Abstract

Science is a subject that requires special skills that students must have, one of which is scientific communication skills. Scientific communication skills have not been the focus of science learning at the junior high school level, which causes many students to have low levels of scientific communication skills. The purpose of developing a STEM SDGs-based science module is to determine how effective the use of the developed module is by integrating it with STEM SDGs in improving the scientific communication skills of junior high school students. The research conducted was a development type using the ADDIE model which went through five stages, namely the analysis, design, development, application, and evaluation stages. The product was tested using two tests, namely the effectiveness test and the validity test. Learning using the STEM SDGs-based science module that was developed has passed both tests well, indicating that the STEM SDGs-based science learning module has been proven valid and effective in improving the scientific communication skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

Junior high school students' problem-solving skills in science learning are relatively low due to a lack of innovation and variety in learning media. The purpose of this study was to develop SSI-based E-LKPD as an innovative learning media that is valid, practical, and effective in honing and improving junior high school students' problem-solving skills. This study used a Research & Development (R&D) research design with reference to the ADDIE model. The location of this study was SMPN 4 Tanggul with 32 eighth-grade students as research subjects. Data collection was conducted using validation sheets, learning implementation observation sheets, pretest and posttest, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that SSI-based E-LKPD is valid for use with an average validity score of 92.77% in the highly valid category. The practicality of using SSI-based E-LKPD showed an average score of 93.75% in the highly practical category. The effectiveness test showed an N-gain score of 0.66, categorized as moderate. Student responses received an average score of 88.7%, categorized as very good. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the SSI-based E-LKPD developed is valid, practical, and effective in improving the problem-solving skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

The rapid shift toward digital learning in higher education demands learning resources that not only present content but also facilitate project organization and digital literacy. In response to this need, this study developed a Notion-based e-module integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model for the Plant Structure and Function course to support students’ digital literacy. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, involving analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Fifty fifth-semester students from the Science Education Program at Universitas Jember participated. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, student practicality questionnaires, and pretest–posttest instruments. The product obtained validity scores of 91.875% from material experts and 93.33% from media experts. The practicality score from students reached 90.36%. These findings indicate that the Notion-based PjBL e-module is feasible and practical to support meaningful learning and foster digital literacy. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of a productivity and project-management platform (Notion) as a learning medium in higher education, enabling structured project workflows, collaborative workspaces, and digital documentation for PjBL activities. The developed module offers an alternative digital resource to facilitate technology integration in science education.
