Abstract

Test the Effectiveness Some Kinds of Decomposers on the Organic Waste Composting Process in Denpasar City This study aims to determine the quality of compost and decomposition rate of compost mix raw materials by using several kinds of decomposers. This research was conducted from November 2020 to February 2021 at the Sari Sedana Garbage Depot, on Bung Tomo IV Street number 1 in Denpasar, and for the analysis of compost samples located at the Soil Laboratory Agricultural Faculty of Udayana University. The design used in this study was a randomized block design. The compost mix raw materials (CM) consisted of 40% organic waste, 40% cow dung, 10 % husk charcoal, 8 % sawdust, 2 % dolomite, and decomposers (according to each treatment) + molasses. There were six treatments of various decomposers with four replications consisting of P0 (control): 100% organic waste (15 kg), P1: CM + EM4 and molasses, P2: CM + Beka and molasses, P3: CM + BA-5 and molasses, P4: CM + Biofit and molasses, P5: CM + Biogenic and molasses. The observed compost quality parameters included: C-organic, N-total, C/N ratio, P-available, K-available, moisture content, and pH. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), followed by the Duncan’s Multiple Range Test 5% difference test. The results of the research showed that the use of decomposers had a very significant effect on the quality of the compost produced and composting process rate. The rate of decomposition and the best compost quality according to SNI 19-7030-2004 were shown by the P1 treatment with the EM4 as a decomposer.

Abstract

Study of Grafting Time on the Success of Grafting on Wani Ngumpen Bali (Mangifera caesia Jack. Var. Ngumpen Bali) Wani ngumpen Bali is a mango relative plant that grows in Bali and potential to be widely developed because it has unique and superior properties because 90% of the fruit produced has small seeds and thick flesh that makes it seem like it has no seeds. Considering the wani ngumpen Bali plant is difficult to propagate through generative because the seeds are relatively difficult to get so that propagation is done using vegetative cultivation technology. One of the vegetative propagation is grafting or connecting shoots. This research aims to study the timing of splicing to the success rate of wani ngumpen Bali shoots. The study was conducted from February to April 2021. This study was conducted in Sudaji Village, Sawan Subdistrict, Buleleng Regency, with an average height of 500 mdpl, rainfall of 3000 mm per year with a temperature of 18o-23 o C.This study used a randomized block design (RBD) with 1 factor consisting of 5 levels treatment time grafting. The treatment was repeated 7 times and in each replication there were 2 plants, so that there were 70 experimental units, with treatment W1 (at 09.00-10.00 am), W2 (at 11.00-12.00 pm), W3 (at 13.00-14.00 pm), W4 (at 15.00-16.00 pm), W5 (at 17.00-18.00 pm). The data obtained were analyzed descriptively because the research data did not meet the requirements for statistical tests. In the nursery, shoots of wani var. Ngumpen Bali is affected by the connection time. The success of shoot grafting in wani ngumpen Bali, best during the day, at 13.00-14.00, with percentage of seedlings successfully growing 35,51%, shoot length 21.10 cm and number of leaves 13 strands.

Abstract

Propagule Induction of Node Culture of Grape (Vitis vinifera) varieties Prabu Bestari at Various Concentration of BA and NAA Propagation of grape seeds still uses conventional methods such as cuttings and grafting. In vitro culture technology can be a solution for plant propagation techniques that using small explants and in small quantities but capable to producing large amounts of seeds. Propagules are new formations that arise from explant tissue, can be in the form of shoots or callus that can occur through direct or indirect organogenesis. The aim of the research was to obtain the best culture medium in the formation of propagules. The research was conducted in two stages, the first was propagule induction and the second was subculture. The research used a Completely Randomized Design. Propagule induction was used a factor with combination of BA and NAA. The levels use of ZPT BA are: 2 ppm, 4 ppm, 6 ppm and the levels use of ZPT NAA are: 1 ppm, 3 ppm, and 5 ppm. The total combination treatment was 9 treatments and the addition of treatment K0 (control). Each treatment was repeated 3 times for a total of 30 experimental units. The subculture medium used was WPM + 1 ppm TDZ. The results showed that MS treatment with a combination of ZPT BA and NAA succeeded in forming propagules in the form of meristemoids and shoots. K3 (MS + 2 ppm BA + 5 ppm NAA) was the treatment that gave the best response to the percentage of meristemoid formation of 100%. K4 (MS + 4 ppm BA + 1 ppm NAA) was the treatment that succeeded in inducing 33.3% shoots.
