Abstract

Family is the primary social institution, the first place where the process of education and learning for children occurs. Studies with various social and cultural backgrounds show that family factors have a significant contribution to children's learning achievement in school and their social-personal development. Sociologically, family has dimensions of structure and process. The research focuses on family process factors that significantly influence children's learning achievement in school. The study was involving 121 families who have 5th-grade elementary school children from two selected elementary schools to represent the characteristics of urban and suburban families. The data analysis was performed by Pearson Product moment correlation analysis. The results showed that the process factors which consist of intimacy in family life, the ability to adapt families to changes and aspirations of parents in children's education, are factors that significantly correlated with children's learning achievement in school.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the benefits of implantation on the independence of children assisted Smart House Bang Jo PKBI Central Java. This study used qualitative research methods. Research location in Kp. Pungkuran No. 403 Kauman, Semarang City. Data analysis techniques are carried out inductively, where the mindset is repeated based on observing specific problems and then drawing on general conclusions. The results of the study showed the planting of independence by the Smart House of Bang Jo PKBI Central Java through the activities of making headscarves (brooches), key chains, soccer, futsal, study groups, coloring, singing, reading and solving problems together.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the character education implementation in the fourth-grade thematics learning of primary schools. This research applies a descriptive qualitative method. The technique of collecting the data is purposive sampling. The subjects consisted of SD Islam Al Madina, SDN Petompon 01, and SD Marsudirini. The techniques for collecting the data were deep interviews, observation, and documentation. The techniques of the data validity were a source and method triangulation. The findings showed the character education on thematic learning of the fourth graders of the schools had been promoted by integrating the character values in three stages. They were planning, acting, and evaluating. Each stage had different activities and internalized different character values. They were adjusted with the specific features, vision, mission, and objectives of the schools. The implications of this research are to describe the ways to implement character education in thematic learning at Primary Schools. Thus, the character values could be internalized well for the students during the classroom learning activity.

Abstract

Nowadays, character education is required to educate learners so they will be excellent individuals.Many schools take various ways to apply strategies to succeed in character education programs.Besides nurturing the characters at home, done by parents, the educational institution also plays agreat role to develop children's characters. This research used a qualitative approach. The data werecollected through in-depth interview, observation, and documentary study. The data analysis useddata reduction, display, and conclusion. The findings consisted of 1) the Islamic school characterbuildingstrategies in Dempet applied Islamic habituations. They were such as reading AsmaulHusna and reciting Al-Qur'an together in the morning before getting into the class and starting thelearning; 2) the implementation of character educational empowerment was done through Islamiccultures in Dempet district. It could be done by providing memorization tasks of Al-Qur'an verses.Every class should have different memorization level and should apply extracurricular to educate thelearners to have excellent characters, and 3) the engaged hindrances during its implementation werelacks of parents' controls. Thus, the learners tended to have bad personalities while being at schoolor home.

Abstract

The low economy is the reason for mothers to work abroad, which reduces the quality of parenting in the family. The research objective was to determine social life, economic life and parenting styles. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation and documentation. The informants in this study are; upper class families, 2) Middle class families, 2) and Lower class families, 2). The result is, (1) Social life from the aspects of education, lifestyle and moral behavior runs well, while lower class families are not taught morally, (2) Economic life includes income from trade and labor and is used for consumption needs and children's schooling. needs, (3) Parenting is done by showing positive behavior, organizing activities and advising children. Meanwhile, lower class family care is not carried out. Family social life is based on the economic abilities and knowledge of parents. Economic life is a source of income from various assets and professions and income is used for secondary and primary needs. Parenting is correct, but the care scheme for lower-class families is hampered because parents earn a living outside the home.

Abstract

Since batik has been acknowledged by the world, the Batik business begins to emerge. Almost every place in Indonesia tries to expose its local heritage as its identity. Banyumas batik has been existing for a long time ago, but its development is not as expected. There are still many problems dealing with it, such us marketing, raw materials, human resources, and financial. This research used a qualitative approach. The data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis applied qualitative and SWOT analysis. The findings showed 1) the existence of internal and external factors of Banyumas batik industries, such as production marketing, human resource, raw materials, competition, and regeneration,; 2) based on SWOT analysis, the batik industrial development strategy in Banyumas applied SO (Strength-Opportunity) strategy. It was showed a beneficial situation by using the strength to use the opportunity, such as using modern technology to improve productivity, product quality endurance, develop a wider market network, implement a mentoring program, empower them continuously, use technology to promote social media and innovating the motive and pattern designs to compete fairly.

Abstract

Generally, Sasak society still maintains a culture of eloping or kidnapping girls to be wives. The aims of this study were to analyze the existence of merariq marriage tradition as a social construction in Sasak Tribe and how merariq marriage tradition in Sasak tribal is reviewed on the implementation of Law No. 1 of 1974. To achieve the goal, this research uses qualitative methods with descriptive. To collect data, this tehniques are observation, document studies and interviews objectively describing the phenomenon. The 20 informants in this study are; eloping actors, indigenous leaders and environmental chiefs who are divided into 10 informants each in 2 locations. The findings showed that one of the normative teachings contained in the practice of merariq is a sense of pride in the identity of the individual and the identity of the female families is characterized by the desire that the girl married by a man which used the it escape process. The pride has a social contribution to the existence of the family in the middle of the local community. On the other hand, merariq tradition is contrary to Law No. 1 of 1974 on marriage.
