Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity aimed to instill the four magic words—please, sorry, excuse me, and thank you—in orphanage children through creative storytelling and songs, addressing limited guidance on politeness in institutional care settings. Method: Using qualitative action research, the study employed fairy tales, sing-along techniques, role-play simulations, and interactive discussions with 15 children aged 6–16 at Nurul Iman Enam Berlian Orphanage over three days. Practical Applications: The creative approach offers an effective, enjoyable strategy for character education that orphanages, schools, and community programs can adopt to foster polite social interactions among children. Conclusion: Results demonstrated improved understanding and application of politeness values, confirming that narrative and musical methods effectively support early character development, though sustained reinforcement and caregiver involvement remain essential for lasting behavioral change.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed family interactions and created new challenges for parents in supporting adolescents. Digital parenting has emerged as an important approach to promoting adolescents' mental health and emotional regulation in the digital era. This study aims to examine the role of digital parenting in adolescents' mental health and emotion regulation using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The review followed the PRISMA guidelines, with relevant articles identified through Google Scholar using predefined keywords. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 10 articles published between 2016 and 2026 were selected and analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings indicate that digital parenting characterized by open communication, active parental involvement, digital mediation, and parents' digital literacy positively contributes to adolescents' emotion regulation and mental well-being. Conversely, digital neglect, ineffective family communication, and limited parental involvement in adolescents' digital activities increase the risk of negative emotions, problematic internet use, gaming addiction, and psychological problems such as anxiety and depression. Furthermore, strengthening parental self-efficacy through psychoeducational programs and web-based interventions has been shown to improve the quality of digital parenting practices. Therefore, effective digital parenting depends not only on limiting screen time but also on fostering warm emotional relationships, empathetic communication, and parents' readiness to guide adolescents in navigating the challenges of the digital environment.

Abstract

Quarter-Life Crisis (QLC) is a psychological phenomenon commonly experienced by individuals during emerging adulthood, characterized by anxiety, identity confusion, uncertainty about the future, and pressure in making life decisions. One factor believed to help individuals cope with QLC is religiosity. This study aims to systematically examine the role of religiosity in helping university students navigate Quarter-Life Crisis. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with a qualitative descriptive approach. Articles were searched through electronic databases using the keywords religiosity, quarter-life crisis, and university students. Out of 281 documents retrieved, 6 articles met the inclusion criteria and were further analyzed. The findings indicate that religiosity functions as a protective factor that can help reduce the level of QLC by enhancing meaning in life, inner peace, self-acceptance, resilience, and more adaptive coping strategies. However, the effectiveness of religiosity does not operate in isolation, as it is also influenced by other factors such as self-efficacy, social support, and tolerance of uncertainty. These findings suggest that addressing QLC among university students requires a holistic approach that simultaneously considers spiritual, psychological, and social aspects.
