Abstract

The utilization of renewable electric power plants (non-fossil) in friendly environment needs to be done by using of solar energy for electricity generation. PT. LEN Industry built solar power Plant on Oelpuah Village, Kupang Tengah Subdistrict, Kupang Regency, with a total capacity of 5 megawatts Peak, which currently operates and the biggest Solar Power Plant in Indonesian. As a result of the operation of these solar power, it can be expected to have environmental impacts. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of Physical Chemistry like air quality, water quality and noise, inside and outside of solar power plant operation. The results showed, because of PLTS Operation, it has an impact to physical chemistry environmental quality, but the impaCT STILL below the threshold of environmental quality standards.

Abstract

This research was conducted using carrying capacity analysis method. The purpose of this research was to analyze the seagrass condition and the carrying capacity of seagrass tourism development in Pari Island. Quantitative method is used to reach the research purpose. The result showed that seagrass species found were Halodule ophalis, Cymodocea rottundata, Enhalus acoroides, dan Thalassia hemprichii. Seagrass’ coverage and density at Bintang Beach were recorded as 59.83% and 76 ind/m2 respectively, 47.56% and 54 ind/m2 at Kresek Beach, and 16.61% and 9 ind/m2 at Pasir Perawan Beach. Diversity index of seagrass in Pari Island was 1,199, categorized as moderate condition. The carrying capacity score for seagrass as tourism object in Pari Island in ecological aspect were 94 tourists/day for Bintang Beach, 59 tourists/day for Kresek Beach, and 58 tourists/day for Pasir Perawan Beach. Based on social aspect, local people of Pari Island were mostly welcome the tourists, and the tourists were quite not satisfied with the tourism objects. In economic aspect, tourism activities increase local peoples’ income.

Abstract

Shifting cultivation is cultivation system performed alternately from one field to another on forest lands. This study aims to assess changes in structure and composition of vegetation and determine the conditions of environmental factors during shifting period. This research use chronosequence approach at sites with different ages i.e. two, four, six and eight years compared to natural forest using structured form squares (20x100 m2) belt transect comprising several terraced plots. Vegetation parameters were measured for all forms, environmental factors measured were microclimates and edafic factors and soil macro-nutrient content. The results showed that 42 species of 23 families founded in all forms. The vegetation distribution from diameter classes (KD) indicated that KD 0-10 cm had the highest number of individual density from all research site and declined sharply with the increase of KD. The potential regeneration of tree species vegetation component of each site showed some different patterns. In aspect of microclimates, the temperature decreases along with sites age. Edafic factor did not show any clear pattern with increase of sites age for C, N and P, while soil K levels were significantly higher in the youngest site age than the older sites.

Abstract

Water Treatment Plant (WTP) IPB process water from Ciapus River by water purifying process before distributed to consumers. The type of coagulant used is Al2(SO4)3 (aluminum sulfate) or alum and Polyaluminium Chloride (PAC). This study aimed to compare the water quality by using coagulant Al2(SO4)3 and PAC in WTP Ciapus River IPB Dramaga and to find out the optimum dosage of coagulant alum and PAC . This study used a test jar method and ISO (SNI) for the analysis of physical and chemical parameters of water. Based on the results of research, PAC was better than alum with the optimum dose of 20 ppm which produces 0.22 NTU of turbidity, 1 mg/l of TSS and 150 mg/l of TDS. While the optimum dose of alum was 20 ppm which generates 0.49 NTU of turbidity, 0 mg/l of TSS and 164 mg/l of TDS. Average costs for the use of coagulant alum and PAC were Rp. 95/m3 and Rp 215/m3, while the average value of the efficient used of coagulant alum and PAC were 91.34% and 83%. The results of both coagulants meets the criteria of water quality standards in accordance with Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 429 of 2010.

Abstract

Maritime sector is an advance development priority of the current government. Various development programs such as coastal communities and borders empowerment, maritime infrastructure development, increased production of marine fisheries and the maritime conservation has become important program priorities. However, in implementing these programs, financing and budgetary aspects remained a major constraint both in central and local government. Therefore, various breakthroughs and alternative sources of financing are needed to support the development of environmentally maritime sector. The purpose of this study is to explore the various aspects of financing that can be promoted by the stakeholders, including the government in addressing the issue of budget constraints for the development of maritime sector. Methodology that will be used in this research is descriptive analysis that will explore various alternative sources of financing as well as benchmark analysis of both cross countries analysis and cross sectoral analysis. This study is expected to provide recommendations for stakeholders, especially the government in creating a new alternative sources of financing to support the development of environmentally maritime sector.
