Abstract

This study is entitled “The Effect of Work Competency Development on the Productivity of Educational and Administrative Staff at UPTD SD Negeri Naimnasi, Kupang Regency.” The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of work competency development on the productivity of educational and administrative staff at UPTD SD Negeri Naimnasi, Nonbaun Village, Fatuleu Tengah District, Kupang Regency. This research employed a quantitative research method. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The data sources consisted of primary and secondary data. The population in this study included all educational and administrative staff at UPTD SD Negeri Naimnasi, totaling 9 respondents. Since the population was relatively small, all members of the population were used as the research sample. The data analysis technique used was simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study showed that the simple linear regression equation obtained was Ŷ = 5.625 + 0.625X. The correlation coefficient results indicated that the work competency development variable had a positive and moderate relationship with work productivity. The coefficient of determination value was R² = 0.1681 or 16.81%, meaning that work productivity was influenced by work competency development by 16.81%, while the remaining 83.19% was influenced by other factors not discussed in this study. The t-test results showed that the calculated t-value was 1.186, which was smaller than the t-table value of 2.306 (1.186 < 2.306). This indicates that work competency development did not have a significant effect on the productivity of educational and administrative staff at UPTD SD Negeri Naimnasi. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) was accepted and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was rejected.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in employee work productivity before and after participating in training programs at the Regional Public Water Utility Company (PERUMDA) of Kupang City. Work productivity is an important factor in determining organizational success in achieving its objectives and delivering effective and efficient public services. To enhance the quality of human resources, the company conducts training programs aimed at improving employees’ knowledge, skills, and work capabilities. This study employed a quantitative approach using a comparative research method. The population consisted of all 80 employees of PERUMDA Air Minum Kota Kupang, who were also used as the research sample through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics and a One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to examine differences in employee productivity before and after training. The results showed that the average employee work productivity score before training was 31.74, while after training it increased to 40.55. The ANOVA test results indicated that the calculated F-value was 387.29, which was greater than the F-table value of 3.90, with a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). These findings indicate a significant difference in employee work productivity before and after training. Therefore, the training programs implemented by PERUMDA Air Minum Kota Kupang have proven to be effective in improving employee work productivity.
