Abstract

The mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students still show variations in achievement at each stage of problem solving. This study aims to map the mathematical problem solving abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students based on the five stages of the IDEAL model (Identify, Define, Explore, Act, Look Back). The study used a quantitative descriptive approach with total sampling of 24 students. The instrument was a contextual problem solving test assessed using an analytical rubric on a scale of 0–4 at each stage. The scores were analyzed through average calculations and conversion of ability categories. The results showed that the Act (2.79) and Explore (2.54) stages were in the capable category, while the Identify (2.46) and Define (2.33) stages were in the sufficient category, and the Look Back (1.92) stage was the weakest aspect. Overall, most students were classified as capable, but weaknesses were still found in the stages of formulating information and verifying solutions. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening reflective strategies in mathematics learning. This IDEAL stage-based competency mapping can serve as the basis for more systematic problem solving learning planning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The high rate of traffic accidents in Indonesia involving children underscores the urgent need for preventive strategies, such as early traffic education, which is not yet systematically integrated into the national curriculum. This study systematically reviews existing policies and the implementation of early traffic education in Indonesia, comparing them with international best practices to propose an integrated framework for improvement. A systematic literature review was conducted on sources from 2019 to 2025, utilizing VOSviewer for a bibliometric analysis to map thematic clusters from relevant articles. The analysis revealed four dominant themes, with a central finding being the lack of structural integration of traffic education in Indonesian schools, which contrasts sharply with the successful interactive models abroad. The findings underscore the urgency of embedding traffic education into the formal curriculum as a component of character building. Key recommendations include formulating a national policy, enhancing teacher training with active learning methods, developing contextual media, and fostering cross-sectoral collaboration to cultivate a sustainable road safety culture.

Abstract

Background of Study: The advancement of immersive technology and artificial intelligence (AI) offers new opportunities for creating more adaptive and interactive learning systems. However, higher education institutions still face challenges such as limited industry-standard facilities and the high cost of multimedia equipment.Aims and Scope of Paper: This study aims to develop a prototype of a WebXR-based Collaborative Learning Management System (LMS) equipped with 3D virtual features and AI integration to enhance student learning experiences. Methods: The research employed the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method, which consists of six stages: conceptualization, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution. The study involved 30 Multimedia Education students from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia selected through purposive sampling.Result: Feasibility testing using a Likert-scale questionnaire revealed that the system achieved a highly feasible category with average scores of 81,7 % for Learnability 85,6 %, for system performance 76,93%, for Efficiency 79,9%, for memorability 74,2%, satisfaction 85,4 %. Resulting in an overall feasibility of 81.7%. Semi-structured interviews confirmed that AI integration significantly supported learning personalization and provided content recommendations, although the AI feature was limited to text-based responses. Conclusion: The results indicate that combining WebXR and AI in an LMS can address the challenges of industry-based learning by providing immersive, adaptive, and accessible learning experiences. This system demonstrates strong potential as a future-ready digital learning solution, with future research suggested to evaluate its impact on learning outcomes and improve AI capabilities for deeper contextual interaction.
