Abstract

This study was conducted in response to a persistent gap in contextual and meaningful IPAS learning at the elementary level — one that, despite growing attention in the literature, has not been adequately addressed through systematic synthesis. The specific concern is whether electronic student worksheets grounded in local wisdom, particularly those carrying the values of Tri Kaya Parisudha, can be said to produce consistent, documentable effects on students' critical thinking and character development. Previous studies have addressed pieces of this question, but none have drawn them together with sufficient rigor. A Systematic Literature Review was therefore conducted, following the PRISMA protocol across four stages: identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion. Source materials were drawn from accredited national journals and relevant scientific publications. Of 45 articles initially identified, 10 met the inclusion criteria and were subjected to descriptive qualitative analysis. The findings indicate that local wisdom-based electronic worksheets produced measurable gains in learning outcomes, motivation, active participation, and critical thinking. The incorporation of Tri Kaya Parisudha values — manacika, wacika, and kayika — also appeared to reinforce students' attitudinal development in ways that standard digital worksheets did not. Taken together, the evidence positions local wisdom-based electronic worksheets as a contextually grounded and educationally sound resource for IPAS instruction in elementary schools, one that serves cognitive and character goals simultaneously.

Abstract

IPAS learning in elementary schools still faces limitations in providing learning media that effectively facilitate students’ concrete and contextual understanding of ecosystem concepts, which affects their engagement in learning about the relationships and dynamics of biotic and abiotic components. This study aims to analyze the needs for developing Augmented Reality (AR) Diorama media in IPAS learning as a basis for designing media that aligns with user characteristics and instructional contexts. A descriptive approach was employed by integrating quantitative and qualitative data obtained from Grade V teachers and students through needs analysis questionnaires and classroom observations. The results indicate that IPAS learning is predominantly supported by textbooks and two-dimensional media, which are insufficient to explain abstract and dynamic ecosystem concepts; teachers require interactive visual media to support explanations of ecological relationships and processes, while students demonstrate strong interest in three-dimensional visual learning media. The availability of supporting devices in the school environment provides opportunities for implementing AR-based media, although media design should consider existing technical constraints. In conclusion, AR Diorama media is relevant to be developed as an innovative, contextual, and applicable alternative to enhance the quality of IPAS learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

In order to enhance third-grade students' scientific literacy during science classes, this project aims to develop and assess flipbook resources based on Tri Hita Karana. This research and development (R&D) project employed the ADDIE paradigm, which consists of phases for analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Third-grade instructors, 39 kids from Cluster V in the Busungbiu District, media specialists, language specialists, and material specialists made up the research subjects. Data was gathered using science literacy assessments, teacher response questionnaires, and validation sheets. For both qualitative and quantitative analysis, Lawshe's validity test (CVR and CVI), practicality percentage analysis, one-sample t-test, and effect size computation were employed. The study found that the flipbook medium was deemed genuine with a CVI score of 0.90 for the material aspect, 0.67 for language, and 0.56 for presentation. Additionally, with a 96.43% proportion, this media was deemed extremely practical and useful in enhancing scientific literacy, with an impact size of 1.314 and a significant value of 0.000 (highly effective category). Consequently, Tri Hita Karana-focused flipbooks might be utilized as a cutting-edge scientific teaching aid in primary school settings.
