Abstract

ABSTRACT Analysis of Rice Production Efficiency (Case Study in Subak Guama, Marga District, Tabanan Regency) The research was conducted in Subak Guama, District Marga, Tabanan regency from November 2011 to April 2012. Determined the selection of study sites intentionally (purposive sampling) with particular consideration of the Tabanan Regency Guama Subak is a center of rice production in the province of Bali. Efficient use of production factors were analyzed with the equation of the Cobb-Douglas production function, technical efficiency, allocative efficiency and economic efficiency and the magnitude of the benefits of rice farmers were analyzed with analysis of costs and benefits. The analysis showed that the seed production function, urea and NPK fertilizer (Phonska and Rainbow) have real impact on rice farming. Test results and economic allocative efficiency suggests that to get the maximum income of farmers to reduce pesticide use and the benefits of farmers in the rice paddies in one growing season is in March through the month of June 2011 amounting to Rp. 16,102,582.00 per hectare. Therefore, to achieve optimum production and maximum profit it is necessary to the addition of seeds, fertilizers, Urea, NPK fertilizer (Phonska and Rainbow) and reduce the amount of pesticide use that exact type, dose, time and route of administration. Farmers utilizing Koperasi Usaha Agribisnis Terpadu (KUAT) Subak Guama for capital assistance, price certainty, the certainty of marketing and high profit levels so that farmers do not lose money with a middleman. Abstract

ABSTRACT The Efficiency Analysis of Rice Farming Activities (Case Study of Subak Pacung Babakan, Mengwi District, Badung Regency) This study was aimed to determine the use of production factors and constraints faced by farmers in carrying out farming activities in Subak Pacung Babakan, Mengwi District, Badung Regency. Collecting data in this study conducted from November to December 2011. To find out the production factors were analyzed using the equation Cobb-Douglas production function, technical efficiency, price efficiency, and economic efficiency. To know the figure out of constraints experienced from farmers it used qualitative descriptive methods. The results of the research in technical efficiency analysis all of production factors are not efficient and not significantly. The results of pricing efficiency, all these factors there is no efficient production. It also in factors economic efficiency of production is not efficient. That is because of production factors used to excessive, therefore when use of factors production should be reduced to achieve levels of efficiency. The constraints faced are most of the farmers low in their economic and obtain hard to run a farm input. Key words: efficiency, production factors, constraints

Abstract

ABSTRACT Perception of Farmers Towards Conservation of Agricultural Field with Subak System in Urban Setting Subak is a Balinese cultural heritage in the form of an irrigation system that regulates the distribution of water management based on the mindset of harmony and togetherness, which is based on formal rules and religious values. The most obvious drawback of this traditional irrigation system is inability to block out the damaging artifact, which manifests itself in the form of land use so, the existence of this traditional irrigation system including the subak system in Bali to be difficult to implement. Site selection research done on purpose (purposive) with consideration of Subak Buaji having land uses competition. Subak Buaji is one of available subak in urban areas who had of farmers decrease in the last five years. Respondents in this research is 30 people were taken from 297 farmers with a purposive sampling method. The results shows that the perception farmers of the preservation of agricultural fields in the urban system in Subak Buaji, Village Kesiman, District of East Denpasar, Denpasar categorized either by the achievement score of 81.07% which means that urban farmers have a good perception of the existence of subak system of agricultural fields. Perception in this assessment is reviewed from three aspects including economic, social and cultural aspects and technical aspects. Based on the research of urban farmers are advised to keep making the agricultural sector as a livelihood without having to sell the farm. For agricultural extension agents as the sole government stooge and as agent of change, should be able to provide solutions to problems and participate saprodi anticipate land which is a big problem for the agricultural sector. Abstract

ABSTRACT Farmers' Behavior on the Empowerment and Development of Animal Agribusiness The Empowerment and Development of Agribusiness at Lembaga Mandiri yang Mengakar di Masyarakat (LM3) is a government program to make agriculture resilient, increasing added value and competitiveness of products, and improving the welfare of farmers. This study aims to assess the behavior of farmers towards the empowerment and development of agribusiness farms in LM3. The location of the study is determined by using purposive and retrieval methods performed by the method of census respondents. Measurement data using a Likert scale and tabulated based on predetermined criteria. Further data analysis descriptive. By using descriptive analysis, it was found that the farmers behavior of the program in the category of middle, by achieving a score of 54.61%. This is due to a lack of seriousness of both parties in implementing program. Therefore, it is suggested that the monitoring of each month from the Department of Animal Husbandry and sustainable development of the program. Abstract

