Abstract

The implementation of Community Service (PKM) aims to provide a deep understanding to students who join the Damal Student Association (APMD) of Puncak Regency, Papua, in Jayapura City about the importance of development in the Papua region through living in mutual understanding in a multicultural society. The method of implementing this Community Service (PKM) is carried out directly by a team with two competent presenters with lecture techniques, discussions, and students providing opinions, and their respective arguments with problems that occur in the Papua region. Community Service (PKM) was carried out at the Damal Student Dormitory Building located in Prumnas 1, Waena, Heram District, Jayapura City, Papua Province on July 30, 2025. The results and implications of this community service (PKM) program show that students are enthusiastic in discussing Multicultural, Papua, and development. Development in Papua, in various aspects, is very much needed by its people, because it can improve their welfare. Papua does not only live one ethnicity, but has many ethnicities, both indigenous Papuans and non-Papuans. This region is increasingly multicultural, encompassing ethnicities, races, religions, cultures, and more. Therefore, the entire community needs to be educated on the importance of mutual understanding to minimize conflict and division within the community. Through this Community Service (PKM) program, all participants learned that respecting, honoring, and understanding cultural diversity can lead to regional progress, as "our cultures may differ, but we are united in the development of Papua".

Abstract

The increasing amount of information among the younger generation is not directly correlated with the enhancement of their spiritual awareness. This is due to the fact that science education emphasizes cognition rather than emotion and fails to include Islamic principles into its curriculum. This study seeks to examine the enhancement of students’ spiritual consciousness following their comprehension of human physiology in the Basic Biomedical Sciences course. This qualitative study purposively chose informants from among instructors and students. Data were gathered by observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The gathered data were examined by descriptive analysis methods, and their validity was assessed utilizing triangulation procedures. The study's findings demonstrate that Islam (Qur’anic verses) pertains to the concept of human physiology. Comprehending the subject of human physiology in conjunction with Islamic studies helps enhance students’ spiritual consciousness. This study underscores the significance of assembling a curriculum development committee comprising specialists in education, Islamic studies, and human physiology to create an integrated curriculum. Instructors must also be capable of utilizing the subject of human physiology to demonstrate the Greatness and Omnipotence of Allah swt.

Abstract

Kota Jayapura merupakan wilayah dengan tingkat keberagaman etnis, suku, agama, dan budaya yang tinggi. Dalam kehidupan mahasiswa, khususnya yang tinggal di asrama, keberagaman menjadi potensi untuk membangun kebersamaan, tetapi juga dapat memunculkan kesalahpahaman, stereotip, pengelompokan berdasarkan identitas etnis, dan terbatasnya interaksi positif antarmahasiswa. Kondisi tersebut melatarbelakangi kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertema “Membangun Toleransi dan Solidaritas Antaretnis di Kota Jayapura” yang dilaksanakan pada 8 November 2025 bagi mahasiswa Asrama Kabupaten Mimika di Kota Jayapura. Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman dan kesadaran mahasiswa tentang pentingnya toleransi, penghargaan terhadap perbedaan, serta penguatan solidaritas dalam kehidupan bersama. Sasaran kegiatan adalah mahasiswa Asrama Kabupaten Mimika yang memiliki latar belakang suku, budaya, dan pengalaman sosial yang beragam. Pelaksanaan kegiatan menggunakan metode sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, diskusi interaktif, dialog bersama, dan refleksi pengalaman mahasiswa dalam membangun hubungan sosial serta menghadapi perbedaan. Materi mencakup keberagaman, toleransi, solidaritas sosial, komunikasi antaretnis, serta pentingnya kerja sama dan persaudaraan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan meningkatnya pemahaman dan kesadaran peserta mengenai pentingnya menjaga hubungan harmonis, saling menghargai, dan memperkuat kebersamaan. Hal tersebut terlihat melalui partisipasi aktif dalam diskusi, keterbukaan menyampaikan pengalaman, dan komitmen bersama menciptakan lingkungan asrama yang inklusif dan kondusif. Kegiatan ini bermanfaat dalam memperkuat toleransi, solidaritas, dan persaudaraan antaretnis serta berpotensi dilanjutkan melalui dialog rutin, kegiatan kolaboratif, dan pendampingan berkelanjutan.
