Abstract

The rapid growth of the skincare industry in Indonesia is influenced by increasing self-care awareness, global beauty trends, and digital media. Moreover, the majority of consumers, who are Muslim, pay attention to halal aspects when making purchasing decisions. This study examines the influence of halal awareness and online customer reviews on the use of imported skincare products, with purchase intention as a mediating factor. Using a quantitative method with 102 respondents in Surabaya, data was collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling and Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that halal awareness has a significant effect on the use of imported skincare products, but not on purchase intention. Conversely, online customer reviews have a strong influence on both purchase intention and usage. Purchase intention mediates the relationship between online reviews and usage. These findings highlight the relationship between religious values and digital information in shaping consumer choices, and suggest that skincare product marketers should combine halal transparency with strategic digital engagement to strengthen consumer trust and competitiveness in Indonesia's beauty market.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Islamic Leadership, Work Environment, and Work Motivation on Employee Performance at Muhammadiyah Hospital Gresik. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative research type. The population studied was 64 employees, where the sampling was carried out using saturated sampling so that the entire population became respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires. Data analysis included validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination tests with the help of SPSS software. The results of the analysis show that partially, Islamic Leadership does not have a significant influence on Employee Performance, likewise, Work Environment does not show a significant influence on Employee Performance. In contrast, Work Motivation has a positive and significant influence on Employee Performance. Simultaneously, Islamic Leadership, Work Environment, and Work Motivation have a significant influence on Employee Performance at Muhammadiyah Hospital Gresik, with an F-value of 45.342 (p < 0.001) and an R² of 0.694, indicating that the three variables explain 69.4% of the variance in Employee Performance. This study contributes empirical evidence from an Islamic healthcare institution by showing that Work Motivation is the most dominant factor in Employee Performance, while Islamic Leadership and Work Environment do not have significant partial effects. Therefore, Muhammadiyah Hospital Gresik is expected to improve employee work motivation to achieve more optimal performance.
