Abstract

ABSTRACT The Diversity and Density of the Population Parasitoid who Associated with Plutella xylostella L. (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) on Plantation Plants without and with Insecticide Application The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Integrated Pest and Disease  Management, Concentration of Plant Protection, Department of Agroecotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University. The purpose of this research to find out diversity and density of parasitoids population associated with  Plutella xylostella on cabbage plantation without and with insecticide application. Sample was taken by using diagonal sampling. There are nine points sample on cabbage plantation without and with insecticide application and each point content 18 plants. The sample was taken every weeks, while application insecticide was done every 10 days. Data was analyzed by using T-test. The result of the research indicated that there is one parasitoid was found associated with P. xylostella on cabbage plantation without and with insecticide application. That parasitoid is Diadegma semiclausum. Population of P. xylostella and D. semiclausum not significant difference on cabbage plantation without and with insecticide application, and so it seems of parasitization rate of parasitoid.   Keywords: insecticide, Plutella xylostella, parasitoid, cabbage

Abstract

ABSTRACT The Effect of Type and Spray Frequency of Leri on Growth of Phalaenopsis sp. Orchid after Acclimatization This research purpose was to know about interaction between type and spray frequency of leri and also single impact of this treatment to Phalaenopsis sp. orchid growth after acclimatization. The location of research was in Kerobokan, Badung district in May–September 2011. Used randomized block design, orchid seedlings were treated by combination type of leri such as leri from Ciherang white rice, Ciherang brown rice, brown rice of red local type and spray frequency such as once in 2 days, once in 4 days, once in 6 days also once in 8 days  with 3 repetition. The result showed that brown rice of red local type and once in 4 days spray frequency each had the highest variable result on height accretion of plant (4,08 and 3,89 mm), length of roots (47,15 and 45,40 mm), fresh weight of upper plant organ (895 and 896,67 mg) and also dry weight total of plant (55 and 55,56 mg). Interaction between brown rice of red local type and spray frequency once in 4 days was the best combination to increase orchid seedling growth after acclimatization. Keywords : orchid, leri, acclimatization.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Study of Some Weeds Extract to Control Root Knot Nematodes Meloidogyne spp. on Tomato Licopersicum esculentum Mill Root knot is the disease that caused by root knot nematodes Meloidogyne spp. Nematodes growth on the roots of plants that clog nutrients and water , blockage will cause impaired photosynthesis process of plants and plant nutrient deficiency symptoms are visible. This research using kirinyuh weed (Chromolaena odorata), kerasi weed (Lantana camara), babadotan weed (Ageratum conyzoides), alang- alang weed (Imperata cylindrica), and semanggi weed (Marsilea crenata) with a rate of 1:10 where the extract used is 250 cc of each extract weed liquid. The result of nematode population per 300 g of soil showed babadotan extract can suppress nematode populations Meloidogyne spp. only about 13 pcs/300 g soil, with the percentage of 97.4 % suppression, next is kerasi extract 19 pcs/300 g soil (96.2%), kirinyuh extract 19 pcs/300 g soil (96.2%), alang-alang extract 20 pcs/300 g soil (96%), and semanggi extract 37 pcs/300 g soil (92.6%). The result of nematode populations per 1 g of root, kerasi extract is the best suppress root knot nematode populations, there are only 37 pcs/ 1 g roots, with an emphasis percentage of 92.6%. next kirinyuh extracts 40 pcs / 1 g roots (92%), alang-alang extracts 54 pcs/ 1 g roots (89.2%), semanggi extract 60 pcs/ 1 g roots (88%), and the last is the babadotan extract 70 pcs/ 1 g roots (86%) .   Keywords: Ageratum conyzoides, Chromolaena odorata, Imperata cylindrica, Lantana camara, Licopersicum esculentum Mill., Marsilea crenata, Meloidogyne spp..

Abstract

ABSTRACT Influence of Dose of Organic and Nonorganic Fertilizers to Yield of Rice (Oriza sativa L.) and Soil Chemical Compound on Inceptisol Kerambitan Tabanan A factorial experiment was conducted to study the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer rates on rice yield and soil chemical characteristics under Inceptisol soil condition, located in subak Serongga, village of south Selingsing, Kerambitan district, Tabanan regency. Prior and after the experiments, soil analysis was conducted at the Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. A Randomized Block Design (RBD) trial was set up, which consisted of two factors: the organic (manure) rates (K) and the inorganic fertilizer rates (P). Plant parameters observed including maximum plant height, maximum number of tillers, number of productive tillers, dry weight of grain after harvesting and oven grain dry weight. In addition, soil chemical properties were also analyzed which covering N-total, available P, available K, and C-organic. The result of statistical analysis showed that the interaction between organic and inorganic fertilizers were significantly different (P<0,05) on the maximum height of plant, while the other variables did not show any differences (P>0,05).   Key words: organic and nonorganic fertilizer, rice, soil chemical compound

Abstract

ABSTRACT Perception and Preference of the Campus Landscape Aesthetic Quality Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University - Jimbaran Bali Generally the Faculty of Agriculture Udayana University Jimbaran Bali landscape has not been organized properly, except around the administration building. Unorganized landscape can be seen from visual quality or the aesthetic. This research aims to know students’ perceptions and preferences about the college landscape aesthetic, especially between organized and unorganized landscape areas. This research used Semantic Differentials measurement methods. The result shows that students’ perceptions of the campus landscape aesthetic based on form and color-scoring criteria are monoton, informal, linear, bright, cold, and secondary color.   Keywords: aesthetic, campus landscape, perceptions, preferences, Semantic Differentials
