Abstract

Identification of the causes of lute diseases in strawberry plants (Fragaria sp.) In Pancasari Village And Control Potential By Microbial Antagonists Strawberries (Fragaria sp.) Is one of the most popular fruits of the community because it has many benefits. Strawberry development in Bali is mostly done in the Bedugul area including Pancasari Village because it has a suitable climate for the development of strawberry plants. This study aims to identify the wilting disease that causes a decline in the yield of strawberry plants that reach 95% in Pancasari Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency. The use of synthetic chemical pesticides is the only way that farmers do in Bedugul area to suppress the strawberry disease. Several studies have reported that unwise and excessive use of synthetic chemical pesticides can cause problems and disrupt environmental balance. Control of plant diseases using microbial antagonists is one of the alternative of environmentally friendly control The method used is isolation, identification, pathogenity test and inhibit microbe antagonistic inhibitory test by dual culture technique. Research activities included (1) sampling of symptomatic plants, (2) isolation and identification of associated fungi at root of strawberry plant, (3) isolate fungal pathogenic test (4) isolation of microbial antagonistic candidate, (5) In Vitro test of antagonistic microbial ability Controlling the pathogen of wilt disease in strawberry plants. The results showed that, mushrooms associated with rooting of strawberry plants were pathogens of the genus Verticillium sp. In Vitro antagonistic test with Verticillium sp. Showed the results in which microbial antagonists were able to suppress pathogen growth by 64%. Anatagonic microbes from the fungus Trichoderma sp. Able to suppress the growth of pathogens of wilt disease (Verticillium sp.). Trichoderma sp. Has the ability to grow quickly Trichoderma sp. Also produce various compounds or enzymes that serve to inhibit or break down the cell walls of plant pathogens.

Abstract

The Effectiveness Test of Fungus Beauveria bassiana Bals. against Armyworm (Spodoptera litura F.) on Tobacco Crops Tobacco crops is one of the national commodity and plays an important role for Indonesian economy. Various attempts of cultivation technique have been implemented. However, obstruction are found on tobacco cultivation, one of them is armyworm (Spodoptera litura F.) pest. The effort of controlling the pests is still using chemical technique while in fact it leds to negative impact to living beings and environment. Therefore, eco-friendly control using fungus Beauveria bassiana Bals. in the form of formulation are necessary. This study was conducted to determine the quality and effectiveness of B. bassiana formulation obtained from Estate Crops Service of Bali Province against armyworm (S litura). Research method of this study was using a randomized block design with 5 treatments and 5 replicates. This treatment was using concentration of 60 grams, 45 grams, 30 grams, 15 grams formulation dissolved in one liter of water and the control of using water only. The observed variable was the mortality and intensity of armyworm attacks (S. litura). The result of this study showed that the formulation of fungus B. bassiana has characteristics in which the colonies are white, round-shapes spores, grape-shaped structure and the density of a spore is 1 x 107 spores/ml, therefore it considered it has a good quality. B bassiana formulation is able to infect armyworm (S. litura) on the fourth day. Efficacy test in the green house of 60 grams concentration dissolved in one liter of water showed a good result, with the highest mortality and the lowest damage intensity of tobacco crops.

Abstract

Seed Quality Testing Several Types of Horticultural Crops Circulating in Bali This study aims to determine the physical quality, viability, and vigor seeds of several types of horticultural crops those circulating in Bali. This research was conducted at Breeding and Seed Technology Laboratory and Plant Disease Laboratory of Udayana University Faculty of Agriculture, which lasted from February to April 2015. The method used is seed testing method with duplo system and using T-Test with three replications. The types of seeds that are tested for their quality consist of seven species: mustard, long bean, eggplant, ercis, cucumber, cayenne, and cabbage. The variables observed were physical quality (moisture content), viability (seed germination), and vigor (synapticity of seed growth). The results showed that the seeds of some horticultural crops circulating in the market in Bali have a pretty good quality. This can be seen from the physical quality test of seeds in the form of moisture content, almost all seeds have a relatively safe water content for storage. The result of seed quality test of percentage of seed germination gain between 90.33% - 97.33% in laboratory test is very good because it is above the standard germination value. The result of the simultaneous vigor test grew up to 59.00% - 69.00% is a good enough vigor value because it is at a level above 50%.

Abstract

The influence of the population of Aphids on crops of great chili pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) Against The Harvest One of the obstacles in the cultivation of pepper plants is the presence of aphid pest attack. The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the population of aphids on crops of Chili with different age and influence pest aphids attack against crops plant chili. Moving on to the results was showing that aphid pests attacked chili plants at different ages. The attack was found since the 100plant was two weeks after planting (wap) with the amount of 45.1 tail. Peak attacks occur in plants four weeks after planting (wap) with a total of 175.0 tails. Furthermore, the attack was a decrease due to the age of the plant getting older. An aphids attack results in low yields. Observation on chili harvest was done only 2 times. The highest occurrence of pepper crops has the lowest average yield of 33.8 g and 38.2 g whereas, the lowest pest-infected pepper plant has the highest average yield of 52.33 g and 57.2 g.

Abstract

Effect of Several Concentrations of Antitranspirant Chitosan on Freshness of Nymphaea Flower (Nymphaea caerulea) The purpose of this research was to determine the optimum concentration of Chitosan in extending the freshness of the nymphaea flower. This research was conducted at Postharvest Engineering Laboratory, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University Denpasar from November 2016 until January 2017. The design used was completely random design (RAL). This research consist was of one factor that was chitosan with five namely C0 = Chitosan 0 ml/L, C1 = chitosan 2,5 ml/L, C2 = chitosan 5 ml/L, C3 = chitosan 7,5 ml/L, C4 = chitosan 10 ml/L. Each treatment were consisted of five replicates, so the experiment was consisted of 25 experimental units and each experimental unit was consisted of two nymphaea stem cut. There were four observed variables, namely weight loss, total absorbed water, duration of freshness of interest, and respiration rate. The results showed that chitosan treatment had a very significant effect on all observed variables. Treatment of C4 (Chitosan 10 ml / L) was not optimum in extending the freshness of the nymphaea, but the concentration of 10 ml / L was the longest concentration to extend the nymphaea flower concentration compared to the other concentration (4.6 days).
