Abstract

Procedures and Obstacles in The Implementation of Organic FertilizerProduction Unit in SubakAbianSukaMaju at Landih Village, Bangli District, Bangli RegencyThe Organic Fertilizer Production Unit (UPPO) is one of the government’s efforts to support the supply availability of organic fertilizer for farmers. The purpose ofthe research is to know the procedures and obstacles of UPPO programimplementation in SubakAbian (Traditional Agrarian Organization) SukaMaju atLandih Village, Bangli District, Bangli Regency. The data was collected throughinterview and documentation. 48 respondents were determined through purposivesampling method. The instrument of the research used questionnaires andinterview guidelines. The analysis method was descriptive qualitative analysis. The procedure of UPPO at SubakAbianSukaMaju began from the preparationstage which consists of socialization, agreement making, and organizationforming. After the preparation stage, comes the execution stage which consists oflocation determination, infrastructure construction, cage construction, livestockpurchasing, and facilities preparation. The last stage is the production, such as thelivestock sales benefit and manure. The execution stage is categorized as goodbecause the facilities well-supported the activity. The obstacles of the programimplementation are such as technical issues in preparing the infrastructures andfacilities, economic issues in allocating the aid fund as well as the return of cow sales benefit. There are also several social issues such as the low education of themembers, weak aspiration of the members, no leader figure within the society, andthe lack of innovation.It is recommended for the government to better monitor theUPPO program implementation, to mentor and assist the farmers, and to completethe infrastructure and facilities that the UPPO lack of, such as the fermentationtub, three-wheel vehicles, organic fertilizer manufacturing machines, animals’health certificate, and medicines for the livestock.

Abstract

Competency Of Simantri Companion In Making Biourine In The Simantri Group InTabanan Regency. Integrated farming system (Simantri) is one of the superior programs of the Bali ProvincialGovernment to increase the role of the agricultural sector and support the making oforganic fertilizer. Organic fertilizers are in solid and liquid forms. extension agents play animportant role in increasing the competency of farmers in making liquid organic fertilizer.On the other hand, the competence of the instructor must also be adequate and understandin making liquid organic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine thecompetency of Simantri's companion in biourine technology transfer and dissemination ofbiourine technology in the Simantri group in Tabanan Regency. The sample used in thestudy amounted to 30 respondents Data obtained in this study were processed and tabulatedusing quantitative analysis methods.Based on the results of research on simantri companioncompetencies in Tabanan Regency, it consists of (1) Mastery of biourine technology showsthat the category is very high, this is supported by giving information, reaching a score of 133 which shows very high categories in the parameters of management. (2) Competenciesobtained from the application process obtained in using the tools directly that reach a veryhigh category with a total score of 120 in the usage time parameter. (3) Then thecompetency in disseminating biourine technology which reaches a very high category isobtained on the indicator. counseling with a score of 131 in the percentage parameters.Thefacilitator gave more training to the Simantri group, especially in mastering technology, theapplication process and also dissemination in the making of biourine, and it was hoped thatthe Simantri companion would give more information about biourine so that the mastery ofmaking biourine was better.

Abstract

Marketing Channel for Cayenne Pepper in Puger Sub-District Jember Regency East Java Province The difference in the cayenne pepper marketing channels in Puger Sub-District, JemberRegency has an impact on the price for producers and consumers. The selling price ofcayenne pepper at the farm level during the harvest season in July-September 2017continues to decline and the bargaining position of farmers was considered weak. Thepurpose of this study was to find out the marketing institutions and channels, marketingfunctions, marketing efficiency (EP), and the ratio of the cost of cayenne pepper inPuger Sub-District. The data used were qualitative and quantitative data. The analysisused is descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The respondents of this studywere 51 farmers (Mojosari, Grenden, and Jambearum Villages) which were determinedby the proportional random sampling method and 15 marketing institution respondentsdetermined by the snowball sampling method.The respondents of the marketinginstitutions consisted of one middleman, four sub-district level collecting traders, threeinter-city traders, and seven retailers. There are three marketing channels namely, (1)farmers- collecting traders - retailers (Balung, Grenden, and Pasar Tanjung markets) -consumers, (2) farmers - collecting traders - inter-city traders (Jakarta) - markets inJakarta, (3) farmers - middleman - collecting traders - inter-city traders (Jakarta) -markets in Jakarta. Every marketing institution performs marketing functions, namelyexchange functions, physical functions, and facility functions. The functions performedby each institution are different. All marketing channels in this study are efficient. Themost efficient marketing institution in the marketing channel I is the collecting traders,onmarketing channels II, namely inter-city traders, and on marketing channelsIII, namely inter-city traders with the same values as in marketing channels II. Eachchannel has a collecting trader. When it was compared, the collecting traders at channelI was the most efficient institution.

Abstract

Subak Lepang is located in Banjarangkan District, Klungkung Regency with an area of 165 hectares. That subak is experiencing water limitations so that the farmers are very difficult toget water. Besides that, the dry season is too long, at night the subak members must close thetertiary channel in order to get higher water volume into the rice field. Based on the casehence purpose of this study to know profile of Subak Lepang viewed from social aspect,economic aspect and technical aspect. This research data obtained through structuredinterviews and documentation then it analyzed by using descriptive qualitative analysismethod. The result of this study shows that profile of Subak Lepang viewed from economicaspect is included in high category (69,78%) and from technical aspect included in highcategory (70,21%) and social aspect included in medium category (67,07%). On theeconomic aspect, this is due to the cooperation between subak and cooperatives regarding thedistribution of subak fertilizer. Technical aspects shows that the maintenance of irrigationfacilities obtain a high indicator because subak members able to maintain and keep the SubakLepang’s irrigation facility. Social aspect in moderate category due to rare water so thatsubak members should able to manage water more efficient. Therefore, subak membersshould together to provide a water reservoir for used irrigation so that during the dry seasonthey not lack of water in the rice field.

Abstract

Consumer Perception of Local and Imported Orange in Denpasar The purpose of this study was to determine the level of consumer perceptions of localcitrus fruits and imported oranges in Denpasar City and to find out whether there weredifferences in consumer perceptions of local citrus fruits and imported oranges inDenpasar City. This research was conducted in Denpasar City, namely in the traditionalmarkets and modern markets that have been determined. The population in this studywere consumers who bought and consumed local citrus fruits and imported oranges usingthe accidental sampling method, which was accidentally taking samples at the researchlocation while buying or having consumed local citrus fruits and imported oranges, thenumber of respondents was 40. Data collection was used in This study uses interviewmethods, namely structured interviews and in-depth interviews. The data analysis used inthis study is descriptive analysis and Mann-Whitney test analysis (U Test) using SPSS20.Oranges are one of the most consumed fruits by the community, because besides beingeasily accessible to oranges, they also have high vitamin C content. The people ofDenpasar City are one of the consumers who buy and consume local citrus fruits andimported oranges, because besides being consumed citrus fruit is used as acomplementary means of religious ceremonies for Hindus on holidays. Various types oforanges sold on the market make consumers have to make decisions about the type oforanges that will be bought. The level of consumer perceptions of imported oranges ishigher than the level of consumer perception of local oranges. Indicators of taste, color,texture, aroma, availability, and price determine the different perceptions of local jeurk and imported oranges in Denpasar City.Based on the results of analysis, consumers consider that the quality of imported orangesis better than local oranges. Researcher's suggestion is that there is a need for firmnessfrom the government regarding the holding of imported fruit restrictions so as not tosuppress similar products produced domestically.
