Abstract

The governance of conventional communal waste banks is frequently characterized by managerial inefficiencies and a heavy reliance on manual record-keeping, which fosters information asymmetry. From the perspective of Islamic economics, such conditions manifest as gharar (informational uncertainty), potentially undermining amanah (trust) and ‘adl (fairness in valuation), while simultaneously neglecting the circularity of organic materials—thereby contravening the principle of Hifzh al-Bi’ah (environmental preservation). This study aims to engineer, develop, and evaluate a digital platform ecosystem for waste bank management (SiRKAH) that inherently integrates circular governance with the principles of Maqashid Sharia. Employing the Design Science Research Methodology (DSRM), the system artifact was validated by a multidisciplinary expert panel using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and its efficacy was assessed through field-based operational comparisons (pre- versus post-implementation). The expert validation results confirm a highly robust architectural validity, with an S-CVI score of 0.939. Operationally, the implementation of a digital ijab-qabul protocol (dual authentication) and an immutable ledger has demonstrated significant efficacy disruption: reducing transaction duration by up to 94.2%, completely eliminating (100%) recording errors and balance disputes, and increasing user participation rates by 46.4%. This study contributes to the Green Information Systems (Green IS) literature through the conceptualization of a “Gharar-Free System Architecture,” demonstrating that the fusion of digital technological engineering with religio-communal ethical values constitutes a robust instrument for restoring public trust and accelerating the adoption of a circular economy.

Abstract

The integration of digital tools in hybrid higher education has become a defining pedagogical challenge in the post-pandemic era; however, private Islamic higher education institutions in developing contexts remain significantly underrepresented in the global literature. Grounded in the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework, this study examines how digital tools are integrated into pedagogical practices within a multi-program private Islamic higher education institution in Indonesia operating a proprietary Learning Management System (LMS) across fully online, face-to-face, and hybrid delivery modes. Adopting a mixed-methods, descriptive-evaluative case study design, data were gathered through an LMS platform documentary analysis, a structured questionnaire administered to 30 lecturers (Cronbach's α = 0.84), and semi-structured interviews with eight key academic informants. Quantitative results revealed a high overall level of faculty perception regarding digital tool integration (M = 4.01, SD = 0.71), with perceived pedagogical impact scoring the highest (M = 4.20). Qualitatively, thematic analysis yielded four dominant dimensions: the LMS as a pedagogical enabler, digital attendance as an accountability mechanism, persistent integration barriers, and hybrid learning as an evolving institutional identity. Crucially, the convergent integration of these data strands culminated in a novel six-layer model of technology-enhanced pedagogical practice, introducing a "periphery-to-center" TPACK adoption trajectory. This model offers a theoretically grounded developmental dynamic tailored specifically to resource-constrained, faith-based higher education institutions. The study underscores the critical necessity for structured faculty development programs and formalized institutional hybrid policies to successfully optimize LMS-mediated pedagogical transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of women's cooperatives as a strategy for empowerment and economic independence through a community-based feminist economic approach in East Lombok Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach with a multi-case study design, complemented by descriptive quantitative data analysis. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, documentation, and a survey involving 120 members of women's cooperatives. The results indicate that women's cooperatives play a crucial role in enhancing women's financial inclusion by providing access to business capital, savings, and micro-enterprise development. Access to business credit increased from 32% before joining to 81% after becoming members, while routine savings ownership rose from 41% to 76%. Furthermore, the proportion of members capable of developing independent businesses increased from 29% to 64%, with average incomes rising by approximately 37% within two years. From a feminist economic perspective, these cooperatives serve as collective economic spaces that strengthen women's bargaining power within the local economic structure. These findings suggest that women's cooperatives possess significant potential as an inclusive and sustainable model for women's economic empowerment.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between Islamic fintech adoption, financial inclusion, and business sustainability among rattan craft small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in East Lombok, Indonesia. Rattan craft SMEs face challenges related to limited financial access, inadequate financial management, market limitations, and the need to adapt to digital transformation. This study aims to determine whether Islamic fintech adoption contributes to business sustainability and to examine the mediating role of financial inclusion. A quantitative explanatory research design was employed, involving 150 rattan craft SME owners and managers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that Islamic fintech adoption has a significant positive effect on financial inclusion (β = 0.684, p < 0.001) and business sustainability (β = 0.293, p < 0.001). Financial inclusion also significantly affects business sustainability (β = 0.517, p < 0.001). Furthermore, financial inclusion significantly mediates the relationship between Islamic fintech adoption and business sustainability (β = 0.354, p < 0.001). The findings highlight Islamic fintech as a potential instrument for strengthening financial inclusion and sustainable development among traditional SMEs.
