Abstract

The curriculum serves as a primary component in the education system, determining the direction, content, and strategies for implementing learning. In the context of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in madrasahs, the curriculum functions not only as an academic guide but also as a means of shaping Islamic values and the character of students. This research aims to analyze the content of the PAI curriculum in madrasahs in relation to its relevance to the needs of students in the modern era, as well as its alignment with the goals of Islamic education. The method employed is qualitative research using a library research approach, through analysis of various literature sources such as books, scientific journals, government regulations, and previous research findings. The research findings indicate that the PAI curriculum in madrasahs has a comprehensive structure encompassing four main subjects: Al-Qur’an Hadith, Akidah Akhlak, Fiqh, and History of Islamic Culture, with greater time allocation and depth of material compared to general schools. However, gaps still exist between the ideal curriculum and its field implementation, particularly in teachers' understanding of the curriculum content and the application of contextual learning. Therefore, strengthening teacher capacity, aligning central and regional policies, and innovating value-based Islamic learning relevant to contemporary challenges are necessary.

Abstract

This study addresses the problem of Al-Qur’an Hadith learning at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) level, which tends to emphasize textual mastery such as reading and memorization while lacking contextual and applicative understanding. The purpose of this research is to analyze the content of the Al-Qur’an Hadith curriculum at MI based on Decree of the Minister of Religious Affairs Number 347 of 2022 and to examine its relevance to educational objectives and students’ developmental characteristics. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using content analysis, with data collected through document analysis of official curriculum texts, policy documents, and relevant literature. The findings indicate that the curriculum is systematically structured and oriented toward basic competencies; however, its implementation is still predominantly textual. The study concludes that integrating learning theories and strengthening pedagogical approaches are essential to promote meaningful learning and internalization of Qur’anic values. These findings contribute to improving curriculum implementation and instructional practices in Islamic primary education.

Abstract

The development of the Arabic language curriculum in Indonesia holds a strategic position, both as a religious language and as an international language of communication. This article aims to examine the principles, foundations, and implementation of the Arabic language curriculum by referring to academic literature and the latest regulations, including the 2024 Learning Achievement (CP) documents and the Director General of Islamic Education Decree No. 3302 of 2024. The method used is literature review (library research) with a content analysis approach. The study results indicate that the development of the Arabic language curriculum is based on six dimensions: educational philosophy, Pancasila, linguistics, psychology, education, and the Arab-Islamic socio-cultural context. Curriculum implementation includes learning planning, innovative strategies, teaching material development, authentic assessment, the roles of teachers and institutions, the integration of local culture, and the utilisation of digital technology. In conclusion, the Arabic language curriculum in Indonesia must function as a religious, scientific, humanistic, and global instrument that produces graduates rooted in local culture but ready to face the challenges of international communication.