ABSTRACT Marketing System of Sari Buana Coffee Powder at UD. Mega Jaya Ground coffee is a beverage that is very common and widespread in the surrounding communities. The success of the company to deliver products to consumers will require a merchant supplier, in the form of marketing agencies to quickly get to the consumer product. The role of the marketing agency is required by companies to market their products. This study aims to determine: 1) the marketing of coffee powder Sari Buana marketing at UD. Mega Jaya. 2) the magnitude of marketing margins in each of the agencies involved in each marketing channel. The research was conducted at UD. Mega Jaya, Central Singapadu Village, District Sukawati, Gianyar Regency. Data obtained from the field were analyzed with descriptive methods and analysis of marketing margins. The study found that the marketing of coffee powder in UD. Mega Buana Sari Jaya starts from the manufacturers, marketing agencies, and distribution. UD. Mega Jaya is a producer Sari Buana ground coffee that has multiple functions in the conduct of marketing such products, has a raw material procurement, production, product inventory, production costs, choose a marketing agency, pricing, promotion, delivery, ordering, and well received by the company's risk. Marketing agencies involved in marketing products in the company starting from major retailers and small retailers that distribute products to end customers. So that products marketed to consumers quickly end. Marketing channel consists of four channels, namely: 1) Company - Large - Small Retailer - Consumer. 2) Company - Large Retailer - Consumer. 3) Company - Small Retailer - Consumer. 4) Company - Consumer. Of the channel obtained the highest sales volume at the company's channel I and III. Marketing margins in the channel I is equal Rp.2.500 (5.882%), channel II Rp. 2500 (5882%), channel III Rp. 1000 (2.352%) and Rp IV line. 0 (0%). Judging from the company's product sales volume, the first marketing channel is the channel of the most highest level of sales as compared to other channels. So it is recommended to do further research to determine the most effective channels and profitable for the company and UD. Mega Jaya should be much more to maximize the performance of existing marketing channels by controlling the marketing of all existing institutions. Abstract

ABSTRACT Optimalization of Farming System on Members of Catur Amerta Farmer Group in Sebudi Village, Selat District, Karangasem Regency The development of agriculture in this time strived to realize agriculture vision 2025 which aims to sustainable agriculture and can guarantee food resilience and also prosperity of farmer. One of the way to reached the vision is by optimization the integrated farming system that conducted by all farmer, including in Bali, especially in Karangasem Regency. Accordingly, a research is needed on farmer group member of Catur Amerta Sari in Sebudi Village, Selat District, Karangasem Regency. This research aims to know the actual earnings, the optimal model, and maximum earnings of integrated farming system which obtained with analysis of optimization toward 28 farmer group member of Catur Amerta Sari. Integrated farming system that conducted by responder is chili, tomato, gumitir flower, cabbage, and cattle rearing. Data type that used is data qualitative and quantitative, while data collected used field study and bibliography study method. Data processed with Gross Margin analysis and Linear Programming. Result of Gross Margin analysis indicate that highest earnings obtained by tomato in Cropping Season 1, the lowest earning obtained by cabbage Cropping Season of MT 2, while the actual gross margin is Rp 34,346,985.12. Based on result of optimization using the program of BLPX88, maximum earnings that can be obtained is equal to Rp 35,166,200.00 with the average 0.444 ha of the land cultivated per years by planting chili in Cropping Season 1, Cropping Season 2, Cropping Season 3; tomato in Cropping Season 1, Cropping Season 2, Cropping Season 3, gumitir flower in Cropping Season 1, Cropping Season 2, Cropping Season 3, cabbage in Cropping Season 2, and cattle rearing yearly. Respondents suggested that to apply optimal integrated farming system as according to result of analysis of optimization so that the farmers get maximum results. Besides, the respondents suggested not to rent labors because the labors in family still available. Keywords: optimalization, diversified farm enterprise system, gross margin, linear programming.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Influencing Factors of Land-use Change: Case Study of Subak Daksina, Tibubeneng Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency A land-use change of agricultural land into non-farm is increasing every year along with increase in population and development in tourism sector. Accordingly, continuing conversion of agricultural land may lead to food security problem in the future. Determination of factors in affecting agricultural land use shifting was carried out in this study using survey method to farmers. In addition, in-depth interview and observation were used in data collection. Explanatory factor analysis was used to achieve the aims of the study. Results of this study reveals that there were four factors affecting land use shifting, covering land condition, eviction (associated with the human population conditions), land use (for own interests), and the land ineffectiveness. Among 16 variables included in the model, only two variables, i.e. post harvet risk and land tax. Key words: land use, eviction, land ineffectiveness.

Abstract

ABSTRACT A Comparison Study of Rice Milling Unit Performance With and Without Artificial Drying of Rice Husk Fuel in Tabanan Regency Post-harvest handling of rice is a strategic effort in maintaining the quality of rice in the process of drying and milling. Grain drying process can be performed with and without artificial drying. Artificial drying husk-fired technology is a breakthrough, because the husk is a source of bioenergy alternatives that can produce thermal energy for drying grain. The research was conducted in Tabanan in the District Highways Penebel, taken (purposive). In this study there were two attempts made in rice mills with drying rice husk-fueled and two census taken in the rice milling business without artificial drying was taken as (purposive). The data collected were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the use of artificial dryers influential and instrumental in increasing the volume of dry grain harvests, especially in the wet season. Comparisions between the employers perception of the rice milling quality of rice produced in court with and without artificial drying produced quality rice that are equally good. While the MH to generate artificial drying of rice quality is better than without artificial drying. Comparasion of profit per ton of grain in the rice milling business with smaller artificial drying of Rp. 259.716,81 than without artificial drying of Rp. 279.699,91. Need the addition of artificial dryers to increase the volume of unhusked rice yields and quality, especially in the wet season. In the rice milling business with artificial drying to increase profits, then the court should not use artificial drying or drying floor just use it. Further research needs to be done about the financial performance of the rice milling business with and without artificial drying. Keywords: performance of rice milling, drying grain, husk fuel
