Abstract

Abstrak Rendahnya kemampuan literasi membaca dan keterampilan motorik halus anak di Gampong Deunong menjadi permasalahan yang memerlukan intervensi edukatif. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan membaca dan keterampilan motorik halus anak melalui program edukasi kreatif berbasis aktivitas mewarnai dan pembuatan celengan cerdas. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 2–9 Maret 2026 dengan melibatkan 20 anak usia Sekolah Dasar (SD). Metode yang digunakan adalah pendampingan (mentoring) dengan pendekatan partisipatif-edukatif yang dilaksanakan secara bertahap, meliputi kegiatan literasi membaca, mewarnai, dan pembuatan celengan cerdas. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, penilaian hasil karya, serta pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif menggunakan persentase dan N-gain. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi membaca mencapai 78% (kategori baik) dengan peningkatan dari 50% menjadi 78% (N-gain = 0,56; kategori sedang). Sementara itu, keterampilan motorik halus melalui kegiatan mewarnai mencapai 82% dan pembuatan celengan cerdas sebesar 87%, keduanya dalam kategori sangat baik. Secara keseluruhan, program yang dilaksanakan secara bertahap ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif, motorik, dan kreativitas anak. Pendekatan edukasi kreatif berbasis aktivitas praktis dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran di lingkungan masyarakat, khususnya pada daerah dengan keterbatasan stimulasi edukatif. Kata kunci: literasi membaca; motorik halus; mewarnai; celengan cerdas AbstractThe low level of reading literacy and fine motor skills among children in Gampong Deunong represents a significant issue requiring educational intervention. This community service program aimed to optimize children’s reading literacy and fine motor skills through a creative educational approach based on coloring activities and the creation of smart piggy banks. The program was conducted from March 2 to 9, 2026, involving 20 elementary school children. The method employed was a mentoring approach with a participatory-educative framework implemented in a structured sequence of activities, including guided reading, coloring, and hands-on creation of smart piggy banks. Data were collected through observation, product assessment, and pretest–posttest instruments, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods with percentage and N-gain analysis. The results showed that reading literacy reached 78% (good category), improving from 50% to 78% (N-gain = 0.56; moderate category). Meanwhile, fine motor skills achieved 82% in coloring activities and 87% in the smart piggy bank creation, both categorized as very good. Overall, the structured and activity-based program was effective in improving children’s cognitive abilities, fine motor skills, and creativity. A creative educational approach based on practical activities can serve as an alternative learning strategy, particularly in communities with limited educational stimulation. Keywords: reading literacy; fine motor skills; coloring activities; piggy bank creation
