Abstract

Fenomena flexing di media sosial berkembang menjadi lebih dari sekadar praktik pamer kekayaan, tetapi telah menjadi bahasa simbolik dalam budaya digital kontemporer. Melalui platform seperti TikTok, Instagram, dan Facebook, individu membangun identitas diri melalui representasi visual berupa barang mewah, perjalanan eksklusif, dan gaya hidup konsumtif. Penelitian ini bertujuan membongkar makna tersembunyi dibalik praktik flexing menggunakan pendekatan Hermeneutika Kecurigaan dari Paul Ricoeur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif interpretatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi-hermeneutik. Dalam penelitian ini, flexing dipahami bukan hanya sebagai realitas objektif, tetapi sebagai teks simbolik yang mengandung makna ideologis, psikologis, sosial, dan eksistensial.             Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa praktik flexing sering kali menjadi bentuk kompensasi atas kecemasan sosial, kebutuhan validasi, krisis identitas, dan alienasi individu di tengah budaya kapitalisme digital. Simbol kemewahan yang ditampilkan tidak selalu merepresentasikan kepemilikan nyata, melainkan berfungsi sebagai topeng sosial demi memperoleh pengakuan dan status di ruang publik digital. Selain itu, budaya flexing memperlihatkan bagaimana media sosial membentuk standar keberhasilan dan citra diri yang semu. Dengan demikian, Hermeneutika Kecurigaan membuka ruang pembacaan kritis terhadap budaya digital yang selama ini diterima secara literal oleh masyarakat sehingga pengguna media sosial dapat lebih reflektif dalam memahami simbol dan realitas di dunia digital.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze parental role dysfunction in children's education and future from the perspective of Christian Religious Education in Mapurjaya Village, Mimika Regency. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Participants were purposively selected and included parents, children, religious leaders, teachers, and community leaders. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model combined with Spradley's ethnographic analysis. The findings indicate that parental role dysfunction is primarily influenced by external factors, including work demands, limited time, economic constraints, and insufficient ability to assist children with learning. Nevertheless, parents continue to support their children's education through motivation, attention, educational support, and character and faith development. The study concludes that the family is the primary educational institution in Christian Religious Education, and optimizing parental roles requires sustained collaboration among families, churches, and schools to strengthen children's education, Christian character formation, and future development.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has significantly influenced the lives of young people, particularly in education and character formation. As a faith-based educational institution, the church is responsible for preparing the younger generation to live according to Christian values amid the challenges of the digital era. Catechism plays a vital role in nurturing faith, yet the limited availability of engaging and relevant teaching materials often reduces the effectiveness of the learning process. This study aims to develop a Christian Religious Education textbook for church catechism students using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach to design, validate, and evaluate the textbook. The findings demonstrate that the developed textbook improves participants’ understanding of Christian faith, increases learning participation, and supports the development of Christian character, including love, honesty, responsibility, discipline, and social concern. Furthermore, the textbook provides systematic, contextual, and relevant learning resources that align with the needs and learning characteristics of the digital generation. Therefore, the developed textbook is an effective alternative learning resource for church catechism ministry and contributes to strengthening faith formation and Christian character development among catechism participants.
