Abstract

Aside from being a place of lectures, UMY also has several business units such as building rental, bus rental, auto care, and drinking water production. From the activities of UMY's business unit caused the number of outside vehicles entering UMY. The public vehicle does not have RFID as well as the UMY's internal civitas. Currently still using manpower to provide parking cards and open the door. In this study, a prototype of an automated parking system can provide a parking card and open the entrance. This prototype uses a switch as a sensor, a microcontroller as a controller, LCD as a guide display for the model of vehicle that will enter, and motor servo DC as the driver of parking doors. The entire circuit is able to form a prototype automatic parking door at UMY

Abstract

University Course Timetabling Problems is a scheduling problem to allocate some lectures with some constraint, such as the availability of lecturers, number of classrooms and time slot in each day. The schedule of courses is one of important factors before start the semester in order to manage the study process. Generally, the university course scheduling in some universities are usually created manually through administration office. It needs to synchronize for all schedules from all departments in faculty of the university. In addition, the limitations of classroom and timeslot can make collision of the courses, lecturers and also incompatibility between the room capacity and the number of students whom take the course in the class. This paper proposes the university course time tabling systems. Based on some simulations with 93 courses, 18 lecturers and up to six classrooms, the result is that the system will get the best violation if the system adds more number of iteration. This situation also happens in the result of the scheduling lectures, the system will get the best percentage when the number of iteration sets as maximum.

Abstract

A radiosonde is one of the high technology tools and useful for aeronautical. In radiosonde have several sensors like air temperature, air pressure, air damp, vapor point, direction, and airspeed. Data from measure result will be received by supervising station in earth surface. Information will be collected by subarea air upstairs in Meteorology Station Klas I Depati Amir Pangkalpinang. An observation was done at 00.00 UTC (07.00 am) and at 12.00 UTC (07.00 pm). A transmitter in this observation is GPS Radiosonde iMS-100. The result shows that the radiosonde can work well at air pressure of 20 to 1000 hPa.

Abstract

Community service program is a compulsory subject for all students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). The existing information system of community service program in UMY is still run conventionally starting from registration system, group division and work area announcement. Meanwhile, students should come and ask directly to Office of Research, Publication, and Community Service to get all the information related to the program. This current system is complicated not only for students but also for officer who manage all data about community service program in UMY. Manually administered management cause frequent errors in invading data and takes a long time to complete the activity. Researchers initiated solution to overcome this problem by implement an application of management information system. This research has developed a web-based application that can be used to manage registration, personal data filling, and periodic scheduling for students whom take the community service program. Various parameters implementation as success determinant of system creation has been applied, so obtained a decent system used. The application is based on windows operating system that easily could be accessed through web interface. System testing has been done both from users (students) side and admin. the form of the webbased application developed has followed the standard manual form so that the system can work effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

Power distribution system is a component of an electric power system to deliver electrical energy from substation to customer location. In power distribution system, there are some power loss was changed as heat. Power distribution losses is a natural occurrence, so one gets to be done only minimize to support global energy efficiency. The way to reduce power loss in the power distribution system is by reconfiguration the existing line. Reconfiguration means a process of operating the switch (NO and NC) and change the topology line. Then, power loss in the power distribution system is computed with “ETAP” simulation software. From computing result of distribution network losses on existing line at PT. PLN UPJ. Bantul BNL 6, BNL 7 and BNL 11 feeders are gotten energy losses as 2,669,328 kWh per year or 1.72 %. Network reconfiguration that involves BNL 6, BNL 7 and BNL 11 feeder gets energy losses decrease by 1.00 % per year.

Abstract

Electrical distribution system is a component of electrical power system that is very important because it is closest to the customer. In its operation, the distribution system often suffers that causes the flow of electricity to the customer is interrupted. This situation is not expected by customers or by electric power companies. The more frequent and longer the occurrence of electrical power flow interruption, the lower the system reliability, and vice versa. Reliability of a distribution system can be analyzed based on SAIDI and SAIFI parameters. In this research, reliability analysis of distribution system on Gejayan substation. The analysis result using SAIDI and SAIFI parameters shows that Gejayan substation is reliable enough to national standard, while based on international standard still not reliable.

Abstract

This paper describes the user interface construction of rocket/aircraft condition monitoring systems on LabVIEW, a graphical-based programming language. The interface, placed in the ground station, has some important information transmitted from the rocket. The information contains real-time data from the sensor devices. The aim of the construction of this interface is that the operator in the ground station can monitor the behavior and the condition of the flying rocket, in regard to the self-control mechanism programmed within the rocket. The LabVIEW front panel includes the visualization of 3D rocket motion, accelerometer-graph, gyroscope-graph, rocket navigation, GPS positioning, altitude, and pressure-meter. The result proved that the data transmission was recorded properly to the front panel system and logbook. In addition to the result, the reliability test has 50% probability to the system performance with the given test period of 300 seconds and 600 seconds. The low reliability result might be caused by the size of buffer overflow between the hardware and LabVIEW.
