Abstract

Landslide events are natural phenomena where material on a slope adjusts to a new stability state. This process occurs when the load on the slope increases or its inclination becomes steeper, causing the material to slip along a critical failure plane. Such movements involve downward displacement of materials, which may include soil, rock, or artificial fill. Landslide disasters can be triggered by earthquakes or intense rainfall. On October 18, 2021, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck near Karangasem, Bali, at a depth of 10 km, leading to landslides that resulted in 2 fatalities and damage to 171 buildings in Bangli Regency. Areas at risk of landslides, such as Dusun Dukuh, require a disaster mitigation scheme to minimize losses in life and property. Currently, the disaster response team in Dusun Dukuh is underactive in public awareness and lacks understanding of maintaining the donated early warning system. The proposed solution involves strengthening the disaster response team through mapping debris flow-prone areas and improving evacuation methods and hazard recognition. The methodology includes two primary activities: identifying and mapping vulnerable settlements and conducting outreach and training on landslide signs and evacuation procedures. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive risk mapping and the development of a robust local volunteer network. Enhancing the disaster response team's capacity through modern technology and improved infrastructure has proven effective in increasing preparedness for debris flow events. With appropriate implementation strategies, risk mitigation in Dusun Dukuh can be more effective and responsive to future disaster threats

Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) di Dusun Dukuh, Desa Abang Batudinding, Kecamatan Kintamani, dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat menghadapi ancaman banjir bandang dan longsor. Wilayah ini sangat rentan terhadap bencana akibat kondisi geologi vulkanik, lereng terjal, serta intensitas hujan yang tinggi. Sebagai Dusun yang rawan bencana, dan sudah terbentuknya tim siaga bencana, perlu tetap dilakukan edukasi dan pemahaman teknologi peringatan dini sehingga kesiapsiagaan tetap berkelanjutan.Edukasi kesiapsiagaan dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dengan masyarakat, dilanjutkan dengan pemasangan alat Early Warning System (EWS) berbasis Internet of Things yang menunjukkan kondisi cuaca yang salah-satunya Adalah intensitas curah hujan. EWS di setting pada intensitas hujan 80 mm/jam dan 210 mm/jam dalam waktu 3 jam, untuk memberikan peringatan dini melalui bunyi dan notifikasi digital. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat, dengan rata-rata nilai pre-test sebesar 70 meningkat menjadi 90 pada post-test, yang menandakan adanya peningkatan kesadaran terhadap potensi bencana dan prosedur evakuasi.Dampak kegiatan menunjukkan kesiapan Tim Siaga Bencana, serta kebermanfaatan nyata dalam mengurangi risiko korban jiwa maupun kerugian material. Ke depan, tim PKM merencanakan pengembangan prototipe sensor pergerakan lereng untuk memperkuat sistem peringatan dini yang telah terpasang. Dengan demikian, program ini menjadi model mitigasi yang dapat direplikasi di wilayah rawan bencana serupa.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini berfokus pada peningkatan infrastruktur drainase di Pura Pejenengan Dadia Teben Dayang, Desa Sibetan, Kecamatan Bebandem, Kabupaten Karangasem, Bali. Wilayah ini menghadapi masalah genangan air, erosi tanah, dan pengelolaan air hujan yang tidak optimal akibat curah hujan tinggi dan permeabilitas tanah rendah, yang mengganggu aktivitas keagamaan dan kenyamanan masyarakat. Solusi utama adalah penerapan teknologi biopori, lubang resapan vertikal berbahan pipa PVC berdiameter 150 mm dengan lubang-lubang untuk meningkatkan infiltrasi air, mengurangi genangan, mencegah erosi, dan memanfaatkan sampah organik sebagai pupuk. Kegiatan meliputi survei awal, pengukuran, penyelidikan tanah, analisis data, desain titik biopori dan drainase, serta pemasangan bersama masyarakat. Hasil menunjukkan Kebutuhan Biopori pada lahan Pura ini yaitu 24 Buah dan akan dipasang 20 buah biopori dengan diameter 150 mm dengan dalam 1 meter, selain itu juga dikombinasikan dengan rekomendasikan titik pembuatan saluran drainase untuk memperecepat keluarnya limpasan air hujan di area pura. Program ini diharapkan meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan lingkungan, kelestarian pura, dan menjadi model pembangunan berkelanjutan. Rencana lanjutan: monitoring efektivitas dan ekspansi ke lokasi serupa.

Abstract

Soft soil poses significant challenges in road construction projects, particularly in the Binjai - Pangkalan Brandan Toll Road, where non-uniform settlement of landfills has been observed. To address these issues and achieve the desired subgrade quality and compression, various soft soil stabilization methods have been employed, including mechanical approaches such as Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) with preloading or vacuum and Pile Embankment. This study aims to evaluate the environmental impact of these three stabilization methods using the Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) method. Primary data was collected through interviews with experts from diverse stakeholders, including academics, planning consultants, and implementing contractors, using the purposive sampling technique. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted to develop SWOT strategies for each repair method based on environmental assessment indicators derived from literature studies. The SWOT analysis results indicate that the PVD Preloading method is the most environmentally friendly among the three methods. This is attributed to the absence of cement usage, lower electrical energy consumption, and the use of more environmentally friendly materials. Although PVD Preloading requires additional backfill for the preloading process, the impact on the environment is minimal, as the soil material used comes from the project site, and approximately 90% of the backfill is returned as road backfill after the consolidation process is complete. The analysis also reveals that the speed of the consolidation process is inversely proportional to its environmental friendliness.
