of different practices that occur on the Internet, especially in the recruitment of workers based on mobile applications and websites. This research was conducted with a qualitative method in which semi-structured interviews were conducted by interviewing three employees with various positions ranging from staff to manager level in a startup company of digital staffing. The purpose of this study is to explore the perspectives of employees regarding digital staffing based on mobile applications and communication media used in the process. This research shows that computer-mediated communication patterns cause several changes including in the conventional staffing to digital staffing through mobile applications and websites.

Abstract

The high level of human interaction with the screen or screen technology (cellphone, computer) as part of the information needs raises a human behavior that is more concerned with face to screen relationship than face to face. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Information and Communication Technology on the effectiveness of interpersonal communication of students in Kendari City and what impacts resulted from the development of information and communication technology. The research location is a university in the Kendari City area. Data collection is done using the questionnaire (questionnaire), interviews and documentation. Respondents numbered 75 people, while the research informants totaling seven people were determined purposively. The results of the study show that the variable X (information and communication technology) influences the Y variable (effectiveness of interpersonal communication) of students in Kendari city where the variables together have an effect of 0.596 located between the values 0.50-0.69 indicating that the correlation coefficient value in a strong relationship.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the communication revolution and the social changes that impact the Covid-19 pandemic on society. This research uses the theory of Social Change and Modernization. The informants in the study were students of the Islamic Broadcasting Communication Department of IAIN Bukittinggi. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach study. The results showed that the communication revolution that is happening right now Students who are economically capable, can communicate well with their Lecturers using one of the modernization products namely information technology (smartphone) with applications such as WAG, Google Classroom, Meetgoogle, Zoom and others. While students who are economically incapable, they cannot communicate with their lecturers in the learning process at home. The perceived obstacle for economically disadvantaged students is the financial constraints of buying a smartphone as a means of communicating with their lecturers, pulses and data packages to contact the lecturer, some using their parents' cellphones or relatives. While students who are economically capable, the obstacle in this case is that they often use communication tools, they more often abuse these communication tools for other purposes such as being used to play games, tiktok, social media, youtube and others especially if their parents fill out data packages unlimited. Abstract

This research aims to determine the utilization of Radio Belitung Timur (RBT 89.7 FM) in spreading Covid-19 virus alert information to people in East Belitung area. This research methodology uses qualitative methodology with descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used are primary data through direct interviews with the two informants, namely the chief manager of RBT radio and one of rbt radio broadcasters and conduct observations, while secondary data is obtained from websites, documents, books and articles. The results of this study showed that the utilization of RBT radio in the delivery of Covid-19 virus alert information is very petrifying in responding to be ready to face this virus and its strategy in addition to broadcasting on the usual radio in general RBT utilizes social media facebook with live streaming on its account that is packed with Talkshow format and also by frequently playing Public Service Ads (ILM) Pandemic Covid-19. As a listener, beltim people are more accepting of the bribes of information provided and only a handful of people who want to ask via direct phone and also SMS/WA because most of the people are a bit reluctant and embarrassed to ask questions and afraid of the wrong things to ask about the Covid-19 virus problem in Beltim.  But with the ability of the broadcaster (radio host) in provoking the issue of questions, so that what the listener wants to ask is already represented by the radio broadcaster.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the ability of social media literacy in migrants as a means of self and group existence. And will explore how the shape of interaction that occur between migrants and indigenous people on social media, to realize social integration. This research uses a qualitative approach. Collected 20 conversation transcripts from WhatsApp Group (WAG) then analyzed with Teun A. Van Dijk's Critical Discourse Analysis technique. Where there are three main aspects to be investigated, namely the structure of discourse, social cognition and social analysis. The results of this study indicate that migrants have been able to use social media as a means of self-existence and social interactions have occurred between migrants and natives, both in terms of culture, education, economics, social and politics.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap kemampuan literasi media sosial masyarakat pendatang sebagai sarana eksistensi diri dan kelompoknya. Dan akan melihat bagaimana bentuk interaksi yang terjadi antar warga pendatang dan warga pribumi di media sosial, untuk mewujudkan integrasi sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Dikumpulkan 20 transkrip perbincangan dari WhatsApp Group (WAG) kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik Analisis Wacana Kritis versi Teun A. Van Dijk. Di mana terdapat tiga aspek utama yang akan diteliti yaitu struktur wacana, kognisi sosial dan analisis sosial. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa warga pendatang telah mampu menggunakan sosial media sebagai sarana eksistensi diri dan telah terjadi interaksi sosial antara warga pendatang dan pribumi, baik dalam aspek budaya, pendidikan, ekonomi, sosial dan politik.

Abstract

Communication technology is increasingly developing and providing convenience to every user. Modern society is also required to be fast and easy, by it the transformation of payments in the form of cash has turned into noncash due to technological advances. The ease of this service is realized to be able to change the lifestyle or behavior of the community, especially in Makassar City. This study aims to determine the effect of the convenience of si technology, especially non-cash transactions, on consumptive behavior. This study uses aquantitative-exploratory method with a sample of 100 respondents who are the people of Makassar city. Based on the test results both simultaneously and partially, the research results show that there is a significant direct influence between the ease of non-cash transactions referring to its dimensions, namely clear and easy to understand, does not require long thinking, is easy to use, can be controlled, is easy to be skilled and flexible towards consumptive attitudes Makassar city people.

Abstract

The post truth era can be called the era of specific social shifts involving opinion makers and mainstream media. Competition of facts and hoaxes and lies to gain public trust. The mainstream media that was once considered one of the sources of truth is the current mainstream media must accept the fact that currently the barrier between lies and truth, non-fiction fiction fraud and honesty is very thin. In simple terms Post-truth can be interpreted that rather than looking for the community's truth, it is more justifying the information obtained. The improper use of social media is an implication of the presence of information technology which is a catalyst for the development of Post-truth, digital technology can produce its own reality, such as what has been scheduled in the agenda setting interest groups, so the separation between markers (signified) and markers ( signifier) is the impact of this situation. The purpose of this study, is to obtain data related to how the effectiveness of Post-truth communication among Makassar City youth in social media has a more intellectual impact or has a negative impact. Quantitative descriptive research methods with a qualitative approach. socializing the habit of Self Censoring, which is not directly trusting information or news even if it is viral before proving it to find out that news is hoax, fake news, fake news, news according to facts or truth (post truth), so the results of this study are the effectiveness of communication as a catalyst The development of post truth brings positive things for millennial adolescents, especially in Makassar City.
