Abstract

Nowdays puppet is developing and produce new form as handicraft such as a decoration/souvenir which produced by craftsman of puppet craft horn at Pucang Village, Magelang Regency. The objective of the research is to describe an aesthetics form and process production of puppet craft horn at Pucang Village, Magelang regency. The methodology used in this research was interactive analysis. The result of the research showed there are some aspects in the aesthetic form of puppet craft horn at Pucang village, they are: design/gagrag, structures/parts of puppet, arrangement and the colour was simpler than wayang which used for its reference, but every character could be known. The process production still use conventional technique relies on craftsmen skill. Process production of puppet craft horn dived into three major points: 1) early stage 2) formation the characters of puppet 3) finishing. The suggeation proposes by researcher are: 1) for the craftsmen at pucang village should be defining and developing their creation of puppe whether it's form or the materials, 2) for the Department of Tourism and Culture, should be used it for exclusive handicraft or souvenir from Magelang.

Abstract

Painting is an popular activity on learning about arts at schools. Painting is an expression, appreciation, and recreation medium for students. Success in learning painting is determined by all learning components. . The purpose of this research was to identifying and describing the painting learning process at grade X and examines the result. The method used is descriptive research is qualitative approach, palce taken at SMA N 4 Magelang. Data collection techniques in this research based on natural conditions, primary data sources and data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Students painting result with trees theme are, the trees were drawn was medium to big trees. Colors wich used to the stems are brown and black with green and yellow colors for the leaves. Overall views of the value of research and analysis, most of the students were able to painting watercolors but less optimizations. In the learning process, hopefully the educator be able to be more creative when choose the learning method so that the students enthusiastic and motivated at learning.

Abstract

One of the traditional art assets that is owned by Semarang City is the presence of visual culture (art) Warak Ngendog, which is a work of art that became the main mascot in Dugderan ritual tradition. In this project study, Warak Ngendog is not presented in the form of three-dimensional statue but in the form of two-dimensional batik painting. Hopefully by using batik technique in painting making, it will be able to preserve and develop batik making technique in Indonesia. The purpose of this project is to produce batik painting with Warak Ngendog as a source of inspiration. The methods used include the selection of tools and materials, work techniques and the process of work. Based on batik tulis technique that is adopted as the making technique, the media used are materials (cloth berkolin, candle wax, paraffin wax, indigosol color paint, naphthol and salt color paint, koppel soga paint color), tools (canting, brush, electric batik stove and wok, watercolor pencil, cotton bud), equipment (sketch paper, pencil and eraser, gawangan, chair, spanram, plastic cup, cloth, apron, big bucket, pot, big drum, stove) and batik tulis making technique. The process of work is divided into two steps: conceptualization stage and visualization stage. The process of creation is through the stages of data searching, reference searching for batik techniques, preparing tools and materials, making designs, moving the design into cloth (molani), nyanting stage 1 (ngengreng), nembok, stage 1 (colet), nyanting stage 2 (ngisen -isen), coloring stage 2 (dye), nyanting stage 3, coloring stage 3 (dye), nyanting stage 4, coloring stage 4 (dye), nglorot, packaging. The author produces twelve batik painting artworks with Warak Ngendog figure in size 45cm x 45cm, 45cm x 90cm and 60cm x 60cm. Media exploration is done to get more interesting color effects, including the use of sungging technique, fractional technique and color splash technique. This project is expected to inspire UNNES academics in painting field especially art students.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini secara umum untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan kemampuan siswa dalam merancang motif batik gubahan flora, sedangkan tujuan khususnya adalah: (1) untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan pembelajaran menggambar gubahan flora , (2) untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa dalam merancang motif batik gubahan flora, dan (3) untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan hasil karya siswa dalam merancang motif batik melalui pembelajaran menggambar gubahan flora. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain Research and Development (R&D) dengan mengembangkan pembelajaran menggambar motif batik melalui gubahan flora. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi dan tes, sementara itu analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, (1) bentuk pembelajaran berkarya gambar rancangan motif batik gubahan flora tujuan pembelajarannya, siswa mampu membuat gambar rancangan motif batik gubahan flora berdasarkan prinsip-prinsip penggubahan (stilisasi) dengan unsur-unsur yang lengkap, dan mempunyai nilai estetis. Materi yang diajarkan adalah media dan prosedur berkarya gambar rancangan motif batik gubahan dengan metode dengan ceramah, demonstrasi dan penugasan. Evaluasi pembelajaran dilakukan berdasarkan tiga aspek yaitu, kesesuaian bentuk motif batik gubahan flora , prinsip-prinsip penggubahan, kelengkapan unsur-unsur motif batik, dan keindahan. Kemampuan siswa berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, secara umum mengalami perkembangan (2) berdasarkan data hasil karya dari pengamatan terkendali 1 dan dilakukan perbaikan pada pengamatan terkendali 2, kemampuan siswa dalam membuat gambar rancangan motif batik gubahan flora mengalami peningkatan. (3), karya yang dihasilkan sesuai dengan acuan dalam menggubah, unsur-unsur motif batik umumnya sudah lengkap, pewarnaan yang dilakukan pada bidang bentuk dan latar gambar dengan media cat air dan krayon, karya yang dihasilkan lebih indah.

Abstract

Generally, puppet art work needs a lot of money an equipments so that it’s impossible to be implemented in schools. In order to implement puppet in schools, the researcher used carton and rag as alternative media in puppet art work. The aim of the study is to describe, analyze identify, rag as coloring media of the puppet. The method used in this study is development research wich is done trough restrained observation. The collection of the data was done by observation, interview and documentation. The learning method used demonstrative, discussion and giving assignment method. The learning strategy wich is used is scientific approach. The data analysis was done by reduction, presentation, an verification of the data. The result of the student’s art work at the aspect of creativity wich got good score were 18 students of 56,25%, 13 students or 40,62% students were categorized very good score and enough category is a student or 3,12%. At the aspect of visual quality of the art work, there were 14 students or 43,75% got good category, 6 students or 18,75% got very good category, and 12 students or 37,5% of students got enough category. At the aspect of mastering the technique and procedure, 15 students or 46,87% were categorized as very good, and a studnt or 3,12% of student was categorized as enough.
