Abstract

Analysis on Input Optimization of Corn Production in Waimangura Village, Sub-District of West Wewewa, Southwest Sumba RegencyThe purposes of the study were: to determine the influence of factors of productionin corn farming on production and to analyze the level optimum use of productioninputs in the corn farming. The research area was determined purposively. Theanalytical methods used to analyze the production inputs that affect the productionwere a Cobb-Douglass model of Production Function, and marginal product valueanalysis to determine the level of optimization of the use of production inputs. Theresults of the study are as follows: (1) Production inputs used in the corn farming arethe area of land, seed, labor, Urea, NPK fertilizer, M-8 fertilizer, Super ACI fertilizerand fungicides. (2) The use of production inputs in the study area are as follows,Partially, only urea fertilizer significantly affected the corn production, while otherproduction inputs were not significantly affected on the corn farming. (3) The use ofproduction inputs in the study area have not been optimal. For the use of productioninputs of urea, M-8 and Super ACI fertilizers was not optimal. Thus, the use ofproduction inputs need to be added to reach optimal use of production inputs, whileland, labor, seed, NPK fertilizer and fungicides have exceeded the optimal use so thatthe use of inputs should be reduced to gain optimal results.

Abstract

Analysis of Technical Efficient Use of Fertilizer and Pesticide Cultivation Asparagus di Desa Pelaga, Kecamatan Petang, Kabupaten BadungPelaga Village located at the Subdistrict of Petang, Badung Regency is an area thatcarry out the program of One Village One Product (OVOP) with asparagusdistinctive product since 2010. Cultivation of asparagus is influenced by the use offertilizers and pesticides including chicken manure, cow manure, urea, NPK andpesticides, where the quantity of fertilizer and pesticide use affects the production ofasparagus. This research aimed to analyze the effects of the use of fertilizers andpesticides, the farmer acceptance and to analyze the technical efficiency ofcultivation of asparagus. This research uses multiple linear regression method thatincludes: classic assumption test consisting of normality test, heteroscedasticity, testof multicoliniearity and test the linear regression model, which includes: coefficienttest determination (R2), F-test and t-test with a level real (?) of 5%. After that, inorder to analyze the technical efficiency by using the Data of Envelopment Analysis(DEA). The equation used is the production function model of Cobb-Douglasproduction function of the natural logarithm. The use of fertilizers and pesticidestogether in the cultivation of asparagus significantly affected the production ofasparagus. Partially only cow manure (X2) and NPK (X4) which significantlyaffected the production of asparagus, asparagus farmers’ income was Rp. 3,219,932for a month and already exceeds the Minimum Wage of Badung Regency. Based onthe analysis of technical efficiency, the asparagus cultivation has been efficient buthas not been able to achieve performance levels of efficiency of full-technicallyefficient, because the average technical efficiency achieved was 63%, with a rangebetween 38.5% and 100%. The value of technical inefficiency or technicallyinefficient average is 37%.

Abstract

Rice Farming Revenue Analysis of Ciherang Varietyby using the PlantingSystem of Legowo Row 2:1 (A Case Study in the Subak of Sengempel, Bongkasa Village, Sub-District of Abiansemal, Badung Regency)Rice is one of the crops that has the potential to be developed economically. The waythat can be done to increase the rice production is by the use of superior and effectiveagricultural technology. Farmers in the Subak of Sengempel are growing the ricevarieties of Ciherang by using Legowo row planting system 2:1 to boost theproduction of rice. The purpose of the study was to determine the revenue, R/C ratioand the constraints of Ciherang varieties of rice farming using Legowo row plantingsystem 2:1 in the Subak of Sengempel, Bongkasa Village, Sub-District ofAbiansemal, Badung Regency. The selection of location was conducted purposively, and the determination of the respondents was taken by purposive sampling consistingof 30 farmers of respondents. The results of research of Ciherang varieties of ricefarming by using Legowo row planting system 2:1 showed that in one growingseason, the production costs incurred was Rp 15.533.330,99/hectare, obtaining Rp27.109.333,33/hectare, which generated revenues of Rp 11.576.002,34/hectare. TheR/C ratio was 1,75 per hectare and theobstacles facedwere technical problems in ricecultivation of Ciherang varieties. Farmers are advised to make the cultivation of ricevarieties of Ciherang using Legowo row planting system 2:1 because the ricefarming is profitable or feasible. The farmers should suppress or reduce theproduction costs, especially the labor costs outside of the household. The farmers areexpected to anticipate the pest attack in rice plants.

The data used wasthe real price of rice in the local market as well as data from BPS from 2011 to 2015.To the market integration, it was measured based on IMC (Index of MarketConnection). The results showed that Bali rice market integration integrated in theshort terms with other provinces except with Central Java, South Sumatra, andLampung. In the long terms Bali integrated with other provinces, and best integratedwith West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, and NTB, with their respectiveelasticity transmissions of 0.75; 0.88; 0.82; and 0.79. The role of government isexpected to build good information network, so farmers as producers can have betterbaraining position in determining the prices at the producer level.
