Abstract

This community service research is entitled "Mentoring Critical Opinion Writing and Ethical Communication on Social Media for Students of SMAN 3 Denpasar." The goal is to respond to the phenomenon of intensive social media use that is often not balanced with adequate critical thinking skills and communication ethics. Through structured mentoring, this research aims to improve students' ability to write structured, fact-based, and responsible opinions, while also strengthening ethical awareness when communicating on social media. The method used is a community service approach with a series of activities: socialization, critical opinion writing workshops, ethical social media simulations, and reflections with teachers and students. The results of the implementation show that this mentoring was able to significantly increase students' understanding, as evidenced by the pre-test and post-test questionnaire results which showed a 45% increase in the understanding of social media ethics (from an initial average of 40% to 85%). In addition, this mentoring helped students distinguish facts from opinions, reduce provocative comments, and develop more polite and ethical communication habits in the digital space. This research emphasizes the importance of the role of schools in designing digital literacy and communication ethics mentoring programs so that social media can become an educational space, not just a space for entertainment without reflection. In addition, this mentoring activity also provided students of SMAN 3 Denpasar with the opportunity to participate in a student journalism competition held by Jawa Pos Radar Bali, where they won third place in the hard news category and first place in the feature category.

Abstract

Background: The Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (CHLB) movement is a fundamental principle that needs to be implemented in daily life. The background to this activity was based on the importance of preventing tooth decay from an early age, which has been proven to impact child growth and development. Objective: The goal was to provide education on CHLB, particularly regarding maintaining dental health in early childhood. Method: The current community service program was implemented at RA An-Nur RT 37, Sidokepung Village, Buduran, Sidoarjo. The methods used included initial observation, material development, interactive learning media development, lesson plan development, and outreach. The outreach was attended by 37 group B students, using an interactive approach consisting of illustrated stories, group practice, and fun mini-games. Results: The results showed an increase in students’ understanding of the importance of maintaining dental health, the appropriate time to do so, and their understanding of choosing healthy foods for teeth. CHLB outreach using interactive educational methods has proven effective in increasing early childhood awareness of dental health while fostering healthy habits from an early age. Conclusion: This activity successfully demonstrated that utilizing an interactive educational approach, incorporating illustrated stories, group practice, and mini-games, is highly effective in increasing early childhood awareness regarding dental health.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan multimedia interaktif “Salihah Dress Up” sebagai media edukasi adab berpakaian muslimah bagi anak usia 7–9 tahun serta mengetahui tingkat kelayakan dan kepraktisan media yang dikembangkan. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE yang meliputi tahap analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 5 responden pada tahap analisis kebutuhan dan 10 siswa sekolah dasar pada tahap uji coba produk. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara responden anak, wawancara ahli, dan studi literatur. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi ahli, angket respons pengguna, serta soal pre-test dan post-test. Hasil validasi ahli media memperoleh persentase sebesar 83,33% dan ahli materi sebesar 81,33% dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil uji kepraktisan memperoleh persentase sebesar 93,99% dengan kategori sangat praktis berdasarkan respons pengguna. Selain itu, hasil pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor pemahaman siswa terhadap adab berpakaian muslimah dari rata-rata 94,1% pada pre-test menjadi 97,1% pada post-test setelah menggunakan multimedia interaktif. Temuan tersebut mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dalam uji coba terbatas. Dengan demikian, multimedia interaktif “Salihah Dress Up” menunjukkan kelayakan dan kepraktisan sebagai media edukasi adab berpakaian muslimah bagi anak usia sekolah dasar.
