Abstract

Vocabulary mastery is a fundamental aspect of Indonesian language learning, es- pecially for lower elementary school students. However, many students still face challenges in mastering vocabulary optimally, partly due to monotonous and less varied teaching methods. This study aims to examine the effect of Wordwall media on Indonesian vocabulary mastery among lower elementary school students. This research employs a quantitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, which involves four stages: database identification, title-based screening, abstract and keyword content matching, and final article selection. A total of 15 relevant articles were selected from databases including Google Scholar, Se- mantic Scholar, DOAJ, and Garuda, published between 2017 and 2026. The results of the literature review indicate that the use of Wordwall media has a positive effect on Indonesian vocabulary mastery in lower elementary school students. Wordwall is proven to create more interactive, engaging, and enjoyable learning environ- ments, which increase student motivation and active participation. Game-based learning activities help students understand and retain new vocabulary more effec- tively. Furthermore, Wordwall also has a positive impact on student learning out- comes and engagement. Therefore, Wordwall can be recommended as an innova- tive and effective alternative media for Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Digital communication has influenced elementary school students’ language use, especially in writing activities. This study aims to analyze the influence of digital communication on students’ writing skills through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The study used the PRISMA method with data sources from Google Scholar and Crossref published between 2016–2026. The findings show that digital communication has both positive and negative impacts on writing skills. Negative impacts include the use of slang, abbreviations, and nonstandard language in academic writing. Meanwhile, positive impacts include increased creativity, motivation, and students’ interest in writing through digital media. Therefore, digital communication can become both a challenge and an opportunity in developing elementary school students’ writing skills.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media on the use of the Indonesian language among elementary school students. The research employed the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by reviewing scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar and Garuda databases. The article selection process was carried out through identification, screening, and selection stages based on the suitability of the title, abstract, and research content. From a total of 225 articles identified, 8 articles met the inclusion criteria and were relevant to the research topic. The results showed that social media, especially TikTok, WhatsApp, YouTube, and Instagram, has a significant influence on the language development of elementary school students. This influence can be seen in the increased use of slang, abbreviations, code-mixing, and informal language in daily communication. In addition to having negative impacts on the use of standard Indonesian, social media also provides positive impacts, such as improving speaking skills, communication creativity, and students’ confidence in expressing opinions. Social media can also be used as an interactive and engaging learning medium for elementary school students. Therefore, the role of teachers and parents is needed to supervise students’ use of social media so that they are able to use proper and correct Indonesian according to communication contexts.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low narrative text writing skills of fourth-grade students of SDN 01 Batang Anai, Padang Pariaman Regency. Students have difficulty in finding ideas, arranging a series of events coherently, and using appropriate linguistic elements. In addition, teacher guidance in the writing process is not optimal so that student learning outcomes are still low. This study aims to describe the improvement of students' narrative text writing skills through the application of the Guided Writing method in fourth-grade students of SDN 01 Batang Anai, Padang Pariaman Regency. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with a qualitative and quantitative approach implemented in two cycles. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of the class teacher as observer, the researcher as practitioner, and 26 students of class IV.A. Data were collected through observation, tests, and non-tests, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study indicate that the application of the Guided Writing method is able to improve the quality of learning and students' narrative text writing skills. The percentage of learning planning increased from 88% to 96%, the implementation of learning in the teacher aspect from 89.28% to 96.42%, the student aspect from 85.71% to 96.42%, while the average student writing skills increased from 81.11 to 86.71. Thus, the Guided Writing method is effective in improving the narrative text writing skills of fourth grade students of SDN 01 Batang Anai, Padang Pariaman Regency.
