Abstract

Land-use change is one of the primary drivers influencing watershed hydrological conditions. Uncontrolled conversion of land in the Benanain watershed, particularly in the Temef sub-watershed, has the potential to increase surface runoff and accelerate soil erosion, which in turn increases sedimentation within the Temef Dam reservoir. This study aims to analyze the impact of land-use changes between 2018 and 2024 on surface runoff and soil erosion using the Soil and Water Assessment Tool Plus (SWAT+). Data used include rainfall, climate, DEM, soil type maps, and land cover maps which were processed through watershed delineation, HRU formation, and hydrological simulations. The results indicate significant land-cover changes, particularly a reduction of shrubland by 27.65% and an increase in forest area by 23.74%. These changes significantly affect runoff patterns, where in 2024 sub-watershed 6 produced the highest annual runoff of 611.96 mm and sub-watershed 8 the lowest at 209.93 mm. The findings provide a comprehensive understanding of hydrological dynamics in the Temef watershed and serve as a scientific reference for soil-water conservation planning and sustainable watershed management.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama dalam pengelolaan lahan kering adalah keterbatasan air, yang semakin diperparah oleh praktik penyiraman tanaman secara manual yang tidak efisien. Kondisi ini juga terjadi pada lahan ketahanan pangan di Desa Oeltua, Kabupaten Kupang, yang masih menerapkan sistem pertanian konvensional dengan kebutuhan air tinggi, waktu penyiraman yang lama, serta beban tenaga kerja yang besar, khususnya pada musim kemarau. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air dan produktivitas lahan melalui penerapan teknologi irigasi tetes berbasis pendekatan partisipatif. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap survei dan identifikasi masalah, sosialisasi dan perencanaan, pembuatan sistem irigasi tetes, serta monitoring dan evaluasi. Sistem irigasi dirancang sederhana dengan memanfaatkan distribusi air secara gravitasi dari tandon air ke-main lane, sub- main lane, dan lateral yang dilengkapi emitter. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sistem irigasi tetes mampu mendistribusikan air secara merata dengan kebutuhan sekitar 7200 liter per hari untuk 30 larikan, serta meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air, tenaga kerja, dan waktu penyiraman. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan kapasitas petani dalam hal pengetahuan teknis pengunaan air, dan penerapan pertanian berkelanjutan. Implementasi sistem ini juga berkontribusi pada pengurangan beban kerja, efisiensi biaya operasional, serta peningkatan potensi produktivitas lahan.

Abstract

Labuan Bajo is the city center of West Manggarai Regency, known as a tourist city that has one of the seven wonders of the world, namely the Komodo Island tourist attraction, which makes Labuan Bajo city crowded with local and foreign tourists. There are several road sections in Labuan Bajo that are still ineffective due to certain factors. One of them is the performance of the Soekarno Hatta road section which is still ineffective due to the activities of food places (culinary tourism of the village end), docks, shops, hotels and offices that cause roadside obstacles that cause congestion. The performance of the road section is analyzed based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) in 2023. Based on the results of research and field observations, it shows that the large number of vehicles parked and stopped (side obstacles) on the road section is not balanced with parking facilities. This results in the actual speed of the road section becoming lower at 13 km / h. The performance of the road section based on the results of the saturation degree analysis (Q/C ratio) is at service level F with a saturation degree (DS) value of 1.08, with volume above road capacity, long queue, and low speed, because internal resistance is very high and drivers are starting to experience short-duration congestion.
